The failure of rolling element bearings is one of the most important causes of breakdown in rotary machines. Vibration of each machine is a good factor in realizing the condition of machines. So far, various vibration-based techniques have been developed for analyzing vibration signals. These methods are used in different domains to monitor the condition of bearings. Wireless modules can be used to solve the limits of access in machines especially in rotating machinery.In this paper, a wireless accelerometer sensor for remote condition monitoring of rolling bearings has been developed. The fabricated system works in high sample rate and has been tested on six roller bearings with different defects. Gharajeh, Mehrdad Ganbari Azar","doi":"10.1166/JOM.2014.1051","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1166/JOM.2014.1051","url":null,"abstract":"Friction stir welding (FSW) is a solid state welding process for joining aluminum, magnesium, zinc, copper alloys, etc. In this paper, effect of annealing heat treatment on the microstructure and mechanical properties of friction stir welded C70600 copper nickel alloy joints was investigated. Six different samples were welded in various annealing conditions and the tool rotation speeds. Microstructural properties were investigated by means of optical microscopy. Hardness value and tensile strengths of the specimens were investigated by Vickers hardness and standard tensile tests. Results show that by increasing the annealing time and decreasing rotation speed, the grain size in the NZ decreased significantly, hardness rose and tensile strength improved. The hardness behavior of friction stir welded joints was discussed by grain size variation and dislocation density.
