The laser optical system is formed by optical resonant cavity, reflector mirrors, beam expander, and a focal system. The assembly is part of an equipment to cut and engrave by laser via, which is called Ulyses, and was developed in the Laser Technology Laboratory at IMRE-University of Havana. Nd:YAG laser with 1064 nm wavelength is used to obtain 1 ms pulse with energy peak of 1.2 mJ. We have made several engraving with different sizes and wide line, with thicknesses from 0.5 mm to 3 mm in brass and alloying steel.","PeriodicalId":380710,"journal":{"name":"2006 Multiconference on Electronics and Photonics","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131587103","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The movement of the source is modeled using linear polynomial approximation in order to estimate the DOA and angular velocities of a point source impinging a signal on the planar array. The resulting four dimensional problem is computation intensive and precludes the use of the approach in real time applications. In order to reduce the computational complexity of the problem, we exploit the geometry of this array and decoupling techniques to perform two two-dimensional searches in parallel instead of a four dimensional search. We also relate the high resolution Capon approach, which we demonstrate herein, to the DOAV formulation presented in this paper. The excellent performance of the combined technique is demonstrated via simulation results.","PeriodicalId":380710,"journal":{"name":"2006 Multiconference on Electronics and Photonics","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133182319","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We present a simple and efficient process to code images based on our experience on discrete data fitting on circular and spherical domains. On either case, the disperse data may lead to large errors unless we use a discrete reduction. We consider, as is common in images analysis, a geometry independent single variable but discrete description, to reduce it using the Chebyshev like polynomials on that discrete set. We analyze several radar images of the type height-distance, to successfully deconstruct and reconstruct them with a reduced error.","PeriodicalId":380710,"journal":{"name":"2006 Multiconference on Electronics and Photonics","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131834635","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The model can be easily extended to different rare-earth fibre lasers configurations subject to some constrains, since the physics remains the same in many cases. Some spectroscopy data of important fibre fabrication companies and published papers are then used to calculate the amplification, and gain. Three different rare earth doped fibres (namely ytterbium, neodymium, and thulium) were objects of this analysis. Finally, the numerical calculations showed to be in good agreement with reported experimental results (slope efficiency, etc).","PeriodicalId":380710,"journal":{"name":"2006 Multiconference on Electronics and Photonics","volume":"89 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123625115","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A Cs magneto-optical trap has been developed using the standard sigma+sigma$4-horizontal 2-vertical laser beams of 1.9 cm in diameter, with 5 mW each. We use 852 nm, 5 mW, DBR laser as a master laser which is stabilized by saturation spectroscopy. Linewidth of the master laser is 1 MHz. A 50 mW, 852 nm, semiconductor laser is used as slave laser in order to amplify the light of the master laser. The slave laser is stabilized by injection light technique. 12 MHz red shift of the light is performed by double pass through two AOM's.
