The authors focused mainly on three major international organizations, where appropriate structures, mechanisms or groups have been created for this purpose, i.e. – the European Union (EU), the United Nations (UN), the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). These organizations also have their own coordination centers operating on a 24-hour basis, which makes these activities coordinated and supervised. This article also presents the legal basis on which the above-mentioned structures are established. This Institute not only has the best equipment and high-class conservators, but also has a Conservation Emergency Room, which is a unique mobile laboratory equipped with equipment and apparatus based on the latest technologies. Dotyczy to w głównej mierze repozytoriów, ale w niektórych przypadkach ma też odniesienie do innych części funkcjonalnych archiwum. Przez wybór proekologicznych rozwiązań archiwa redukują swoją zależność od instalacji technicznych i w ten sposób uzyskują większe bezpieczeństwo użytkowania budynku, a ponadto obniżają koszty funkcjonowania przez redukcję zużycia energii. Budynek archiwum powinien być właściwie przygotowany do długoterminowego przechowywania materiałów archiwalnych. Musi także spełniać wymogi stawiane przyjaznej instytucji publicznej, dobrze przygotowanej do obsługi i zaspokajania różnorodnych potrzeb użytkowników w zakresie działalności prowadzonej przez archiwa państwowe. Pełnione funkcje mają wpływ na jego konstrukcję, wyposażenie oraz zastosowane instalacje, technologie i rozwiązania funkcjonalne. Na stan zachowania zbiorów gromadzonych, przechowywanych i udostępnianych w archiwach mają wpływ bardzo różne czynniki, w dużym stopniu zależy on od warunków wewnętrznego środowiska, w którym zbiory te są przechowywane, ale również od zastosowanych rozwiązań funkcjonalnych, architektonicznych czy konstrukcyjnych. Przykładem nowoczesnego budynku archiwalnego, nawiązującego w zakresie ww. rozwiązań do najlepszych przykładów obiektów przeznaczonych do zabezpieczania zasobów archiwalnych wybudowanych w Europie, jest Archiwum Narodowe w Krakowie.\u0000\u0000\u0000Security of archival materials in the concepts of modern archival buildings\u0000\u0000Archival buildings are increasingly being constructed in ways that help reduce energy consumption. This applies mainly to repositories, but in some cases also applies to other functional parts of the archive. By opting for environmentally friendly solutions, archives reduce their dependence on technical installations and thus achieve greater security of building use, in addition to reducing operating costs by reducing energy consumption. The archive building must be properly prepared for long-term storage of archival materials. It must also meet the requirements for a friendly public institution, well prepared to serve and meet the diverse needs of users in the field of state archives activities. The functions performed affect its design, equipment and the installations, technologies and functional solutions used. The state of preservation of collections collected, stored and accessed in archives is influenced by a wide variety of factors, and largely depends on the conditions of the internal environment in which the collections are stored, but also on the functional, architectural or structural solutions used. Their social character and universal accessibility should be paid to the aspect of their security also in the context of visits of the authorities of the Republic of Poland and delegations of foreign countries staying on the territory of our country. Ensuring the security of statutorily protected people is the scope of the tasks of the State Protection Service, which are carried out using forms of action and forms and methods of protection. Their selection is based on the results of conducted security threat analyses. Autorka dokonała przeglądu działalności edukacyjnej, naukowej i popularyzatorskiej AMW w obszarze MPHKZ. Poza tradycyjnym upowszechnianiem zasad ochrony dóbr kultury w ramach kształcenia z MPHKZ (w tym członków Sił Zbrojnych RP) AMW może się dodatkowo poszczycić dwoma własnymi przedsięwzięciami naukowymi, mającymi wymiar unikatowy w obrębie kraju: coroczną konferencją MPH (14 edycji) i rocznikiem Międzynarodowe Prawo Humanitarne (11 tomów). W latach 2020–2022 AMW wzięła udział w grancie EOG poświęconym wielosektorowym wyzwaniom ochrony dziedzictwa kultury na wypadek kryzysu lub wojny. W jego wyniku wydano nakładem Wydawnictwa Akademickiego AMW cztery publikacje pod zbiorczym tytułem Ochrona dóbr kultury w sytuacjach kryzysowych i konfliktach zbrojnych (dwutomowa monografia, kazusy i instrukcje oraz zbiory krajowych i międzynarodowych tekstów źródłowych) oraz opracowano interdyscyplinarny program studiów podyplomowych w powyższym obszarze. W lipcu 2022 roku przedmiotowe studia zostały utworzone na Akademii. Obecnie trwają prace nad pozyskaniem środków na realizację kolejnych projektów służących doskonaleniu krajowego systemu ochrony dóbr kultury w sytuacji szczególnych zagrożeń, w tym konfliktu zbrojnego. \u0000\u0000\u0000Dissemination of the principles of cultural heritage protection within the framework of international humanitarian law of armed conflict on the example of the Bohaterów Westerplatte Naval Academy in Gdynia\u0000\u0000The article presents the experience of the Naval Academy in Gdynia in disseminating the principles of the protection of cultural property within the framework of the International Humanitarian Law of Armed Conflict (IHLCHC). The author reviewed the Naval Academy’s educational, scientific and popularization activities in the area of IHLC. In addition to the traditional dissemination of the principles of the protection of cultural property as part of education with IHLCHC (including members of the Polish Armed Forces), the Naval Academy additionally boasts two of its own scientific ventures, which have a dimension unique within the country: the annual IHLCH conference (14 editions) and the yearbook “International Humanitarian Law” (11 volumes). In 2020–2022, the Naval Academy participated in an EEA grant dedicated to the multi-sectoral challenges of protecting cultural heritage in the event of crisis or war. As a result, 4 publications under the collective title “Protection of Cultural Property in Crises and Armed Conflicts” (a 2-volume monograph, case studies and manuals, and collections of national and international source texts) were published by the Naval Academic Publishing House, and an interdisciplinary program of postgraduate studies in the above area was developed. W kontekście omawianego bezpieczeństwa zwrócono szczególną uwagę na aspekt personalny odnoszący się w tym przypadku do konkretnej grupy zawodowej z powodu utrudnień, jakimi były: braki sprzętowe, niejasne procedury, zatajanie informacji czy też społeczny ostracyzm. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest zwrócenie uwagi na potrzebę zapewnienia bezpieczeństwa personalnego medyków, którzy podczas pandemii w szczególny sposób byli narażeni nie tylko na potencjalne zakażenie, ale również na obciążenie psychologiczne i fizyczne wynikające z nakładu pracy czy niesprzyjającego odbioru społecznego. Kwestie poruszone w niniejszym artykule stanowią jedynie wprowadzenie do szeroko rozumianej problematyki bezpieczeństwa personelu medycznego w czasie wykonywania procedur medycznych. Prowadzone obserwacje oraz zdobyte doświadczenie pozwoliły na przedstawienie w artykule najważniejszych aspektów pracy personelu medycznego w związku z pandemią COVID-19, z naciskiem na pierwsze tygodnie występowania wirusa SARS-CoV-2 w Polsce.\u0000\u0000\u0000Safety and the role of medics in the era of epidemic threat on the example of COVID-19 in Poland\u0000\u0000The subject of this paper is the safety and the role of medics of the health care system in Poland on the example of COVID-19 pandemic. In the context of the discussed safety, special attention was paid to the personal aspect, referring in this case to a specific professional group due to the impediments, which were: equipment shortages, unclear procedures, concealment of information, or social ostracism. The purpose of this article is to highlight the need to ensure the personal safety of medics, who during the pandemic were particularly vulnerable not only to potential infection, but also to the psychological and physical burden of the workload, or unfavorable public perception. The issues raised in this article are only an introduction to the broader issue of the safety of medical personnel during medical procedures. Od samego początku stało się jasne, że zmiany wynikające z wprowadzonych ograniczeń nie pozostaną obojętne dla działalności muzeów i galerii. Według przewidywań UNESCO z maja 2020 roku 10% muzeów dotkniętych skutkami pandemii miało nie zostać ponownie otwartych. To dotyczyło ogromnej liczby 8 550 muzeów, które mogły nigdy się nie otworzyć. Zderzenie instytucji kultury z nową rzeczywistością określono jako „dramatyczne” i nazwano „szokiem kulturowym”. Muzea musiały szybko zareagować na niespodziewane wydarzenia. COVID-19 uwypuklił wiele słabości organizacyjnych i infrastrukturalnych całego sektora. Jedną z nich była nieobecność lub jedynie niewielka obecność muzeów w sieci internetowej. Tymczasem to właśnie internet, w obliczu „przymusowego zamknięcia” budynków użyteczności publicznej, stał się jedynym możliwym kanałem pozwalającym na zachowanie ciągłości działalności w zakresie upubliczniania zbiorów. W wyniku przekształcenia wielu zaplanowanych wcześniej wydarzeń kulturalnych w ich wersje wirtualne cyfrowa tranzycja muzeów wydaje się głównym skutkiem oddziaływania pandemii na instytucje muzealne na polu ich kulturotwórczej działalności.\u0000\u0000\u0000Museums on the Internet in response to the „culture shock” of the COVID-19 pandemic\u0000\u0000The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the cultural sector worldwide has been severe. From the beginning, it became clear that the changes resulting from the restrictions would not be without an impact on the operations of museums and galleries. According to UNESCO’s May 2020 projections, 10% of the museums affected by the pandemic were not expected to reopen. This included a huge number of 8,550 museums that might never open. The collision of cultural institutions with the new reality was described as “dramatic” and called a “culture shock.” Museums had to react quickly to the unexpected. Covid-19 highlighted many organizational and infrastructural weaknesses throughout the sector. One of them was the absence or only a small presence of museums on the Internet. Meanwhile, it was the Internet that, in the face of the “forced closure” of public buildings, became the only possible channel to maintain the continuity of the business of making collections public.
