Carlink focused on technology testing and principles of service provision. During Carlink the mobile WLAN was not yet available and thus V2V and V2I communications were based on cellular connections. However some parts of the developments in Carlink were taken into use in the product offering of the partners. WiSafeCar was then able to concentrate on the proof of concept and further developed the Carlink services. WiSafeCar was for instance able to introduce a low-cost sensor solution, to utilize both standard IEEE 802.11p based mobile WLAN and cellular connection in communications, to introduce advanced road weather models and forecasts, to test Content Centric Networking in the field tests etc. The main focus of WiSafeCar was in the proof of co-operative concepts and services. When it comes to CoMoSeF that will be running until 2015, the aim is to create, implement and deploy co-operative mobility solutions, including devices and applications, supporting the objectives of the European Commission's ITS Action Plan and national ITS strategies. The European services will be piloted in Finland, Luxembourg, Poland, Romania, Russia, Sweden, Spain and Turkey. There will also be a pilot in South Korea. CoMoSeF will bring the existing and emerging sensors, service platforms, communication technologies and solutions closer to market introduction and create business models that promote and speed the deployment. This paper describes the work and achievements of the three projects.","PeriodicalId":380109,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 9th International Conference on Intelligent Computer Communication and Processing (ICCP)","volume":"71 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115711370","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We show how we can build graphs from opinions and social interactions and how we identify the community structure of these graphs. We handle both types of data: one-dimensional and multidimensional. As community detection method, we use the Infomap algorithm. The dimensions considered for identifying communities are one or many opinions and social attributes. We show how contradictions can be detected using the identified communities.","PeriodicalId":380109,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 9th International Conference on Intelligent Computer Communication and Processing (ICCP)","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122446618","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Exploring this huge design space and trying to optimize multiple objectives, like performance, power consumption and hardware complexity is a real challenge. In this paper, using the multi-objective design space exploration tool FADSE, we tried to optimize the hardware parameters of the complex superscalar Grid ALU Processor. We compared how different heuristic algorithms handle the DSE optimization. Three of these algorithms are taken from the jMetal library (NSGAII, SPEA2 and SMPSO) while the other two, CNSGAII and MOHC were implemented by us. We show that in this huge design space the differences between the best found individuals by every algorithm are very small, only the time in which they got to these solutions differs. In order to accelerate the DSE process we also did a feature selection through machine learning techniques and ran all DSE algorithms again with a smaller number of input parameters.","PeriodicalId":380109,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 9th International Conference on Intelligent Computer Communication and Processing (ICCP)","volume":"138 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121391168","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Image acquisition is performed using a pair of consumer market UVC cameras costing less than 80 Euros, lacking synchronization signal and without customizable optics. Nonetheless, the acquired point clouds are sufficiently accurate to perform object recognition using FPFH features. The recognition algorithm compares the point cluster extracted from the current image pair with the models contained in a dataset. Experiments show that the recognition rate is above 80% even when the object is partially occluded.","PeriodicalId":380109,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 9th International Conference on Intelligent Computer Communication and Processing (ICCP)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124497140","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The intelligent traffic system is implemented using road side units (RSU) with friction monitoring, vehicles with environmental sensors and a database for data transfer through different platforms. The system is able to collect sensor data from stationary RSU stations or moving vehicles and store it to the database. The test results indicate that the developed IcOR friction monitoring unit is able to distinguish the different road weather categories (ice, snow, wet and dry asphalt) with sufficient accuracy. Communication is implemented using a V2I/I2V IEEE 802.11p communication between RSUs and vehicles or 3G/4G mobile connections. In this article, we describe an implemented IoT ITS concept with current real-life implementation and future plans.","PeriodicalId":380109,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 9th International Conference on Intelligent Computer Communication and Processing (ICCP)","volume":"120 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115554515","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

But, if in case of querying traditional relational databases, the knowledge of complete structure was feasible, in case of Linked Data it is far more difficult to have an exhaustive view. From the perspective of facilitating the access to the data to end-users with no prior expertise, the most natural solution would be querying in natural language. But, from the technological point of view, Natural Language Processing still has many limitations. In this context, we introduce our first results towards a system for building SPARQL queries from NL sentences that is based on sentences' grammatical structure, general structural patterns and ontological descriptions. We focus on processing queries from pharmacology data of Bio2RDF project.","PeriodicalId":380109,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 9th International Conference on Intelligent Computer Communication and Processing (ICCP)","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128672175","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we present an efficient pipeline model for instruction scheduling in a retargetable compiler. Compared to existing retargetable compilers, this pipeline model: allows for instruction scheduling optimizations even for complex pipelines with multiple functional units, allows for simpler re-targetability for novel architectures and improves by 14% the average compile-time of applications for complex architectures. The applications compiled with our pipeline model show the same performance as compiled with a classic, “hand-written” compiler.","PeriodicalId":380109,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 9th International Conference on Intelligent Computer Communication and Processing (ICCP)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121732817","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The algorithm is based on the Ant Colony Optimization heuristic which is mapped and adapted to solve the current optimization problem. Each agent will leave a virtual pheromone trail during its movement through the unknown region, either attractor or repellent, represented by a positive or negative value, that decays in time. A novel stimergy technique is used to coordinate the agents' behavior when deciding to follow or to move away from the pheromone trail, depending on the pheromone value. For exploring the unknown areas a combination of a greedy technique based on the concept of rejection vector and a probabilistic technique for selecting the agents' rotating angles are employed. The obtained results are promising showing that our solution manages to obtain a coverage with up to 40% higher than classic rejection algorithm and with up to 25% that the distributed rejection algorithm.","PeriodicalId":380109,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 9th International Conference on Intelligent Computer Communication and Processing (ICCP)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130973987","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
