The Transformer model is a fully connected attention mechanism model that captures the global dependencies of data by calculating the correlation between any two items. This paper proposes a Transformer model based on local and global attention mechanisms. Firstly, after the data is standardized to eliminate the impact of different dimensions, positional encoding is used to mark the position information. Then, the data is divided into two equal parts from the feature dimension. One part enters the standard attention mechanism to capture the global information of the sequence, and the other part enters the local attention mechanism to capture the local information of the sequence, Then, the captured local information and global information are fused to reduce computational complexity and compensate for the shortcomings of the Transformer model in capturing local information. By applying the model proposed in this paper to the penicillin fermentation process for fault detection, it has been experimentally verified that the proposed model has an improved fault detection accuracy compared to the standard Transformer model.","PeriodicalId":379926,"journal":{"name":"Scholars Journal of Engineering and Technology","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128496767","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Marshall properties are crucial for analysis of asphaltic concrete designed for road construction, Also, filler materials improves the properties of asphaltic concrete. Therefore, this study investigated the influence of oyster shell ash (OSA) on the Marshall properties of hot mix asphalt concrete. The Marshall properties analyzed include stability, flow, void in mineral aggregate (VMA), void in the mixture (VIM), void filled with asphalt (VFA), and Marshall Quotient (MQ). The research revealed that the addition of oyster shell ash enhanced the stability and flow of asphaltic concrete. VMA and VFA increased with increase in OSA content, while increase in asphalt content resulted in a decrease in VIM and increase in VFA. The optimum performance of the Marshall’s properties was recorded at 10% OSA and 5% asphalt content. The study also showed that the OSA-filled asphaltic concrete improved the performance of the OSA-filled asphalt concrete stability and stiffness compared to the sample without OSA. Moreover, OSA enhances the stiffness of the mixture, as reflected by the Marshall Quotient. Therefore, the findings highlighted the potential of oyster shell ash as a viable and sustainable filler material in asphaltic concrete.","PeriodicalId":379926,"journal":{"name":"Scholars Journal of Engineering and Technology","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125619758","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Virus-induced gene silencing (VIGS) is a powerful tool that has been used to study key genes in multiple plant growth and development processes. This technology uses the innate antiviral defense system of plants. And generates small interfering RNA (siRNA) in the plant by inserting the target gene fragment into the viral vector, so that the transcript of the endogenous gene of the plant becomes a target for degradation, resulting in the expression of the target gene being down-regulated. This paper systematically reviews the development, mechanism, and advantages of VIGS technology, focuses on the vectors that can be applied in grasses, and finally discusses the limitations and development trend of VIGS technology in the application of Gramineae.","PeriodicalId":379926,"journal":{"name":"Scholars Journal of Engineering and Technology","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121115620","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we propose an active stroke hand rehabilitation training method based on brain EMG signals, including the use of EEG signals to help stroke patients achieve brain neural remodelling and EMG signals to achieve real-time hand function rehabilitation training to assist patients to complete hand rehabilitation. Firstly, a multimodal guided motor imagery experimental paradigm with a mixture of pictures and Chinese characters was designed to improve the stability of the spontaneous motor imagery EEG signals. Then, a gesture acquisition paradigm based on surface EMG signals was designed to exercise the flexibility of stroke patients' arm muscles and fingers. The experimental results showed that the stroke hand rehabilitation training method based on brain-myoelectric signals could achieve better rehabilitation results.","PeriodicalId":379926,"journal":{"name":"Scholars Journal of Engineering and Technology","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130522735","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In most cities, the use of open dumps is common for the disposal of wastes, resulting in soil and water resource contamination. The study carried from March to May 2023.A Total of 30 households were studied for data collection (210 samples) from three types of family, low income, medium income and high income family using the random sample, out of 15 wards,8 wards were used for the sample selection. The study shows that the majority of the residents are very much concerned about the poor condition of the environment due to the inappropriate and improper SWM in Tuensang town. The residents are not much satisfied with the service of the town council in regard with SWM dumping in the hearts of Tuensang. There is no scientific engineered solid waste disposal site in the Tuensang town and the results can be a starting point in planning for such. This paper give the total waste generation in the household level, weekly and yearly per capita per day and and also give the types of solid waste generation in the town. Based on the findings of the study, researcher proposes that district and town needs to provide proper solid waste segregation awareness to the general citizen to every household. It may also encouraged citizens not to dispose of their household wastes randomly.","PeriodicalId":379926,"journal":{"name":"Scholars Journal of Engineering and Technology","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127720306","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Improper disposal and waste management have a grim effect on the surroundings and human health condition (physically & mentally). This study aims to assess solid waste management among households of Shamli district. Simple random and systematic sampling techniques were used to select 344 respondents for the study. Simple frequency and percentage method was used to analyze the data. Results indicates that public waste collection area was far from households as endorsed by the majority (51.5%) of the respondents. The majority (51.5%) of the households spanned a distance of more than 15 minutes arriving to the dumping spot. In conclusion, the study found that community household waste dumping zone was outlying from households. This indicates that the distance from the resident place to the final waste disposal area covered more than 15 minutes to complete the journey. Based on the major findings of the study, researcher proposes that district assembly needs to provide waste collection trash to every household. It may oblige the residents not to dispose of their household waste randomly.","PeriodicalId":379926,"journal":{"name":"Scholars Journal of Engineering and Technology","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122820910","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
