The subcooled liquid metal enters a counterflow heat exchanger, undergoes a phase change, and exits as superheated vapor. The sodium heating process occurs through heat exchange with superheated helium vapor in three phases: subcooled liquid, saturated vapor, and superheated vapor. This article analyzes the thermal and hydraulic performance of the three stages of the heat exchanger through thermal and viscous irreversibilities using analytical simulation. The solution obtained is based on applying the thermal efficiency method and the second law of thermodynamics. The thermodynamic Bejan number, the relationship between thermal irreversibility and total irreversibility, allows a cost-benefit analysis when determining thermal performance and viscous dissipation. The essential physical quantities used in the analysis are the lengths and internal diameters of the three segments of the heat exchanger. The results are analyzed and compared with previous analytical work published in the literature. Numerical and graphical results are obtained for temperature profiles, thermal effectiveness, heat transfer rate, thermal irreversibilities, pressure drops, viscous irreversibilities, entropy generation rate, and Bejan numbers. To grow rice more scientifically and greenly, plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) has developed rapidly as a new control method for plant diseases. The discovery of PGPR is an essential process in biological control research. PGPR has many species, excellent biological traits, diverse antagonistic mechanisms, and a wide range of parasitism, which is an essential biological control method to solve the excessive application of chemical fertilizers and pesticides in rice production and has broad development prospects. In this paper, we summarize the research progress of PGPR application to rice and other plants in recent years, expound on the direct and indirect mechanisms, and look forward to the development trend of follow-up research in order to provide a theoretical reference for the in-depth study and better application of biocontrol bacteria.","PeriodicalId":379926,"journal":{"name":"Scholars Journal of Engineering and Technology","volume":"48 7 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139241320","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A building code recognized as the Bangladesh National Building Code (BNBC) is existent in Bangladesh (BD), just like in other developing nations. It's now a difficult task to comply with the code because of the extensive update after two decades. The main goal of this work is to compare the analytical and design requirements for lateral loads between BNBC2020 and BNBC1993. To do so, a large number of structural models are assessed using ETABS following the considered code procedure at different locations in the country. It also compares the lateral load parameters such as zone coefficient, wind velocity, building period, story shear, base shear, drift, deflection, reinforcement ratio etc. The parametric comparison of the outcomes has demonstrated that BNBC2020 is more conservative and boosts the safety factor against lateral loads. Engineers will be able to comprehend the differences in lateral load between these codes after perusing this study.","PeriodicalId":379926,"journal":{"name":"Scholars Journal of Engineering and Technology","volume":"6 2 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139251793","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Created by Colonel John Boyd in a military setting, the OODA (Observe, Orient, Decide, and Act) loop has expanded into a flexible framework for enhancing observability in various areas. This study improves observability and decision-making by applying OODA concepts and procedures in software engineering and business. These domains work together to guarantee smooth workflows in the age of Industry 4.0 and disruptive technology breakthroughs when observability is essential to success. The OODA cycle in software engineering allows engineers to gather information, comprehend context, make logical decisions, and take appropriate action to maximize system security and performance. The “Observe” phase focuses on metrics, logs, events, including data collection, monitoring, and real-time analysis. The “Orient” phase emphasises how crucial anomaly detection and data visualization are to comprehending context. While the “Act” phase handles automation and the implementation of enhancements, the “Decide” phase directs engineers to optimize systems and increase security. From operational indicators to market trends and consumer feedback, the OODA loop helps businesses make data-driven decisions by collecting information during the “Observe” phase. The “Orient” phase helps organizations comprehend customer preferences and market dynamics by analysing data and spotting trends. The “Act” phase makes it easier to implement selected plans, while the “Decide” phase aids in strategic decision-making and resource allocation.","PeriodicalId":379926,"journal":{"name":"Scholars Journal of Engineering and Technology","volume":"46 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139252613","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
