Crantz trough the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI). This agro-environmental monitoring technique allows to follow the evolution of the vigor of the camelina crops and to keep track on the crop during its life cycle. We used this technique to assess and estimate the growing and yield of each one of the varieties before harvesting, and study if they were significant differences that could lead to a prediction in the final seed yield. Statistical results showed that there were significant differences on the NDVI index of each variety and correlation between the acquisition techniques, but there was no correlation between the NDVI index and the final yield of each variety.","PeriodicalId":379304,"journal":{"name":"2019 Sixth International Conference on Internet of Things: Systems, Management and Security (IOTSMS)","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130722011","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This increases their ability for perpetual operation and is a step towards maintenance-free IoT. In this paper we consider how to accelerate the collection of relevant training data for nodes that are introduced into an existing deployment to increase the accuracy of their predictions. In particular, we investigate how nodes powered by solar energy can learn their energy intake faster and more accurately by using data from selected nodes that are working in similar conditions. We explore an architecture that utilizes different training data selection policies to manage the learning processes. For validation, we perform a case study to explore how nodes with correlated data can contribute to the learning process of other nodes. The obtained results indicate that this approach improves the accuracy of the predictions of a new node by 14%.","PeriodicalId":379304,"journal":{"name":"2019 Sixth International Conference on Internet of Things: Systems, Management and Security (IOTSMS)","volume":"312-315 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130861866","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

MEC can host a set of predefined services or it can dynamically deploy services as requests come from the users. In a typical scenario, mobile users identify the closest MEC node to them and interact with it, however, as they are moving the same service needs to be able to follow them in order to provide service continuity. This problem has been already addressed by phone operators, however, as MEC allows third-party service providers to deploy their applications on top of MEC, new challenges arise. High among them are availability and security. In this paper, we present a blockchain based MEC management with the goal of efficiently guaranteeing service continuity in a secure and timely manner. We propose an architecture and its implementation to validate three main scenarios.","PeriodicalId":379304,"journal":{"name":"2019 Sixth International Conference on Internet of Things: Systems, Management and Security (IOTSMS)","volume":"66 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128346912","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, the reliable data communication improves the confidentiality. As, enhanced security leads to reliable and faster communication. To improve the reliability and confidentiality, there is dire need of fully secured authentication method. There are several methods of password protections were introduced to protect the confidentiality and reliability. Most of the existing methods are based on alphanumeric approaches, but few methods provide the dual authentication process. In this paper, we introduce improved graphical password authentication using Twofish Encryption and Visual Cryptography (TEVC) method. Our proposed TEVC is unpredictably organized as predicting the correct graphical password and arranging its particles in the proper order is harder as compared to traditional alphanumeric password system. TEVC is tested by using JAVA platform. Based on the testing results, we confirm that proposed TEVC provides secure authentication. TEVC encryption algorithm detected as more prudent and possessing lower time complexity as compared to other known existing algorithms message code confirmation and fingerprint scan with password.","PeriodicalId":379304,"journal":{"name":"2019 Sixth International Conference on Internet of Things: Systems, Management and Security (IOTSMS)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126464420","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The applications involving the Internet of Things (IoT) concept have been growing around the world. Concerning the problems found in cities with large populations, the IoT applications aim technological solutions that improve the population living conditions. Most traffic light controller systems are locally programmed. In this case, to control all traffic lights in a city, besides to be a slow task, it is not possible to determine the traffic light’s operating state. In some cases a centralized control is used, allowing information exchange with all traffic lights on the network. This paper seeks to study and develop a traffic light controller electronic circuit, with centralized control topology, able to communicate with other wireless network traffic lights. All characteristics of the designed circuit were evaluated by practical system control and monitoring tests. Finally, the electronic circuit proved to be viable in terms of smart cities applications.","PeriodicalId":379304,"journal":{"name":"2019 Sixth International Conference on Internet of Things: Systems, Management and Security (IOTSMS)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114389551","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The fifth generation of mobile networks and solutions promises low latency as well as high bandwidth and reliability, parameters that are highly demanded in order to support the needs of advanced healthcare. It is undeniable that what is needed is the transformation of the healthcare providerspatients relationship, by integrating rich-media communications into medical care. A key challenge though, it the amount of medical data and the way they are transmitted and processed. The different formats, rates and size of datasets, are continuously increasing, raising up the need for an e-health system that would be smart and efficient. At the same time, it should incorporate and facilitate the requirements of approaches that aim at analyzing the medical data, towards efficient healthcare. Taking advantage of the emerging 5G capabilities, network slicing has been envisioned as a promising solution on the heterogeneous medical data requirements and their diverse constraints. In this paper we propose an innovative eHealth system powered by 5G network slicing, in order to meet the requirements for the establishment of an efficient network with high capacity. In this context, healthcare data are collected and managed, inside isolated slices for the generation of holistic patients view, while increasing the awareness, concerning patients’ health.","PeriodicalId":379304,"journal":{"name":"2019 Sixth International Conference on Internet of Things: Systems, Management and Security (IOTSMS)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114727931","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It allows developers to create smart contracts - small computer programs that sit on the blockchain. These programs can be written in programming languages like solidity and are executed by the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). Since Ethereum is a public blockchain, all the data of the blockchain is available publicly. However, getting smart contract data is a tedious process and public data-sets for smart contracts are not available for further analysis.Therefore, in this work, we collect a total of 1.9M smart contracts till the block height of 7.1M, and provide a first of its kind analysis across different parameters like duplicity, ether balance, ether moved, etc. We observe that across all these different parameters, only a small fraction of the smart contracts are dominant. We label such 2900 dominant contracts as the ‘Contracts of Importance’ and use it for further analysis using the various tools available to give us an insight into the vulnerability trends and patterns in smart contracts.","PeriodicalId":379304,"journal":{"name":"2019 Sixth International Conference on Internet of Things: Systems, Management and Security (IOTSMS)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122174199","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Combining the advanced algorithms and some smart hardware material, we will be finding a way to search for a missing individual in a crowd or at some location. We can also search for a person at a specific location by setting our aerial vehicle to fly autonomously and search for the required person. This will help us to cover areas which cannot be reached by humans easily. The flying robot helps to solve real-time problems and come up with some new and more advanced ways to search for the missing ones with more ease, as advanced technological methods are applied, the probability of getting accurate results increases axiomatically. The drone can fly fully autonomously and search or capture videos/photos of the required location. The health sector is such an example where patients privacy is not respected, and sensitive data like prescription dosages, medical bill amounts, and their entire medical history are leaked online without any encryption. We designed, implemented and deployed an architecture in this research where we tried to use Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Hyperledger fabric and simulated workflow of healthcare sector while ensuring that patients’ medical records are in complete control of patient only. Hyperledger fabric [1], which is a blockchain framework, provides integrity to the medical records, which can be verified at any later point of time. Proxy re-encryption [2] has been used to provide medical records access to others but only with permission from the patient. Besides patients and hospitals, this architecture also involves other institutions like insurance companies and pharmacies to provide various services to the patients. Lastly, we performed some performance experiments on the architecture to check the throughput and latencies.","PeriodicalId":379304,"journal":{"name":"2019 Sixth International Conference on Internet of Things: Systems, Management and Security (IOTSMS)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129651257","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, device vendors provide no guarantees of security or privacy of their gadgets, nor can such things be measured by consumers. By now, there have been many incidents of vulnerable devices being sold and real-world attacks. Despite proposals for improving the quality of consumer devices, vulnerable devices are likely to remain in use, with it being highly difficult to replace or patch their hardware or software. In this paper, we set out to design a mitigation framework so that home networks can be made resilient to vulnerable devices. First, we select a representative collection of home IoT devices with different functions, and investigate their security and privacy, discovering a range of exploitable flaws. Then we design a framework based on a dedicated router, firewall, an IoT control platform and other mechanisms, which allows mitigation of current and potential future vulnerabilities. The framework is designed to be adaptable and extensible for all kinds of devices. We implement this framework and evaluate it against the sample devices, finding that it can indeed prevent most of the known exploits and the new exploits we found. Based on this study, we make some design suggestions for the future enhanced home cyber-security platforms.","PeriodicalId":379304,"journal":{"name":"2019 Sixth International Conference on Internet of Things: Systems, Management and Security (IOTSMS)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130279951","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
