Initially, the paper presents the notable advancements ChatGPT has achieved in facilitating interactive learning and providing real-time feedback, along with the academic community’s growing interest in this technology. Subsequently, summarizing the research outcomes of ChatGPT’s applications in nursing education, including various clinical disciplines and scenarios, showcases the enormous potential for multidisciplinary education and addressing clinical issues. Comparing the performance of several Large Language Models (LLMs) on China’s National Nursing Licensure Examination, we observed that ChatGPT demonstrated a higher accuracy rate than its counterparts, providing a solid theoretical foundation for its application in Chinese nursing education and clinical settings. Educational institutions should establish a targeted and effective regulatory framework to leverage ChatGPT in localized nursing education while assuming corresponding responsibilities. Through standardized training for users and adjustments to existing educational assessment methods aimed at preventing potential misuse and abuse, the full potential of ChatGPT as an innovative auxiliary tool in China’s nursing education system can be realized, aligning with the developmental needs of modern teaching methodologies.

","PeriodicalId":37848,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Nursing Sciences","volume":"11 2","pages":"Pages 295-299"},"PeriodicalIF":3.8,"publicationDate":"2024-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2352013224000231/pdfft?md5=8cd329ac4ad23bd15f7798f26a69d4d2&pid=1-s2.0-S2352013224000231-main.pdf","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140088883","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"医学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We identified pharmacological interventions (such as oxygen therapy and inhalation treatments) and non-pharmacological approaches (including educational programs, breathing exercises, fluid intake management, body awareness techniques, peer support, emotional intelligence training, and the use of web applications). Those interventions empower patients, improve their ability to fulfill life roles, mitigate emotional distress, and improve overall quality of life. Nursing care can be crucial in enabling individuals to achieve independence and autonomy in self-care.

Conclusions

Promoting self-management for chronic dyspnea in complex chronic patients requires a holistic approach, encompassing multidisciplinary interventions, individualized self-care education, peer engagement, and technological support. A total of 126 MHD patients were randomly assigned to either the intervention group (n = 64) or the control group (n = 62). Patients in the intervention group consumed approximately 250 g of bananas during hemodialysis, while those in the control group did not consume any food during hemodialysis. Demographic information and hemodialysis-related parameters were collected through case information collection before hemodialysis. Laboratory indicators (such as complete blood count, biochemical indicators, inflammation markers, liver function, kidney function, etc.) were evaluated by collecting pre-hemodialysis blood samples from patients. Serum potassium and blood glucose levels were measured at 2 h and 4 h of hemodialysis, as well as before the next hemodialysis session, and hemodialysis-related complications were recorded. The blood potassium and blood glucose indicators during hemodialysis were compared using repeated measures analysis.

Results

A total of 122 MHD patients completed the study (61 in each group). The risk analysis included in cohort studies was based on the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale (NOS).

Results

The study included a total of 15 articles, comprising 34,186 knee and hip replacement patients. In this review, the effects of continuous nursing on the recovery of joint function of knee replacement and hip replacement in older adults were classified and discussed. Continuous nursing interventions targeted for total hip replacement could greatly increase the range of joint mobility, enhance muscle strength during hip movements like flexion, extension, and abduction, maintain joint stability, relieve pain, improve daily activities, and lower the risk of complications. For older patients with knee arthroplasty, continuous nursing programs could markedly improve knee motion range, joint flexion, joint stability, daily activities, and pain management. Despite the implementation of interventions, the incidence of complications caused by total knee replacement did not decrease. Out of all the studies reviewed, only one used a theoretical framework for interventions provided to patients during the postoperative period of hip arthroplasty. The overall quality of the included studies was very high.

Conclusion

Continuous nursing can effectively improve the joint function of older patients after joint replacement. However, its effectiveness in terms of clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and medical cost of associated continuous nursing needs to be further clarified. In addition, continuous nursing has no significant advantage in the safety of postoperative complications and readmission rates in older adults after knee joint replacement. To enhance the efficacy and safety of continuous nursing effectively, it is crucial to refine the continuous nursing program in the future, thereby elevating the quality of nursing services.

","PeriodicalId":37848,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Nursing Sciences","volume":"11 2","pages":"Pages 286-294"},"PeriodicalIF":3.8,"publicationDate":"2024-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2352013224000309/pdfft?md5=90c03c91ef0bd8149eb1196af090a6ba&pid=1-s2.0-S2352013224000309-main.pdf","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140271479","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"医学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They described how a group environment influences individual behavior); Drawing your own path (this method provides a medium for self-expression and self-knowledge through drawing, improving well-being through emotional expression, enhancing creativity, and increasing self-confidence).

Conclusions

By practicing Zentangle®, patients achieve behavioral responses such as flexibility and adaptability, reaching greater emotional well-being through anxiety management, impulse control, learning to cope with problems, or improving self-esteem or concentration.
