Improving the technology of lasers has realize good results in tattoo removal but complications sometime are not rare as we think. Removing a tattoo is a delicate and prolonged process; therefore, it is important to raise awareness amongst the most predisposed groups.","PeriodicalId":377666,"journal":{"name":"JOJ Dermatology & Cosmetics","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115068278","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With increasing information, eyebrow transplant has become a prevalent technique. Though it is a small area still requires a lot of precision, knowledge and aesthetic skill regarding anatomy, designing of brows, extraction and implantation technique. In this paper, we performed many cases of eyebrow reconstuction including revision by our own implanter. The cases analyzed in this paper were corrected only by transplantation of occipical donor hair without laser hair removal nor tattoos. This article gives a comprehensive view regarding how to correct previously unsatisfactory eyebrow transplant with special emphasis on several points as hair follicle density, eyebrow shape, entire or partially reconstruction, which has become the most skillful technique.","PeriodicalId":377666,"journal":{"name":"JOJ Dermatology & Cosmetics","volume":"110 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114610690","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recently, we focused on physical nature of ceramic, which emit far-infrared ray upon heating. Accordingly, we developed ceramic beads, whose electromagnetic wave profiles are almost identical to those of a black body, a perfect far-infrared radiator. A bathtub, equipped with computerized hot water circulation system, was first filled with the ceramic beads. Those beads in the bathtub were heated by circulating hot water at 50 ℃ which was drained out thereafter, and then a bather was laid in a supine position and covered with the heated ceramic beads in depth of 5-10 cm except the facial-cranial region and sandbathed for 15 minutes. In this minireview, we briefly overview the physiological response to the far-infrared sandbathing and the immune impacts. Finally, some discussion was done for the logical and mechanical basics and future therapeutic possibilities.","PeriodicalId":377666,"journal":{"name":"JOJ Dermatology & Cosmetics","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127894946","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We present a case of a 47 y.o African American male with post I-131 hypothyroidism for Graves disease that presented with enlarging bilateral lower extremity and ankle lesions. Examination revealed firm, tender, hemispherical, large, hyperpigmented nodules. Ultrasound demonstrated nonspecific hypovascular nodular thickening of the skin. Excisional biopsy showed reactive dermal and subcutaneous fibrosis with dermal mucinosis. Alcian blue stain confirmed the diagnosis. Graves’ dermopathy is generally rare, with the nodular variant accounting for 10% of cases. Our case reflects a variable appearance of post-I-131 treatment dermopathy partially resistant to the multimodal treatment.","PeriodicalId":377666,"journal":{"name":"JOJ Dermatology & Cosmetics","volume":"180 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124519799","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Introduction: Skin wrinkling is hypothesized as an adaptive phenomenon that is generated as an evolutionary process. Water immersion induced wrinkling is a non-invasive test graded from 0-5 that involves placing one’s hands into lukewarm water for a set amount of time. Despite the increased interest in skin rejuvenation, a baseline study describing the variation in water immersion induced hand wrinkling is still missing. Objectives: To induce Wrinkling in patients with Dermatoses under standard conditions. To assess the water immersion induced wrinkling in normal population Methods: This is an observational study done in 80 medical students who attended dermatology posting at the department of Dermatology in Amala Institute of Medical Sciences for a period of ten months. The subject’s both hands were placed in tap water for to elicit wrinkling. The data was analyzed using statistical methods: Student’s unpaired t test, ANOVA test, Kruskal Wallis test. Results: Out of 80 students females’ participants took longer to develop water immersion induced wrinkles compared to males. Conclusion: There is a significant variation in the wrinkling pattern with respect to gender. The role of estrogen was a novel observation.","PeriodicalId":377666,"journal":{"name":"JOJ Dermatology & Cosmetics","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126502417","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
