Dynamic fracture behavior is one of them, which generates a change in the value of fracture aperture and even a variation in the anisotropy of permeability. In this paper, we focus on the dynamic behavior of fractures and some affecting factors, in- cluding driving pressure and in-situ stress. Numerical discrete fracture network (DFN) models are built and solved by the finite element method to investigate what the range-ability the fracture presents and what impact these affecting factors have. In these mathematical models, both dynamic fractures and the fluid-solid coupling are taken into account, and a stress-strain model, a flow field model and a fluid-solid coupling model are included. Based on the models, the variation of fracture aperture in pressure sensitive reservoirs is studied and the results show that a different direction and connectivity of fractures lead fracture dilation to varying degrees as pressure changes so that the idea of anisotropic frac- ture porosity is proposed for reservoir scale simulation. The study also indicates that the drop of formation pressure de- termines the conductivity of fractures and anisotropy of permeability but just has a slight impact on the direction of prin- cipal permeability. Finally, the study shows the interaction of the in-situ stress pressure and the fracture field.","PeriodicalId":377053,"journal":{"name":"The Open Petroleum Engineering Journal","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114813363","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, in this paper, we concentrate the problem of weld pool surface 3D reconstruction, which is a key issue in intelligent welding machines development. Firstly, the framework of the weld pool surface 3D reconstruction system is described. The weld pool surface 3D reconstruction system uses a single camera stereo vision system to extract original data from weld pool, and then the left and right image are collected. Afterwards, we utilize Pixel difference square and matching algorithm and Stereo matching algorithm to process images. Next, the 3D reconstruction of weld pool surface is constructed using the point cloud data. Secondly, stereo matching based weld pool surface 3D reconstruction algorithm is illustrated. In this al- gorithm, the matching cost function is computed through the Markov random field, and then the weighted matching cost is calculated via the guided filter. Thirdly, to test the performance of our proposed algorithm, we develop an experimental platform to measure weld pool width, length, convexity and the previous inputs based on a linear model predictive con- troller. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed 3D reconstruction algorithm of weld pool surface can achieve high quality under both current disturbance and speed disturbance.","PeriodicalId":377053,"journal":{"name":"The Open Petroleum Engineering Journal","volume":"71 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130484062","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Taking the actual productive process of a heavy oil reservoir as an example, a physical model for the vertical heterogeneity was established. First, under the initial reservoir conditions, conduct multiple rounds of steam stimulations to obtain the initial reservoir conditions of steam drive, and then carry out physical simulation of steam drive, including the simulation of the horizontal reservoir and the tilted one. The development of temperature field and the oil-water output changes indicate that when the steam drive is conducted after the steam stimulations, the steam advances along the high permeability layer with better steam stimulation effect, once it gets a breakthrough, the swept volume will not change. For the tilted reservoir, due to the beneficial effects of the gravity drainage, its displacement effect is better than the horizontal one, which provides an important basis for the adjustment of layers and the section of methods of gas injection when the steam simulation is converted into steam drive.","PeriodicalId":377053,"journal":{"name":"The Open Petroleum Engineering Journal","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125492084","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Compared to traditional point source functions, volumetric source function has many advantages in properties of function and programming calculation. A practical example of fractured horizontal well of open-hole and cased-hole is simulated, result shows flow rates of two cases have significant difference at early time, since benefit of production of horizontal well; but it also causes additional pressure, which has disadvantage in the productivity. The difference of productivity of fractured horizontal wells with different completion is decided by the interaction of horizontal well’s production and additional pressure drop, which has advantage and disadvantage in the open-hole case respectively. As a result, methods to cause additional pressure drop more seriously such as increasing number, length or conductivity of hydraulic fractures, would reduce the difference; methods to enhance horizontal well’s production such as better reservoir flow capacity, would raise the difference.","PeriodicalId":377053,"journal":{"name":"The Open Petroleum Engineering Journal","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122282274","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Various types of association of coal and oil shale can be found in one basin, for instance, the coal can act as the roof or floor or interlayer of the oil shale, etc. The most crucial factor for the formation of oil shale is stratification and seasonal blooming of lower plankton, while the final formation of the coal still needs a hypoxia restored deposition environment. We take Huangxian and Fushun basins as typical examples to study the coal and oil shale sedimentary mechanisms controlled by the boundary fault. We found that the sedimentary mechanisms are different in different stages during the process of basin evolution. In the early stage, the association of coal and oil shale with thinner layers can be found. In the late part of early stage, thick layer coal seams and oil shale can be formed because of the relative stable faults. In the middle stage, thicker oil shale can be formed in deep lake and thicker coal seams can be formed in the lacustrine shore. In the late stage of basin evolution, the association of thickest coal seams and oil shale can be formed as the stable tectonic environment. Compared with the depression ba- sin, more active fault and short cycle subsidence controlled by the episodic tectonic movements are the obvious character- istics. Higher rate of tectonic subsidence and a vast difference between sedimentary (peat-bearing) supply rate and ac- commodation space change rate are in favor of forming oil shale, and slower rate of tectonic subsidence is favor of form- ing coal. The study found that faulted structures obviously control the development, thickness and distribution characteris- tics of oil shale and coal. As mentioned above, the episodic tectonic movement of continental rift basin controls the types and filling and evolution of deposits.","PeriodicalId":377053,"journal":{"name":"The Open Petroleum Engineering Journal","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130732812","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
