Inspired by the functional form of most path loss models, a linear combination of power functions centered on a specific number of centroids is proposed to model the received signal power at each location over a geographical area of interest, and then the weights, centroid locations and exponent are jointly optimized using an iterative alternating minimization method. The superior performance of the proposed algorithm is verified via simulations by comparing with existing non-parametric algorithm in term of normalized mean square error.","PeriodicalId":376960,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC EUROPE)","volume":"81 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122547065","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A design method is also established for the proposed circuit to control the transmission zeroes. Based on the concept, a common-mode filter can be easily designed as broadband suppressing type or high-level suppressing type. Both of the two types are implemented in low-temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) fabrication as a component with a compact size of 3 ⨯ 2.3 mm2. The broadband one has a −10 dB stopband from 1.3 GHz to 5.25 GHz and the other one can reduce the common-mode noise over 20 dB from 2.25 GHz to 5.0 GHz. In addition, both of the two designs are with good signaling quality for differential mode.","PeriodicalId":376960,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC EUROPE)","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128006316","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a result induced voltages can lead to a misinterpretation of the measured voltage curve which is essential for the whole development process of components like surge protective devices (SPD). To investigate the influence of the magnetic coupling a test setup, consisting of a surge current generator and a conductor arrangement representing the device under test (DUT), is implemented. A printed circuit board (PCB) with different conductor loops specifically designed for the investigation is used as a probe to measure the voltage drop across the conductor. Additionally, the conductor loops provide a well-defined coupling behaviour. The area which is permeated by the magnetic flux can be adjusted in order to evaluate the influence of the conductor loop-area on the induced voltage. Furthermore, the injected impulse current is varied to analyse the effect of the respective current value on the parasitic coupling in the measurement setup. For a deeper understanding of the magnetic coupling behaviour a field simulation of the test setup is carried out. The parametrised simulation model is validated by the respective measurements. In further studies the obtained results could be used for a more exact determination of the voltage drop solely across the DUT due to the fact that the parasitic induced voltages can be considered separately in the simulation process.","PeriodicalId":376960,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC EUROPE)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121445074","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two stirring actions are considered: the first one is the traditional mechanical stirring, obtained by rotating a Z-folded metallic paddle; the second technique is realized by inserting two of monopoles into the chamber's wall and subsequently varying their position, so changing the electromagnetic field configuration inside the cavity. A statistical analysis of the scattering parameters is reported, so the chamber is characterized by a wide set of parameters.","PeriodicalId":376960,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC EUROPE)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121449974","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such a failure may occur if the electromagnetic constraint reaches a threshold that is likely to produce a dysfunction. Due to the production variability of electric / electronic equipment under analysis, its susceptibility level may be considered as a random variable. Estimation of its distribution through susceptibility measurements of a limited set of available equipment is required. We compare the performance of the Bayesian Inference (BI) and the Maximum Likelihood Inference (MLI) according to their ability to choose the true distribution for different sample size, when the true distribution is theoretically known. Then we compare the performance of the BI and the MLI on a virtual electronic device for which the true distribution is not known a priori. We finally discuss the respective benefits of BI and MLI in estimating the failure probability of equipment.","PeriodicalId":376960,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC EUROPE)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128645430","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

When exposed to an external electric field, the resonance frequency of the resonator shifts due to the variation of the capacitance of a diode varactor that is mounted on the sensor. The sensor is designed to work in the ISM band and demonstrates a high loaded quality factor of more than 200. An interrogation system has been developed that is capable of rapidly measuring the resonance frequency of the resonator and determine the waveform of the external electric field at a rate of 100 kHz. The interrogator sends pulses of radio frequency signals to the sensor and determines the resonant frequency from the ring back that is emitted by the resonator.","PeriodicalId":376960,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC EUROPE)","volume":"76 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117226668","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
