Moreover, they have the ability to generate and store energy, keep track of the wearer's health, and react to varying situations. Conductive polymers, metal-wrapped yarns, as well as, carbon nanotubes with silver, copper, and gold nanoparticles are used in a variety of yarn structures to design circuits, switches, and fabrics directly. Knitting, stitching, embroidery, and other integration techniques are used to combine electronic components and electrical interconnects to develop flexible electronic clothing and smart wearables. For this purpose, controlled sensors, actuators, conductive embroidered or printed fabric, planer yarn, data transfer devices, conductive inks, electromagnetic shielding, power supply, and other components are incorporated in e-textiles design. Despite the progress made so far, wearable e-textiles still, lack the required performance and device features along with the issues related to complex fabrication techniques, end-of-life processing and sustainability. Hence, this review aims to discuss the recent developments, which address the future challenges concerning electronic (e-textiles).","PeriodicalId":376745,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Design and Textiles","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126050104","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Physical properties, namely areal density depend on the ratio of knit, tuck, and miss stitches. The higher the ratio of touch stitches, the higher would be the areal density of the knitted fabric. Double Lacoste had a higher ratio of touch stitches and single jerseys had a zero ratio of tuck stitches. Noticeably, the double Lacoste had the highest areal density, whereas the single jersey had the lowest areal density among all knitted fabrics. Therefore, areal density was inversely proportional to the loop length. Mechanical properties such as tensile strength and bursting strength also depend upon the type and length of the loop. The knit loop had the highest tensile and bursting strength, which decreased as the ratio of touch stitches increased. Air permeability increased with the increasing ratio of tuck stitches and reduced when the fabric contains 100% of the knit loops.","PeriodicalId":376745,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Design and Textiles","volume":"23 10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115016042","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main challenge in addressing Thanatophobia (Knowing Death) lies in its abstract nature. Furthermore, identifying death anxiety concretely and expressing it in a visual medium is a major challenge. Instead of literal representations of the subject, we’ve overcame this problem by utilizing designed images and sound metaphorically to elicit particular emotional reactions in the audience. While the topic of death anxiety is discussed through interviews, the emotional reactions reflect our own personal journey through it. This study utilized phenomenological approach combining interviews with analysis of artifacts and workshops in two phases. The study further sheds light on how clothing can address and cater to their unique requirements. In the modern world, branding and fashion have grown to be significant forces. The research adopted the Consumer Needs Model for Functional Expressive Aesthetics (FEA) as a framework for creating clothing that appeals to thanatophobic women. The study employed a sequential method, starting with an initial interview phase, followed by the creation of prototype garments, and concluding with a prototype evaluation survey administered to the research participants. phenomenological approach, combining interviews with analysis of artifacts and workshops, has been adopted.","PeriodicalId":376745,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Design and Textiles","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124053227","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In today’s world, digital grounds have transformed storybooks into animated illustrations. In particular, famous studios like Disney are producing movies out of them to attract and influence millions of children. However, moral based stories have always been in demand to teach children that how to pay heed to the elder’s advice. Also, how to morally transform their behavior in a positive manner. Khel Tale is a modern version of animated storybook application for children to play which asks them to pick one of the main characters of their own choice, out of the story. Thus, children enjoy the consequences of making those choices at the end of the story. It is a choice based animated storybook that plays 3D animation clips in order to narrate the whole story to children through pictorial illustrations. The main purpose of this mobile application is to teach children regarding the importance of obeying the instructions of their elders through decision-based 3D animated stories. The application runs in landscape mode and is divided into further episodes. The content of each episode covers a small lesson for children. An episode begins by playing a fixed 3D animation video clip, and later on it offers two choices to children in order to particularly conclude the episode either with a good choice or a bad choice. Later, children can also see the consequences of their choices and actions in the story. The basic concept of this application revolves around a thought that mostly children are fascinated by the characters they observe in cartoons and read in stories. Hence, they start relating them to those characters. This concept is evolved by combining the approach of teaching to children through 3D animated stories where they can choose the characters to see the reaction of not listening to their elders. They also observe that what reward they can get if they actually act patient and listen to what elders advised them. Hence, the current study regarding Khel Tale application concludes it with the effectiveness. \u0000Index Terms: Animated storybook, audio dubbing, computer animations, Khel Tale, teaching good behavior, 3D and 2D visual models","PeriodicalId":376745,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Design and Textiles","volume":"79 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117252359","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To further aggravate the situation, the furthermost alarming threat is the fact that the ratio of blood donors in Pakistan is just less than 10% of the whole population. This is clearly insufficient to meet the high rising medical demands of the blood in emergency situations. In majority cases, the cause of patient demise in Pakistan is merely due to the sole reason that the blood donor cannot communicate with the recipients properly from any platform. The aim of this research project is to create awareness and motivation for people through a “Cost Free” blood donation application to donate the blood on just one click. The blood bank tab will provide the perfect path to find a potential person willing for the donation. By using maps, everyone can trace the blood banks according to the required need. Likewise, the recipients and the donors can be accessed from the application to find the nearest blood banks and the hospitals via using search bar.
