The study was carried out on the basis of a qualitative paradigm. The study group of the research consisted of 40 pre-service science teachers. In the current study, the application was conducted within the Laboratory Applications in Science I-II courses at two stages. The per stage was conducted in 14 weeks (four hours per weeks). The first stage of the process (14 weeks) started with a theoretical presentation introducing laboratory approaches and was conducted with the guidance of five experiment manuals designed on the basis of different laboratory approaches ranging from a confirmatory laboratory approach to an inquiry-based learning by the researcher. In the second stage, the pre-service teachers were asked to examine the units and objectives of the Science Curriculum Program and then were asked to select a laboratory approach and set the objectives to design an activity manual. The pre-service teachers worked for five weeks to determine the objectives, find the appropriate approach and design an experiment manual in line with the selected approach. Then, each group conducted the laboratory class under the guidance of their experiment manual that they had developed for each week. The data of the study was collected within two periods through the difficulties experienced, skills attained through the process, reflective texts presenting course-related suggestions and semi-structured interviews. The purpose of this paper is to explore whether the usage of online resources in blended learning courses influences their performance. The data comes from a Business Administration course (256 students). We use regression analyses to explain how Moodle platform usage influences academic performance in terms of both types of skills (theoretical and practical). The intensity of resources usage and their variety influence learning outcomes. Traditional music is, by nature, an oral tradition.  Learning traditional music among musicians was by non-formal education, i.e., by listening, observing and playing.  The transfer of skills and knowledge was carried out orally within the community of musicians. With the advent of formal music education in schools and universities, notation is now being used in part to facilitate and expedite the learning process. However, teaching certain traditional music using notation may not only be a misrepresentation of the authentic practice of this music but may also not give students the skills necessary in playing traditional music as opposed to playing in western ensembles. Establishing an accurate context for practical activities on the gamelan can provide not only a sound methodology but also allow for appropriate evaluation. This study examined the teaching approaches of selected Malay traditional music in Malaysian schools and universities. This study utilized a qualitative approach. Ten school and university gamelan instructors were interviewed on the nature of the transmission process of traditional music in the classroom.  Based on the responses provided by these respondents, it appears that the nature of the transmission process may not occur in the cultural context and that preservation is of the music and playing techniques. One way of teaching the NOS is to make use of the history of science. Interactive historical vignettes (IHV) that are based on the history of science, through which students can find many opportunities for discussion and that use the life stories of scientists, can be used as an effective technique in teaching the NOS. The purpose of the current study is to see how effective enhanced concept cartoons and visuals are in teaching the NOS and in contributing to students’ scientific thinking and argumentation. IHV enhanced with concept cartoons to develop understanding of the NOS were used by 23 fifth graders for five weeks. Developments in students’ conception of the NOS were analysed by examining video recordings and IHV documents. The findings show that the students’ conception of the NOS developed as a result of the application. Improvement was observed in the conception of NOS in 19 students out of 23. Of these 19 students, 13 participated more in discussions related to IHV and, over time, started to use statements more in compliance with the NOS. This is believed to be because the enrichment of IHV with concept cartoons and visuals enabled the students to think more scientifically and thus improved the discussion atmosphere in the class. In the study, pretest-posttest design, one group of pre-trial model, was used. The participants of the research consisted of 8 students with MID. To the students at the beginning of the study, \"Mathematics Achievement Test\", \"Mathematics Attitude Scale\" and “Concept Acquisition Interview” pretest - posttest was applied. The data obtained from the achievement test and attitude scale were analyzed by using rank test signed non-parametric Wilcoxon on SPSS 16.0 software. As described in the paper, teacher-student working mode differs from university education to pre-university education. Therefore, it should be permanently reviewed, modified and enlarged the presentation method and the contents of disciplines. The study looked primarily how students would like to proceed a course or laboratory work. For this reason the questionnaire was anonymous and it was specified not to give details about the teachers, but only of the content and presentation. The students were selected from those who have attended the majority or even all hours and each had to express their views about the taught content subject, how to teach and how they would like to show those hours. After completion of the answers, each questionnaire was sent to a colleague, who expressed his opinion about the written and passed it on to another colleague. In this way, each came to express their opinion about each. The results showed clearly that essential change, or rather the requirement of all is geared to practical part of the discipline. The theoretical part is often regarded as a \"necessary evil\" because, often, to master the practice, we still need theoretical concepts. Within the scope of the research, the articles published in the database of ISI Web of Science and the dissertations published in the thesis centre of Turkish Council of Higher Education (YOK) were scanned and 7 master’s theses, 5 doctoral theses, and 43 articles were analysed. In this study, the distribution of articles and theses by years, the number of authors and by subjects and the used research methods and data collection methods were identified. After the percentages and the frequencies of the findings had been calculated, they were presented in the form of charts. Iancu","doi":"10.18844/IJLT.V7I2.169","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.18844/IJLT.V7I2.169","url":null,"abstract":"This paper presents the theoretical and practical implications of school community partnership in community development of Romanian rural environment by conducting a content analysis of the addressed topic. In most Western countries, the trend of opening the school to the community is obvious. Because the resources for education are falling, the partnership can be an effective tool for better management of local resources, a way of attracting new resources for school, and harnessing the school resource in benefit of the community. Also, to ensure good quality education is necessary for every school to achieve a genuine partnership with its community. Under this partnership it is natural to find their place all social categories and all interested institutions in the development of education: human resources of the education system, students enrolled in schools, students families, government institutions and NGOs. In rural areas, the school is the most powerful institution, vital for community development. The school must be open to the needs of the rural community to identify those areas where it can develop community partnerships: alternative leisure activities for children and youth, activities of road education, health, helping the elderly and poor families, involvement in humanitarian campaigns, etc. The role of the school, parents and local authorities is very great, and the development of an active partnership between these participants in Romanian rural areas would reduce school dropout and integrate children with special educational needs. It is both the demand for, and high usage of mobile technologies that have driven new and emerging pedagogical practices in higher education. These technologies have also exponentially increased access to information in a knowledge economy. While differences are often drawn between developing and developed countries in terms of the access and use of information and communication technologies (ICT), this paper will report on a study detailing how higher education students use mobile technologies and social media in their studies and in their personal lives.
