Our study emphasizes the importance of analyzing, in addition to general job demands, the specific job demands such as the risk of violence, considered a key risk factor, predictor of stress and possible mental disorders in healthcare workers operating in high-risk environments. \u0000Conclusions:This study confirms the importance of application of the integrated multidimensional intervention model on the prevention of workplace violence and stress, the treatment and the psychological support for all those who reported they have felt stressed or those who are at risk of stress following the attacks, because emotional and psychological consequences and job dissatisfaction impact on the quality of life of the attacked healthcare professionals and reduce their quality of nursing care for the patients, with a higher risk of errors, accidents and absenteeism in the workplace. The multidimensional intervention model shall be implemented on all three levels: individual, organizational and situational.

Let us take play as an example. The concept of play has always characterized the human sphere, accompanying the child in all his stages of development and promoting psycho-evolutionary growth. To play has been recognized as the primary source of memory stimulation, attention and concentration, favoring the development of the schemes of perception and the powers of comparison and communication in the individual. Recent research in 2013 highlighted the notion that video games give adolescents and young adults the opportunity to increase and perfect social, cognitive and emotional skills, contrarily to the risks and negative effects one hears so much about. They do this through the use of the video game as a true social “gym”, used in the same way as any other peer interaction, thus promoting mental health and well-being.

Social identity refers to individual perception of the single person, based on membership in a particular social group. Professional identity is a subcategory of social identity, it is linked to interaction and professionalism of the group. It includes the best practice, the creation of ideals and professional values. It can be defined like attitudes, values, knowledge, beliefs and skills that are common among a special professional category. Professional identity is also connected to social roles of a particular profession. Therefore, professional identity includes individual experience and self-image of a particular category about its profession and its social image. Professional identity is the foundation for operation and conception of professional role. Studies show that nurses who have obtained professional identity are more flexible when facing with role changes and this is reflected on best practice and the patient’s welfare. \u0000 Aim: the aim of this document is to present a research protocol of a cross-sectional study for assessing the concept of professional identity in nursing students of Bachelor’s Degree and in nursing students/practitioners of Master’s Degree on Sapienza University of Rome. \u0000Methods: a review of the literature regarding professional identity was performed. Saipem has developed an in-house medical department, whose main objective, apart the management of medical emergencies, is prevention, health protection and promotion. In order to make these principals available and applicable at all site worldwide Saipem decided to initiate and develop the implementation of e-medicine in its daily operations. \u0000 Methods. The challenging goal of the Saipem Medical Service is to make available to all employees their health data, quickly, easily accessible and secure. The basis for achieving these objectives is the adoption of standards that allow the exchange of data between patient, public and private structures thus ensuring the interoperability of information. My Health Records (MHR) is the program that allows the visualization, consultation and sharing of health information and data that constitute the clinical and health history of each Saipem worker. \u0000My HR makes it possible to have secure and exclusive access to your healthcare profile, its portability and the consequent possibility to consult it and show it in case of need, even from remote extemporaneous stations from any device connected to the internet (PC, smartphone or tablet) . \u0000The digitization of health documents through MHR is aimed at ensuring \u0000 \u0000a) faster and more direct communication between employer, medical staff and employee, \u0000b) immediate usability and portability of data \u0000c) the availability of a vast amount of data in a single space \u0000d) a reduction in costs through the dematerialization of the data \u0000 \u0000 Results. In order to assess the impact of MHR on the working population, Saipem has prepared to send a satisfaction questionnaire to approximately 6.000 employees in order to understand the impact on the working population and lead to even more innovative solutions. The purpose of the questionnaire is also to sensitize the user / employee in the autonomous and completely free of this application. The result are show and discussed. \u0000Conclusion. MHR was created to offer all Saipem employees the opportunity to access their health records. This project represents a model to be proposed to all Italian companies that, following the dictates of Legislative Decree 81/08, apply Health Surveillance to their workers. The advantages are represented by the dematerialization of the data, the relative cost saving (shipment of health documentation, reduction of hours / work dedicated to the expiry of visits, possibility for public health to use health data without repetition of clinical and instrumental tests, vaccinations, etc) and greater attention to all Italian workers, both EU and non-EU, with a definitely positive impact on Public Health. The strategy of the MHR launch is proving successful, and from 1 June 2017 to 1 June 2018 16,764 accesses were registered.

As a result of intense working hours, night shifts, responsibilities of care, and emotional contact with patients, healthcare workers experience stressful conditions. Interventions to prevent and manage their wellbeing are needed, in order to reduce the risks of onset of burnout syndrome. \u0000Aim: the aim of this systematic review is to analyze how mindfulness courses can improve mental and physical well-being of healthcare workers. \u0000Methods: a literature search was conducted in May 2018 using the databases Medline (PubMed), Scopus and Isi Web of Knowledge. Studies were included if they examined mindfulness interventions as possible solutions to manage stress among healthcare workers. \u0000Results: fifty-eight articles met the inclusion criteria: 13 of them were clinical trials; 11 were randomized clinical trials; 12 were systematic reviews; 7 were narrative reviews and 15 were observational studies. The studies included showed effectiveness of mindfulness programs in reducing stress, self-compassion, burnout, anxiety and depression. Significant negative association has been observed between MBSR and stress levels (β: −0.60, 95% CI:−5.95 to −4.04, P< 0.001) and mental exhaustion (β:−0.43, 95% CI:−3.30 −1.86, P< 0.001). Clinical trials focused on psychoeducational interventions highlighted decreased burnout scores in intervention group (SDM: -0.38). \u0000Conclusion: courses based on mindfulness showed to be effective in improving healthcare workers’ well-being, increasing their quality of life and the productivity outcomes. The evidence derived from this systematic review suggests that these interventions should be included within the work organization in order to be viable tools for promoting self-care and quality of care.

The present study has the aim of : a) assessing HRQL in diabeticpatients with diabetic retinopathy through the administration of the SF-12 questionnaire; b)evaluating what is the impact of theassociated treatments on the HRQL.Methods: The study was an observational study carried out using a cross-sectional design in 2017.The patients were recruited inthe cities of Rome and Palermo in outpatients ambulatories of Diabetology and Ophthalmology. The SF-12 questionnaire wasadministered to calculate two main indicators of HRQL, i.e., Physical composite score (PCS) and Mental composite score (MCS).Results: 137 diabetic patients entered the study, 65% males, 65.7% married or cohabitant. The educational level was generallylow (37.2% with elementary school. The vast majority were patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, with a median duration of thepathology of ten years. 27.7% of the diabetic patients had a retinopathy. Those patients with Diabetic macular edema (DME) (38)were treated with Dexamethasone implant (39.5%), Ranibizumab (28.9%), Aflibercept(7.9%), laser (15.8%). Concerning theMCS and PCS, respectively, the highest scores are present among males (p = 0.009 and p = 0.007) and highly educated patients (p= 0.025 and p = 0.023). No association was found between retinopathy and HRQL scores, both for MCS (p = 0.759) and PCS (p= 0.120), even if the highest scores are for patients without retinopathy (43.4 for MCS and 42.1 for PCS). Limiting the analysis topatients with DME only, MCS score was found higher in patients treated with Laser and Dexamethasone implant, and lower forpatients treated with Aflibercepy. However, only patients treated with Dexamethasone implant these results are statisticallysignificant (Beta= 6.685; p = 0.039).Conclusion: This study confirmed that lowest HRQL scores are among patients with retinopathy. Moreover, diabetic patients as awhole showed lowest HRQL scores if compared to the general Italian population. Our results shows the longer the diabetes the bestthe HRQL for the MCS score and the worst the PCS scores. Finally, patients with DR treated for retinopathy had highest MCSscore if treated with laser and Dexamethasone implant, but only for Dexamethasone implant the results are statistically significant.,while no association was found between type of treatment for retinopathy and PCS scores.
