Using fast-growing woood natural forests, increase economic growth, and is more environment friendly. The objective of this study was to improve the wood properties of G. arborea and C. nucifera via hot oil treatment. The experiment was conducted in a lab-scale furnace using a commercial grade palm oil at 180°C, 200°C, 220°C, and 240°C for 3 h. The effect of hot oil treatment on color change, physical, and mechanical properties was evaluated. The results showed that increasing treatment temperature increase of the overall color change (ΔE*) in both G. arborea and C. nucifera. The density of G. arborea and C. nucifera decreased with increased temperature. The results also showed that increase in temperature reduced the moisture content, density and water absorption in both woods. The compressive strength of G. arborea and C. nucifera decreased with the increase in treatment temperature.","PeriodicalId":374590,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference on Sustainable Biomass (ICSB 2019)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123886360","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Present in abundance amounts as crop residues cassava stems is potential biomass tobe utilized. As raw material, it has advantages such as fast and easy growth, minimal maintenance and utilizing plantation land without competing with food supply. The biomass characterization results showed that cassava stems containing cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin, respectively 40.16, 25.66 and 16.65% w/w. Cassava stems has low ash content and high of volatile matter with high carbon and low nitrogen.The HHV of cassava stems was19.08 MJ/kg.Physical propertiesby GC-MS tests of bio-oil produced via electromagnetic-assisted catalytic liquefaction(EA-CL)revealedthat the dominant content of chemicals were 5-methyl furfural,2-furancarboxaldehyde and acetic acid.The bio-oil density ranged from 0.979 to 0.984 g/mL and has a pH of 2.8. This study aims to explain the attitude of fisherman to fisherman insurance programs. The sampling technique used is non-probability sampling using the method of judgment sampling approach, which is based on certain criteria that have been determined in advance by the researcher. The result of this research shows that the attitude of fisherman to Fisherman Insurance is between neutral and maximum attitude values. The level of attribute importance that is considered very important for fisherman is that premium subsidies are inversely proportional to the level of performance that is not good at this attribute. It needs an extension to increase the awareness of fisherman self-protection by related parties and review of the policies of fisherman insurance programs.","PeriodicalId":374590,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference on Sustainable Biomass (ICSB 2019)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128721492","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of the study was to explain the perceptions of coastal communities in Dente Teladas Village of Tulang Bawang District-Lampung Province towards the provision of water facilities, infrastructure, and institutional effectiveness. The data collection used purposive sampling technique with questionnaire from 100 respondents of beneficary community and other related stakeholders. Obtaining data were analyzed with Likert scale and described for the perception of the provision of water facilities, infrastructure, and institutional effectiveness. The results of the study indicated that the community's perception of the facilities and infrastructure was good, the community had willingness to pay contributions, and management institution was effectively run. This could be seen from the existence of norms, organizations which actively run and institutionalized supported by the capacity of administrators and members, level of trust, level of compliance, level of participation, and high level of public understanding of the applicable rules. In addition, government policies, management policies, strengthening institutional structures, programs to increase the capacity of managers and rehabilitation of water facilities and infrastructure also increased the effectiveness of existing institutions. It was nationally expected then to accelerate the development of water facilities and infrastructure in coastal areas, therefore every coastal community could get access to consumable/drinking water and in return could improve their welfare. \u0000 \u0000Keywords: Institutions, community-based consumable freshwater management, coastal areas","PeriodicalId":374590,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference on Sustainable Biomass (ICSB 2019)","volume":"53 7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115749159","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In October – December 2018, it erupted 156 times by releasing incandescent materials and toxic gases in the form of sulphur dioxide (SO2), carbon dioxide (CO2), and hydrogen sulphide (H2S) at 2 km radius. The release of SO2 gas indicates that magma is approaching the surface and puts the volcano on alert status. Finally on 22 December 2018 the continued eruption caused the flank collapse on some part of the volcano, triggered a tsunami that stroke the coastal of Lampung and Banten. This work investigated the SO2 gas monitoring technology using Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy (DOAS). The study specifically concerns on the working principles of DOAS, optimization of DOAS with optical bandpass filters and amplifiers, as well as the implementation architecture design of DOAS from Gunung Anak Krakatau Volcano to Hargo Pancuran Monitoring Station. Based on this study, the DOAS can be used to monitor SO2 gas by using a catadioptric telescope and the optimization works for UG11 as an optical bandpass filter and Raman Amplifier as the amplifier.","PeriodicalId":374590,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference on Sustainable Biomass (ICSB 2019)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129704881","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
