Novriyanti","doi":"10.2991/aer.k.210603.010","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.2991/aer.k.210603.010","url":null,"abstract":"The policy to prohibit cantrang fishing gear is intended to prevent excessive exploitation of fish resources, environmental degradation and conflicts between fisherman, but fisherman and government officers’ perceptions of the policy are not the same. The purpose of this study was to analyze the perceptions of fisherman and government officer on the implementation of the prohibition of cantrang fishing gear policy in Lampung Bay. Data collection was carried out by interviewing 30 fishermen and 30 government officers. The data obtained were analyzed using a Likert Scale and polarized between the perceptions of fisherman and government officers. The results showed that fisherman’s perceptions of the successful implementation of cantrang fishing gear prohibition policies were influenced by the attitude of the implementers and the inaccurate standards and policy targets/policy size and objectives. This is following the fisherman’s refusal to prohibit cantrang fishing gear policy by continuing to operationalize cantrang fishing gear. The perception of the government apparatus the high influence of the economic, social and political environment influences the successful implementation of cantrang fishing gear prohibition policies. Perceptions between fisherman and government officers who are not in harmony cause the failure of the cantrang fishing gear prohibition policy in Lampung Bay. As a leading commodity in Indonesia, the coffee produced the residual waste from its processing such as the pulp waste (include the exocarp, mesocarp, and endocarp). The waste contains the toxic agent such as caffeine, tannin, and free phenols which can inhibit the biogas production. Therefore, in this study, the biological pretreatment using civet feces ( Paradoxurus hermaphroditus ) was performed. The performance and kinetic of biogas formation from the coffee pulp (with and without pretreatment) using cow dung and a mixture of rumen fluid and cow dung as inoculum have been investigated. Biogas production was done anaerobically for 40 days at mesophilic temperature (37  o C) in a reactor with a working volume of 3.6 liters. Measured parameters included the inhibitor components, TS, VS, COD, production of biogas, and kinetic parameters. This study reveals that the pretreatment using civet feces could reduce the inhibitor compounds in the coffee pulp waste leading to produce methane in higher concentration than those without pretreatment. The digester containing pretreated coffee pulp with cow dung and rumen fluid addition showed the best performance of biogas formation. Taurine is known to be one of the most important amino acid related to hyperosmotic stress for most of living organisms. The study was conducted to explore the taurine contain from the most abundance macroalgae found in Indonesia seawater, especially in Lampung Province, namely Halimeda opuntia L., Sargassum sp. and Eucheuma cottonii L. Maceration followed by ethanol extraction was applied to those three different macroalgae and the filtrate was identified for its taurine content by using UV-Vis spectrophotometry. Standard of pure taurine of 0,1 and 1 M (NOW) was used and the maximum wavelength of under the UV-Vis spectrophotometry was 630 nm. Simple correlation from the standard taurine was y = 0.001x+0.033 and used to determine the taurine content of those three macroalgae. Sorghum starch and chitosan, of which 63 micron particle size, were varied by starch to chitosan ratio (g/g) of 10:0; 9.5:0.5; 8.5:1.5; 7.5:2.5; 6,5:3.5; and 5.5:4.5 respectively. About 1 gr (10% on a weight basis) of glycerol, as a plasticizer, was appended to the mixture. The addition of CMF was done to the mixture, and its concentration was varied 0, 1, 2, and 3% (w/w). The combination of 8.5 g sorghum starch and 1.5 g chitosan gave the best results. It revealed the enhance of the thermal characteristic of bioplastic due to the increase of the filler — this phenomenon expressed by glass transition, crystallinity, and melting temperature of bioplastic.
