The first parameter for controlling this type of converter is the operating frequency. When a phase shift /spl beta/ is introduced between the controls of the two legs, we get a second parameter for controlling the conversion. Using the state plane, the recurrence equation of state variables have been determined and used for computing the steady state conditions. This has allowed the curves giving the normalized output power versus the regulating parameters (frequency and phase shift) and also the steady state output characteristic to be drawn. The analysis performed includes a small signal modelling based on the linearisation of the behavior around the steady state working point.","PeriodicalId":373470,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of First International Caracas Conference on Devices, Circuits and Systems","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1995-12-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121248975","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The algorithm can be visualized by assuming the existence of a data matrix, at the input of the equalizer, which is created with a time shifting process, in order to generate \"M\" column vectors. The designed algorithm processes these vectors and, with the aid of an orthogonalization method, calculates a set of the most representative one, with respect to a desired output signal. The ghost parameters were obtained with the aid of a forward regressor method. The process has shown to be very effective for the accurate calculation of the ghost parameters, even in the presence of considerable noise levels, and is also used to train RBF approximation networks for the systematic selection of its centroids. In all the tests performed in this work, the proposed technique has given much better results than using conventional algorithms.","PeriodicalId":373470,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of First International Caracas Conference on Devices, Circuits and Systems","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1995-12-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116221400","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Several methods have been used to suppress such artifacts based on adaptive schemes. This paper presents a comparison between an adaptive filter using the Least Mean Squares algorithm (LMS) and a Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) using error Backpropagation (BP), Recursive Least Squares (RLS) and Iterative Least Squares (ILS) algorithms. The criteria for comparison are artifact suppression and speed of convergence.","PeriodicalId":373470,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of First International Caracas Conference on Devices, Circuits and Systems","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1995-12-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130498349","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The number and strength of the modes directly influences the spatial coherence of a beam, which can then be detected with a simple interferometer. The transmitter is an electric-optic device that allows one or two modes to propagate depending on the logic state. The distribution of the energy among the allowed modes is independent of the overall intensity, thereby giving another depth of multiplexing in addition to common schemes such as intensify and frequency modulation, polarization, and wavelength-division multiplexing, etc. We present an optical interconnection scheme by which the intensity carries the data and the spatial coherence conveys the address information on the same beam.","PeriodicalId":373470,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of First International Caracas Conference on Devices, Circuits and Systems","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1995-12-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131434138","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is shown, by using a realistic example, that adaptive reclosers should be installed in distribution systems with automatic switching capabilities in order to optimize their protective function. In particular, the case of primary circuits with automatic transfer systems is discussed. The conclusion is that the fuse-saving scheme normally implemented in primary-radial distribution systems can be automatically achieved for the different configurations of the primary circuit when adaptive reclosers are used. The paper also presents a brief discussion on the requirements that should be met by application programs for adaptive distribution protection.","PeriodicalId":373470,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of First International Caracas Conference on Devices, Circuits and Systems","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1995-12-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131716772","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Primary focus has been in the area of Laser created interconnects for quick-turn around prototyping of electronic circuits fabricated using standard Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) process techniques. The Laser Restructuring of a specific application circuitry at the wafer or packaged chip level is accomplished by creating low electrical resistance links between conductors and cutting conductor lines using an integrated computer controlled Laser system. Laser restructuring of generic electronic circuits, is an excellent technique for low-cost, quick turn around custom programmed circuits. A great effort was put into developing an infrastructure within the Laboratory that will conduct state of the art research while keeping manufacturing capabilities for rapid turn around of restructured circuitry using optimized process parameters. Total system control, flexibility, high data quality, and full documentation are examples of this R&D developed environment. Using Design of Experiment techniques and statistical data analysis, Laser created interconnects were studied. Optimum process parameters were obtained using this methodology. The complete process development will be presented at the conference including among others the design and software development of a stand alone interconnect controller (ICON), testing procedure for packaged, and the statistical data analysis for generating the optimum process parameter.","PeriodicalId":373470,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of First International Caracas Conference on Devices, Circuits and Systems","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1995-12-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132432358","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The method uses non-linear orthogonal transformations to map the unbounded domain into a rectangle for the application of the finite-difference method. Equations for the electrostatic potential and the per-unit length capacitances are derived in the transformed domain. The finite-difference method is applied to obtain discrete versions of these equations. The over-relaxation algorithm is used to solve the discrete equations for the electrostatic potential. The characteristic impedance is computed in terms of the per-unit length capacitances. The implementation of the algorithm that solves the discrete equations is described. Results computed with our method and with Wheeler's formulas are compared, showing excellent agreement between the two methods.","PeriodicalId":373470,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of First International Caracas Conference on Devices, Circuits and Systems","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1995-12-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116318536","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper a method is proposed to take advantage of some of those facilities, specially for the time coordination with other devices, like automatic switcher. The coordination of these reclosers must be carried out by setting the dead time, with the same fast and slow curves for several values of threshold tripping, and lockout in two operations. This sequence of operations should lead to a selective isolation of the faulted section. To achieve this, it is necessary to set the dead times according to a logic which is described here. The criterion suggested consists of setting the dead times from low to high, starting from the recloser nearest to substation.","PeriodicalId":373470,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of First International Caracas Conference on Devices, Circuits and Systems","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1995-12-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121903274","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
