Despite the increasing application of IT, there is limited academic systematic research regarding the maturity of IT governance and process improvement in Higher Institutions of Learning (HILs). IT in HILs is highly complex, and managing complex systems of processes and platforms in HILs necessitates tools to assess and provide guidelines for integrating organizational processes. This research, therefore, evaluated the IT governance processes in HILs in Uganda and established the maturity level to ensure continuous improvement and organizational maturity. Eight HILs in Uganda were measured using 15 IT processes of the COBIT framework and rated with the generic maturity model. Data were analyzed using MS Excel. Results indicated IT governance maturity level of HILs in Uganda was at level 2 (repeatable).","PeriodicalId":373283,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Innov. Digit. This research study has adopted the sequential mixed method research in which the exploratory qualitative study is conducted with the qualified practicing auditors across Kerala to identify various Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software using in their audit firms. The results of this exploratory study are then empirically tested with the 321 respondents from qualified practicing-auditor accountants in Kerala using Structural Equation Modelling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The findings reveal that there is a significant and positive relationship between variables used in the UTAUT model with practicing auditors. Thus, the results suggest that all the four constructs from UTAUT (performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions) seem to be predominantly significant factors influencing practicing auditors.","PeriodicalId":373283,"journal":{"name":"Int. Companies require generating effective ideas for new products. The objective of the study is to understand the various aspects related to idea generation in new product development. The methodology adopted is a conceptual analysis of the various aspects of idea generation. Companies adopt two approaches viz. top-down idea generation and bottom-up idea generation. They validate the ideas generated and employ different market research tools viz. observation of customers; conducting interviews of customers, employees, and experts; analysis of the competition; and crowdsourcing for idea generation and usage of multiple methods for idea generation. Academicians may suggest approaches, market research tools, and multiple methods which are effective in idea generation and validation. Practicing managers will understand the importance of generating new ideas for products. They may apply different approaches and tools which are effective in generating and validating effective ideas.","PeriodicalId":373283,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Innov. Digit. This study used a questionnaire survey to verify the hypothesis. A 2 (the level of language abstraction: abstract level or concrete level) × 2 (product attitude: positive or negative) × 2 (information framing: positive or negative) experimental design is conducted. This study used online experimental method and ANOVA to collect and analyze 286 questionnaires. The experiment results demonstrated that language description has an impact on credibility and purchase intention. Product attitude has an impact on credibility, but no significant influence on purchase intention. And the credibility has a positive influence on purchase intention. Finally, the conclusion presents implications, limitations, and directions for future research.","PeriodicalId":373283,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Innov. Digit. It becomes challenging for the companies to select the best idea from the idea pool. Companies have used various frameworks, tools, and techniques to choose the best idea for successful new product development. This study proposes a new idea selection framework called BRICEC, consisting of business importance, reach, impact, confidence, efforts, and cannibalization. The study focuses on comparing the popular idea selection frameworks in product development along with the BRICEC framework, critically analyzing the research gaps in idea selection processes through literature reviews, explaining the BRICEC framework in detail with examples, and highlighting how BRICEC is a more efficient framework from the rest of the popular frameworks. Proper idea selection in the right time frame will help companies attain competitive advantage and define the success of the new product.","PeriodicalId":373283,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Innov. The environment is more turbulent during a recession or an economic downturn. Investments done by firms are directly affected by such uncertainties. Recession and economic downturn make it uncertain and risky for firms. Firms worry that the returns will not be commensurate with the investments done. Nevertheless, there are firms which develop strategies, undertake initiatives, and invest during such tough times. Various strategies and initiatives adopted by companies and businesses to survive and even to excel during such tough times are discussed. The advantages and disadvantages of adopting those strategies and initiatives are discussed. The study focuses on firms which implemented strategies to overcome recession and established themselves in the minds of customers. Firms and practitioners will benefit from the study and will be able to identify the most effective strategies and initiatives to be adopted to achieve excellence during an economic downturn.","PeriodicalId":373283,"journal":{"name":"Int. It also tries to detect the rural people’s perception about this new financial phenomenon. To meet the goals this study involves both quantitative and qualitative investigation. To get the quantitative data a survey was conducted by a set questionnaire where 300 people from three villages participated. In the qualitative part, semi-structured in-depth interviews of 60 mobile bank users were conducted. Applying grounded theory and hermeneutics approaches, this study finds that since the service of mobile banking is easy and fast, rural people adopted it quickly and it affects positively in the socio-economic development in rural Bangladesh. Its impact on employment creation, business, savings behavior, remittance, expenditure, and agriculture is found good. However, it is also found that the mobile banking services are helping the criminals to do illegal economic activities such as forgery.","PeriodicalId":373283,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Innov. Digit. Dependence on IT brings concerns in organizations to handle its increasing complexity which necessitates the implementation of IT governance. However, IT governance is lacking in the public sector organizations of developing countries, leading to failure to realize the full potential value of IT. For Uganda's higher institutions of learning (HILs), implementation of IT governance is unexplored. Therefore, in this paper, the authors investigate the state of IT governance among the eight HILs in Uganda. Interviews were used to collect data which was categorized into structures, processes, and relational mechanisms. The results showed that the relational mechanisms like training were fairly implemented, while structures and processes like the IT steering committee and IT performance measurement respectively were poorly implemented.","PeriodicalId":373283,"journal":{"name":"Int. Despite its benefits, the adoption of online shopping in Africa, including Namibia, lags. Hence the main objective of this research is to investigate the challenges and issues in adopting online shopping for market growth. Adopting a qualitative approach based on the UTAUT model we determine and analyze predominant challenges and issues, examine the influence of demographic variables on online shopping, define and investigate the key success factors and propose strategies to increase the adoption of online shopping. Findings reflect that lack of security and trustworthiness in the online shopping process is a key challenge in the adoption of online shopping. Recommendations include that the government should regulate online shopping procedures to protect consumers and prevent cybercrime and businesses should offer consumer education to build trust and eliminate fear in the online shopping process.","PeriodicalId":373283,"journal":{"name":"Int. Therefore, SMEs aspire to achieve a competitive advantage, enhance their organizational performance, and improve their businesses through a digital transformation (DT). Previous research studies still lack a deep knowledge of the barriers in digital transformation in SMEs in a developing country like Nigeria. Therefore, this research aims to determine the barriers that a small and medium company in Nigeria faces regarding DT. The findings of this study revealed twenty-three barriers in DT of which nine are similar to those identified in previous research literature and fourteen are new barriers. The identified barriers in DT can help managers in SMEs in Nigeria as well in other developing countries to understand how to mitigate them and have a successful DT.","PeriodicalId":373283,"journal":{"name":"Int.
