We delve into the complex interplay of agile governance, a responsive and adaptive governance model navigating political uncertainties, and the transformative forces of digital transformation, orchestrating a symphony of technological advancements reshaping the very fabric of governance. Furthermore, the study investigates inclusive decision-making, elucidating the collaborative engagement between citizens and policymakers in shaping governance strategies. The research then centers on the culmination of these dynamics, emphasizing citizen satisfaction as a pivotal metric for assessing the success of governance initiatives. Operating as a moderator, political stability guides the overall effectiveness of governance practices. Following a stratified sampling technique, data were collected from 490 followers of Indonesian public sector social networking sites from July 2023 to November 2023. The findings reveal that agile governance, digital transformation, and inclusive decision-making positively contribute to citizen satisfaction with public services, with political stability moderating these relationships, providing empirical insights into the dynamics of contemporary public administration. The scholarly significance lies in providing empirical insights into the specific context of Indonesia, contributing to the broader discourse on effective governance strategies in the face of political disruptions.","PeriodicalId":37174,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Ethnic and Cultural Studies","volume":"262 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140449706","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to legal restrictions imposed, students were unable to attend school and study in traditional settings such as classrooms. Instead, they had to remain at home with their parents, resulting in a greater need for parental involvement in their children's education. This involvement took on diverse forms and held various meanings. The objectives of this study were to describe the attitudes and perceptions of parents towards distance learning and to examine the extent and nature of parental involvement. The research employed a mixed-method design, with 461 Arab and Jewish parents participating by completing a structured questionnaire, while an additional 139 parents took part in semi-structured interviews. The research findings revealed a prevalent negative attitude towards distance learning, as experienced during the COVID-19 period, with parents expressing dissatisfaction and disappointment regarding its implementation. While some parents reported a high degree of involvement, others chose not to be involved at all. The study also highlighted various challenges encountered by parents, including didactic-pedagogical, technological, economic, and other difficulties. Additionally, some parents exhibited interventionist behavior, disrupting Zoom classroom meetings by making comments, expressing reservations, or offering suggestions. On a positive note, a positive relationship was identified between parents' involvement and their attitudes towards distance learning. The research findings have valuable implications for the education system, as they shed light on the attitudes, perceptions, and difficulties surrounding distance learning. These insights can help identify the barriers that hinder parental involvement in their children's learning processes, thereby reducing its effectiveness. By understanding these challenges, the education system can strive to find methods and solutions to enhance the learning process for students and increase parental involvement.","PeriodicalId":37174,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Ethnic and Cultural Studies","volume":"2 7","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139958184","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This systematic review attempts to account for such normative assumptions by looking at the predictive ability of psychosocial and environmental factors related to social identity processes, in addition to the predictive ability of religiosity in accounting for Islamic extremism. Two search rounds were performed using several databases for peer reviewed English language articles, of all types of research designs, between 2012 and 2023 defining Islamic or Muslim extremism as a deviation from the dominant Eurocentric normative definition and delineating its predictors. The review revealed a differing account regarding the roots of Muslim extremism in which exclusion from the modern world-system—framed in terms of perceived threat, deprivation, discrimination, and oppression—is highlighted, while religiosity had predominantly insignificant effects. The paper calls for a reconsideration of extremism among Muslims away from the normative paradigm set forth by the modern world-system.","PeriodicalId":37174,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Ethnic and Cultural Studies","volume":"80 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140450797","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In many countries, including the post-Soviet space, this phenomenon is firmly historically rooted. Granting privileges to relatives or friends, regardless of their professional qualities, destroys the institutional foundations of the state, causing significant harm to public administration and the economy. The purpose of the study is to examine the influence of cultural and ethnographic factors in form of socio-demographic factors and the level of acceptability of corruption on the development of nepotism against the background of corruption as an aggregate indicator of its manifestation. The research methodology was based on studying the socio-economic development indicators of 12 countries of the former Soviet Union according to the official data presented by the World Bank and the Transparency International organization. This research holds the view that the Corruption Perceptions Index can serve as an indirect indicator of the level of nepotism in the post-Soviet space. A study based on a regression model of the correlation of the described values of a quantitative model for assessing the level of penetration of nepotism in developing countries, including post-Soviet ones.
