Suitable for resolving non-coherent signals, the two adaptive techniques (Root-MUSIC and ESPRIT) use multiple snapshots to acquire data covariance matrix, which can then be divided into signal subspace and noise subspace for estimating the desired complex parameters. While only utilizing one snapshot to estimate parameters, the two non-adaptive techniques (Matrix Pencil and MODE) are suitable to deal with coherent signals.","PeriodicalId":370931,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE Long Island Systems, Applications and Technology Conference (LISAT)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115331779","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Visual Data Mining is further presenting implicit but useful knowledge from large data sets using visualization techniques, to create visual images which aid in the understanding of complex, often massive representations of data. As the amount of data managed in a database increases, the need to simplify the vast amount of data also increases. Cluster analysis is the process of classifying a large group of data items into smaller groups that share the same or similar properties. In this paper, different Clustering algorithms such as K-Means clustering, agglomerative clustering were studied and applied to the Stop, Question and Frisk Report Database, City of New York, Police Department, NYPD, for analyzing the location of the crime and stopped people using the reason of stopped in order to reduce city crime rates. Our analytic and visual results revealed that the best clustering algorithm is K-Means algorithm, and its good features ensuring that the models are helpful.","PeriodicalId":370931,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE Long Island Systems, Applications and Technology Conference (LISAT)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127536506","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The EdgeLink™ millimeter wave (mmW) system was deployed as part of the European 5G-Crosshaul H2020 5G-PPP project where an outdoor mesh network was setup in Berlin with link distances up to 185 meters. The inclusion of a self-organizing Mesh topology guarantees failure recovery within the system through redundant paths which are managed by a cloud based software defined network (SDN) controller.","PeriodicalId":370931,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE Long Island Systems, Applications and Technology Conference (LISAT)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131813665","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Establishing a quantum security platform into an exciting system requires a package of stable processes. One of these processes is based on creating a Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) protocol or sharing a secret key. This paper presents a QKD protocol that utilizes two quantum channels to prepare a shared secret key. The first communication channel will be initiated by entanglement states, where the entangled photons will be emitted by a trusted third party. The second communication channel utilizes the superposition states that will be initiated by the one of the communicated parties. Moreover, the protocol produces a string of random qubits after verifying the communicated legitimate parties during entangled state channels. The produced string will reflect the shared secret key between the users.","PeriodicalId":370931,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE Long Island Systems, Applications and Technology Conference (LISAT)","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132341616","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The ability to walk into a room, verbally output what it is that you want done around you, or have it recited back to you at another time is something that should be seen as normal with the technology that is readily available. This design is ultimately going to bring a natural, human action, and combine it with a device that will make it readily available and accessible to other technologies. A WiFi Enabled Human Speech Recognition Controller Node aims to take human speech in through a microphone, convert it from analog to digital, and transmit that digital stream via WiFi network to a web service where it will be broken down into text, saved, and be used to issue commands‥","PeriodicalId":370931,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE Long Island Systems, Applications and Technology Conference (LISAT)","volume":"791 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123001089","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The product is sealed for harsh environmental conditions per IP65 standard as well as for impacts. In this paper, we share our electronics packaging design approach for a mobile sensor suite so called “Bionic Egg” which is capable of logging ambient conditions as well as external forces on a turkey egg during transportation. While available space is limited due to the shell size, there is an insufficient amount of room to mount a large enough battery to execute all day long operation requirement. We designed an adaptive power consumption methodology which adopts a reactive sensory usage logic by adjusting processor clock between 2–72Mhz. The power consumption of Low Profile Quad Flat Package (LQFP) 32 bit ARM Cortex microcontroller could be reduced as low as to 230 µA in deep sleep mode with a maximum of 62.1 mA drain for continuous logging state. The Mobile sensor suite includes inertial measurement unit (IMU), temperature and humidity sensors, Global Positioning System (GPS) unit with an internal antenna as well as a SD (Secure Digital) card board for data logging. The overall design approach, hardware structure, power consumption data as well as software structure are presented.","PeriodicalId":370931,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE Long Island Systems, Applications and Technology Conference (LISAT)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128715320","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The two solvers are efficient for two different cases, have different execution procedures and generate a single solution from a single line of command. This integration provides the most efficient way to find multiple random solutions of any set membership problem from a common single line of command. To build an effective k-SAT filter, multiple random solutions are essential. The integration also provides a unified solution output format rather than two different output formats of two solvers. The theoretical approach and a practical C program were developed and tested during the work in an on-going project to build world's first practical k-SAT filter for deep packet inspection in network intrusion detection systems at Stony Brook University.","PeriodicalId":370931,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE Long Island Systems, Applications and Technology Conference (LISAT)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125358180","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To overcome the side channel attacks, the sender and the receiver use decoy states to verify the security of the quantum channel. Then, they use uncorrelated entangled pairs to establish a correlated entanglement between them. The protocol establishes entangled communication channel between the sender and the receiver without performing the quantum distillation protocol. The protocol provides protection against side channel attacks such as photon-number-splitting (PNS). During the communication process, each party chooses to prepare a decoy state or a signal state. Then, they send their signals to a third party who performs Bell state measurement and then announces the measurement result. Using the information from the third party, who also could be an attacker, the sender and the receiver analyze the communication channel for any abnormalities. After verifying the security of the communication channel, the sender and the receiver establish the entanglement together for sharing secret keys.","PeriodicalId":370931,"journal":{"name":"2017 IEEE Long Island Systems, Applications and Technology Conference (LISAT)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122258906","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
