The starting point is that, although the social division of labor obeys historical factors, it has been naturalized and masked by fetishes that alienate us from space, commodities, and other information flows, not perceived as social relations, but as mere objects. Regarding the international division of agricultural labor, we will review some links between climatic zones and the bifurcation of the diet (class diet) in this region, for this, we will introduce the concept of exoticization of intertropical agriculture, in which we identify two interdependent meanings: the first associated with the Colombian exchange and consequent introduction of foreign animal and plant species, and which spanned the entire globe as modern society arose, however, the second meaning is circumscribed to the intertropical zone of the planet, and can be defined as the construction of an idea of inferiority and complementarity of the crops of the said climatic zone in relation to those of temperate zones; again, our focus will be on Latin American countries: Central America, the Caribbean, and Northern South America.","PeriodicalId":369350,"journal":{"name":"GOT - Journal of Geography and Spatial Planning","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125311678","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To do this, images from the Landsat 7 and 8 satellites were used, as well as maps of land cover, and NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) and surface temperatures were generated in order to analyze vegetation interference on the target temperatures. Among the available images, those that were suitable for this type of study (without cloud cover) were chosen on representative days of the dry season, taken on August 3, 2001, and on August 18, 2021, as well as of the rainy season, taken on February 7, 2021. The results showed that, even with minor changes in land cover in the period from 2001 to 2021, the decrease in vegetative vigor, as confirmed by the NDVI, in the dry period resulted in an increase in areas with higher target temperatures. It also showed that the spatial variability of surface temperatures in the São Paulo-Paraná-Mato Grosso do Sul dividing line does not depend solely on the transformations in the landscape but is rather directly related to the types of weather that provide greater or lesser precipitation totals in the period prior to the obtaining of the images. Therefore, it was demonstrated that changes in land cover alone do not respond to the variability and intensity of surface temperatures.","PeriodicalId":369350,"journal":{"name":"GOT - Journal of Geography and Spatial Planning","volume":"120 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128013993","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research has a descriptive-exploratory character and was divided into five stages: theoretical basis, case study, document analysis, cartographic production and interviews. We found that the process of urban expansion in Conselheiro Lafaiete is marked by its consolidation as a service and commerce center in the region, with a strong presence in the real estate and civil construction sectors. However, there is no effective application of urban legislation; planning and supervision of the occupation of urban space become inefficient and give rise to spontaneous and disorderly growth. The consequences of these transformations reflect directly on the intra-urban space and on the phenomena linked to the modification of these spaces.","PeriodicalId":369350,"journal":{"name":"GOT - Journal of Geography and Spatial Planning","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131369410","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Unfortunately, it has been severely impacted by agribusiness activities. The present study will show a strategic importance for the environmental preservation of the “Pampa” geoheritage. The goals are to reset the borders of the “Pampa”, to identify geosites of scientific value, and to evaluate the risks of environmental degradation with the aim to propose geoconservation actions. The material for this study came from Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics, Geological Survey of Brazil and edited using the geographic information systems program ArcGIS - ESRI®. The evaluation methodology used consists of the systematic registration of geological sites using different scales and values, and by mathematical criteria showing the relevant value and the degrees of environment degradation risks. The results present three maps showing the borders (limits) of the “Pampa” biome, geodiversity, and geosites and in as well as frames and charts, which contain the scientific value and the degree of environmental degradation risk of the six geosites. This information will be useful in proposing a course of action for geoconservation such as: the creation of conservation units, geoparks and the updating of environment legislation. The proposed actions are fundamental for spatial planning, based on the best practices of sustainable development, as geoconservation, geopreservation and geoprotection still remain the major challenges of the 21st century.","PeriodicalId":369350,"journal":{"name":"GOT - Journal of Geography and Spatial Planning","volume":"113 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127162020","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Critical to the categories, concepts, indicators and indexes of urban planning, architecture and urbanism and especially to the way they are normally used, the article proposes to transform the diagnosis of territory that is part of the current decision- making processes related to the production of the city, into a reading of place that allows for a different language game in the contemporary political arena. In this direction, the article presents the lines of analysis associated with the field observations and literature that come close to the concepts of reading and place in three disciplinary fields - education, human geography and urban design -, linking them to the spheres form in the territory, activity in the territory and sense of the inhabitant. In short, according to a critical approach, in some extent phenomenological, the proposal aims to decrypt the city through a series of lines of analysis that understand the territory from the perspective of those who live and occupy it, leading to a possible disruption of the valued institutional, technical and academic narratives in force.","PeriodicalId":369350,"journal":{"name":"GOT - Journal of Geography and Spatial Planning","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133084643","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The BR-242 / TO highway that will be the object of this research is located in the southeast of the State of Tocantins, and will interconnect and serve three states of the Brazilian federation, Bahia, Tocantins and Mato Grosso, with an extension of 262 km, passing through the municipalities from Taguatinga, Paranã and Peixe. The objective of this study is to describe and evaluate the environmental compensation actions of the impacts on fauna, flora and water resources, originated from the implementation of the highway (BR-242/TO). The results of the Vegetation Suppression and Flora Rescue report were used; the results of the Wildlife Removal and Rescue report; and the report of the Water Bodies Monitoring Program produced between the years 2016 and 2019 within the scope of the execution of environmental management services for the construction works of the BR-242 / TO highway. The environmental management implemented in the construction of the highway has brought positive results with its programs for rescuing fauna, flora, collecting seeds and collecting water samples from rivers to analyze water quality. The mitigation and compensation measures implemented before, during and after the work, can drastically reduce the environmental impacts to the environment, resulting in environmental sustainability to the work, gains for the environment and for the communities surrounding the built enterprise.","PeriodicalId":369350,"journal":{"name":"GOT - Journal of Geography and Spatial Planning","volume":"60 3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129572929","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Court of the Justice and Jesuit set stand out, attracting a large flow of tourists. In the center of the square, the monument to João Pessoa was erected, formed by a granite that does not exist in situ in the municipality. Other varied and rare lytic types decorate these buildings internally. Its constructions, human settlements, uses of land and sea, among other apparatuses are consequences of certain natural conditions ideal for the creation of human labor, which resulted in the urban expansion of João Pessoa city. It is based on the experience of a university extension project, the “Solidarity Map”. The project connects vulnerable territories to possible donations while identifying social groups most impacted by the crisis. Considering that the disease impacts more significantly those in a situation of housing precariousness, the article exhibits social inequality and its spatial distribution as it prioritizes initiatives by social movements and small organized groups. Combining technical data and academic papers with new territorialities originated from insurgent practices, the actions were registered and spatialized through Geographic Information System. It was noted that local solidarity networks existed even before the beginning of the pandemic, and that they can easily articulate actions in situations of emergency. Therefore, this article indicates the need to elaborate municipal emergency plans in order to provide support to these groups in a preventive manner.","PeriodicalId":369350,"journal":{"name":"GOT - Journal of Geography and Spatial Planning","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114409185","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
