SOLIDARIEDADE FRENTE À DESIGUALDADE EM TEMPOS DE PANDEMIA: UM OLHAR A PARTIR DE CURITIBA (BRASIL)
The objective of the article is to point out solidarity actions aimed at vulnerable territories in Curitiba, which were originated due to the Covid-19 crisis. It is based on the experience of a university extension project, the “Solidarity Map”. The project connects vulnerable territories to possible donations while identifying social groups most impacted by the crisis. Considering that the disease impacts more significantly those in a situation of housing precariousness, the article exhibits social inequality and its spatial distribution as it prioritizes initiatives by social movements and small organized groups. Combining technical data and academic papers with new territorialities originated from insurgent practices, the actions were registered and spatialized through Geographic Information System. It was noted that local solidarity networks existed even before the beginning of the pandemic, and that they can easily articulate actions in situations of emergency. Therefore, this article indicates the need to elaborate municipal emergency plans in order to provide support to these groups in a preventive manner.
