One of the main design principles was the usage of commercially available sensors that can be exchanged and upgraded easily without touching the underlying robot platform. The paper will also describe the autonomy functions for the navigation in unknown terrain. The local navigation service has the task to avoid collisions while driving towards a goal given in a local robot coordinate system. Obstacles are detected by the local navigation services using the laser scanners and are marked within a local map. The approach then tries to find a collision free path within this map data structure by carrying out a search in configuration space.","PeriodicalId":368762,"journal":{"name":"2011 12th International Carpathian Control Conference (ICCC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-05-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129099269","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In large enterprises this is typically done with bespoke billing software, tailored to the market of the business. Small businesses do not typically possess the skills to develop such complex systems, and so do not benefit from the efficiencies and revenue assurance that they deliver to their larger competitors. In order to make such bespoke systems more viable for SMEs, the impact on the business' cash flow need to be minimized. This is in terms of both the amount spent, and the period before the investment begins to generate cash for the business. This paper presents a case study exploring the identification and modeling of the business processes and systems required to automatically monetize a service to track vehicles using mobile phone derived sensors. The case-study explores the approach used, its strengths and weaknesses with respect to SMEs, and how it can be improved to minimize development costs and reduce lead-time.","PeriodicalId":368762,"journal":{"name":"2011 12th International Carpathian Control Conference (ICCC)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-05-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125526898","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the spirit of Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional application the delayed-dependent stability condition is derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities. The result giving a sufficient condition for stabilization of the time-delay system is illustrated with a numerical example to note reduced conservatism in the system structure.","PeriodicalId":368762,"journal":{"name":"2011 12th International Carpathian Control Conference (ICCC)","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-05-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128331803","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

That chain was represented by the mechanical system where the particular mechanical elements were linked in serial satisfying this setup: electric servomotor — mechanical gearbox — cam — load. The mechanical and the electrical parameters were monitored. The current and the voltage sensors were installed to determine the instantaneous electrical power and total electrical power as well. Furthermore, the torque sensors, encoders and accelerometers were installed too. The evaluation of signals from sensors allows a number of possible detections such as backlash occurrence, mechanical and electrical efficiency calculation, monitoring of the position accuracy for the motion functions (displacement law) application, influence of mechanical preload, properties of elastic parts, residual vibrations detection, possible instabilities etc. Measurements were performed in three stages. The first set of measurements was obtained applying the constant velocity of the servomotor. The minimal cam-roller backlash was mechanically adjusted. The load of the mechanism was realized using other servomotor which was applying the constant torque. In the second stage the displacement law was defined thus the angular velocity of actuator varied. In the last stage the effect of the mechanical backlash was investigated when the constant velocity of the actuator and constant torque of the load were set.","PeriodicalId":368762,"journal":{"name":"2011 12th International Carpathian Control Conference (ICCC)","volume":"82 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-05-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124675382","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With modifications of the standard algorithms for pole assignment based on singular value decomposition the exposition of the problem is generalized here to handle a specified structure of the right eigenvector set in state feedback control design for MIMO linear systems. Extra freedom, which makes dependent the closed-loop eigenvalues spectrum, is used for closed-loop state variables mode decoupling. The integrated procedure provides a straightforward methodology usable in linear control system design techniques when the memory-free controller in the state-space control structures takes the standard form.","PeriodicalId":368762,"journal":{"name":"2011 12th International Carpathian Control Conference (ICCC)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-05-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126834490","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
