An equation for measuring binary gas is deduced theoretically. It is found that the velocity of the ultrasonic wave in the binary gas has a relation with the gas concentration. Although the rate of speed change is very small, change in the phase of velocity can be obvious. An implementation of the research project is introduced from the points of theoretical analysis, system collectivity design and functional modules. Dual channel and measuring phase are used to measure the ultrasonic wave propagation time. Difference phase comparison is used to realize the accurate measurement for gas mixture. The shortcoming in conventional sound-time measurement is overcomed. In order to increase the device's precision, measures such as temperature compensation are adopted. The relation between the temperature and the dual-ultrasonic phase difference and the relation between the gas thickness and the dual-ultrasonic phase difference are found by experiments. Reasonable compensation has been made to those relations by software.","PeriodicalId":368038,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Networking, Sensing and Control","volume":"497 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123195332","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

PADR could balance the energy consumption of the network and prolong the lifetime of heavily loaded nodes. It could also improve throughput by avoiding lots of source route rebuilding, reduce the transmission delay of end-to-end and thus prolong the lifetime of the network. Through simulation, it is shown to be capable of outperforming some traditional source routing protocols.","PeriodicalId":368038,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Networking, Sensing and Control","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124258480","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To reduce the cognitive loading, a dynamic information presentation method has been put forward in this paper which calculates the utility of the information and presents it based on the visual selective attention. With this method, the presentation can adapt to the user and environment automatically. By organizing the information in small unit and calculating the utility of each unit, the amount of useless information has been reduced greatly. Different information piece has different utility, if the information with high utility would get more attention resource, the decision might be made more easily. After analyzing the current selective visual attention theory, a new presentation style based on user's visual attention also put forward in this paper. This model arranges information presentation according to the movement of sightline. Through visual attention control, the user can allocate his limited attention resource reasonably.","PeriodicalId":368038,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Networking, Sensing and Control","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121046009","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To improve the performance and the robustness of the system, multispectral palmprint images were employed to acquire more discriminative information. In this paper, we introduce a novel multispectral recognition method. In this context, we propose the fusion of palmprint and palm vein features to increase the accuracy of the biometric person recognition. The proposed approach is based on statistical study and energy distribution analysis of Finite Ridgelet transform coefficients, involving so low computation complexity. For multispectral palmprint images recognition, we tested the performance of three classifiers: K nearest neighbor (KNN), Support Vector Machine (SVM) and `One-Against-One' multi-class SVM (OAO-SVM) with RBF kernel using 6-folders cross-validation to assess the generalization capability of the proposed biometric system. The validation of our results is performed on multispectral palmprint images of CASIA database.","PeriodicalId":368038,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Networking, Sensing and Control","volume":"2013 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125675741","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

When the preset maneuvering angular rate of Sine Wave model is consistent with the real maneuvering angular rate of the target, the tracking accuracy of the target is the highest. But the maneuvering angular rate in the real situation is often unknown or even changing. In this paper, a maneuver detection method based on the framework of Kalman filter is proposed for the variable maneuvering angular rate situation of near space hypersonic vehicles during the cruise segment. At the same time, an adaptive adjustment method of filter parameters and model parameters is given. Victim search & rescue operations with swarm robots in some disaster scenarios have attracted increasing attention within the field of multi-agent research community. Swarm robots possess the potential to save lives by providing the rescuers location of victim during the most critical early hours. The ongoing project of swarm robots for search victim in coal mine disaster areas focuses on the modeling method and control strategies. This paper modeled such distributed system at an abstract level in accordance with the swarm intelligence principles, which used a virtual multi-agents search to identify the target position in a closed 2-D workspace. The control over all robots for searching target was divided into global search and local search: before the target signal was detected by both certain robot itself and its neighbors belonging to the same neighborhood structure, it would move spirally rather than random walk for search cues to offer evidence for using extended particle swarm optimization algorithm for search target. Taking inherent characteristics of physical robots, finite sense ability and local interaction mode into account in control policy, we obtained the properties of the system by changing different parameters such as number of robots, communication range and sense scope. Simulation indicates the validity of the control strategy.","PeriodicalId":368038,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Networking, Sensing and Control","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123313086","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A normal network behavior model is necessary in any anomaly detection. Assuming that abnormal network behaviors are obviously different from normal ones, there should be some abnormal network packets that are obviously different from normal packets. Normal network packets are disassembled into binary strings whose lengths are l, and all the strings construct a set U<sub>normal</sub>. The normal network behavior model is a set U<sub>model</sub>. The length of each element in U<sub>model</sub> is also l. U<sub>model</sub> is made up of those elements each of which matches at least one element in U<sub>normal</sub> and doesn't match any other element in U<sub>model</sub>. Normal network behaviors hide in U<sub>model</sub>. The size of U<sub>model</sub> is discussed. Experimental results indicate that abnormal network behaviors can feasibly be detected with U<sub>model</sub>. Further work is to construct a more feasible U<sub>model</sub> to put into practice.","PeriodicalId":368038,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Networking, Sensing and Control","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115296772","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
