To suppress the production of Aβ peptides, many kinds of agents have been developed for inhibiting the cleavage of amyloid precursor protein (APP) by secretases. However, because the secretases also play important roles the production of vital proteins for the human body, inhibitors for the secretases may have side effects. In the present study, to propose new agents for protecting the cleavage site of APP from the attacking of the γ-secretase, we investigate the specific interactions between a short APP peptide and curcumin derivatives, using protein-ligand docking as well as ab initio molecular simulations. Our proposed derivatives (curcumin VI and IX) are found to have a large binding energy with APP, and they are expected to be a potent inhibitor to the production of Aβ peptides.","PeriodicalId":367414,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference On Advanced Informatics: Concepts, Theory And Application (ICAICTA)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115483493","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Real problems arise when choosing the best set of gestures for a given application, and there is a strong debate in the literature on whether to include users in the design process of the gestures. This paper elaborates on this debate by synthesizing the ideas and theories put forth by previous work, and describes the emergence of user-centered approach amongst the primary domination of developer-based approach in this particular research area. Three influential methods were summarized to represents the essence of the user-centered approach; and recent works that applied these methods were reviewed to consider the various ways they were adopted and adapted in creating gesture languages for computing systems. By presenting the overview of our observation and findings, we hope to provide another perspective on the user-centered design approach that would be of assistance to other researchers with similar interests in this area.","PeriodicalId":367414,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference On Advanced Informatics: Concepts, Theory And Application (ICAICTA)","volume":"144 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115245208","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The handling is done as the preprocessing in the machine translation system. In the preprocessing, we classify utterance disfluency using a combination of statistical based technique and rule based technique. We used 4 types of disfluency such as filler (for filled pause and discourse marker), rough copy, noncopy, and stutter. For the statistical based, we employ lexical features and CRF algorithm. In the experiment on the disfluency classification, we compared the statistical based only method and the hybrid method. The experimental result has shown that using a hybrid method achieved higher performance than only the statistical based method. The disfluency classification result is employed in the machine translation and enhance the BLEU score of Indonesian-English machine translation.","PeriodicalId":367414,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference On Advanced Informatics: Concepts, Theory And Application (ICAICTA)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126926679","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the cache occupies a large part of the processor's energy consumption. Furthermore, due to the characteristics of SRAMs, it is hard to reduce the supply voltage of the cache compared to that of the CPU core. Thus, dynamic voltage and frequency scaling (DVFS) which is widely used to reduce the processor's energy consumption does not reduce cache energy significantly. To confront this problem, we investigated a method which applies different power and speed design caches and switching them in proportion to the DVFS activity. Our proposal modifies the L1 cache hierarchy to L1 low-speed cache and L1 high-speed cache and selects them or access in sequential in proportion to DVFS activity to reduce cache energy demand. We confirmed that the proposal has a potential for further reduction of cache energy consumption with both cache design simulation and processor architecture level simulation.","PeriodicalId":367414,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference On Advanced Informatics: Concepts, Theory And Application (ICAICTA)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125353653","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Several NLP modules were integrated into InaNLP to make people easier in building an NLP system for Indonesia language. The toolkit contains several NLP modules such as sentence splitter, tokenization, Part of Speech (POS) tagger, phrase chunker, named entity (NE) tagger, syntactic parser, semantic analyzer, and word normalization. Several NLP modules were built using rule based approach, whereas several others implemented statistical based approach. Here, the accuracy of several modules such as the POS tagger, NE tagger, syntactic parser and semantic analyzer are shown. In the NE tagger, five (5) word windows with features of POS, orthography, and word list are used. In the NE tagger experiment for evaluating the features, using SMO algorithm and 1500 sentences, for 15 NE classes, token classification accuracy of 93.419%, which outperform related work, could be achieved. For the POS tagger, using 12,000 token as the training data and 3,000 token as the testing data, the accuracy of 96.50% was achieved. For the syntactic parser, using CYK algorithm and 100 sentences as the training data and 36 sentences as the testing data, the experiment achieved the accuracy of 47.22%. For the semantic analyzer, using 200 sentences as the training data, the experiment achieved the accuracy of 62.50%. This research also shows an example in building an Indonesia NLP system using InaNLP for complaint tweet classification. In the experiment for the complaint classification, using 7440 data, the experiment achieved 0.892 of average F-measure score.","PeriodicalId":367414,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference On Advanced Informatics: Concepts, Theory And Application (ICAICTA)","volume":"14 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125914856","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such as chat-like dialog systems, these systems which do not have any specific purpose are called “Non-Task-oriented spoken dialog system”. In this study, we focused on non-task-oriented spoken dialog systems. We have developed a multi-party chat-like dialog system with different preferences between two agents. In order to provide more enjoyable chatting to users, we focused on the relationship between two agents. In this study, we dealt with two types of the chat-like dialog system with two agents: an “Unsympathetic dialog system ”where one agent's preference differs from another agent, and a “Sympathetic dialog system” where both agents have the same preference. We evaluated user's degree of satisfaction by using our developed systems. As a result of the experiment, the sympathetic dialog system achieved a better impression in chatting. In order to solve the system problems obtained from the experimental results, we designed a new dialog system in order to deal with a more enjoyable conversation.","PeriodicalId":367414,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference On Advanced Informatics: Concepts, Theory And Application (ICAICTA)","volume":"134 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122266726","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many terms appeared such as cyber city, smart city, intelligent city, or whatever it's called with the various developments of concepts that offer a wide range of sophistication and ease in managing any city needs. But behind the greatness of the proposed system, whether they are aware of how the characteristics of a city should be. In a city, there are so many diversities of the dynamic elements that make us must have an adaptive system to control it. This paper proposes an approach that has concern for the importance of adaptability to help the city management system. Two type of problems that become the main focus that make why the self-adaptive capability is important are deterministic and non-deterministic problems. The developed key strategy consists of two approaches. First, through series of modification for representing new problem space for solving a deterministic problem. Second, a non-deterministic problem is handled by a system that prepared automatically to search solution. The main objective of this paper is to depict a model to handle both types, through cyber city case illustration.","PeriodicalId":367414,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference On Advanced Informatics: Concepts, Theory And Application (ICAICTA)","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116460119","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
