Signal-to-clutter ratio is a determining factor for the detection problem. Raising SCR can bring about an improvement. Here, a cascaded detection scheme is presented. The enhancement of SCR at each stage result in the ultimate improvement of detection performance. At first, by exploiting polarization information, the fused and enhanced one-dimensional range profile is obtained. Then the target's detection is transformed to that of scattering points owing to the high resolving property. Finally, a simulation experiment verifies that the ultimate detection performance is improved.","PeriodicalId":366998,"journal":{"name":"2001 CIE International Conference on Radar Proceedings (Cat No.01TH8559)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2001-10-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131426041","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper is based on higher-order statistics (HOS). It only requires calculating the slice of higher-order statistics, and eliminates the calculation of multi-dimensional Fourier transforms. Therefore it requires less computational complexity. At the same time, because higher order statistics can greatly suppress the additive Gaussian noise, it possesses improved performance. For comparison purposes, some simulations, adopting the new method and the classical power spectrum estimation respectively, are introduced. The results show that the new method can effectively extract the range and velocity information of a moving object.","PeriodicalId":366998,"journal":{"name":"2001 CIE International Conference on Radar Proceedings (Cat No.01TH8559)","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2001-10-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128334719","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This method is based on the discrete time domain model of the echo signal. In addition to the usual matched filter used by image reconstruction of SAR, other two filters are used to get responses which have the same shapes as the responses of the first ambiguities. After the outputs of the latter two filters are subtracted from that of the matched filter, we can get a response nearly free of the first ambiguities. Simulation shows that this method is effective. This method is helpful in improving SAR image quality and relaxing the constraints of the pulse repetition frequency (PRF) in SAR system design.","PeriodicalId":366998,"journal":{"name":"2001 CIE International Conference on Radar Proceedings (Cat No.01TH8559)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2001-10-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133141806","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Several discrete FRFT methods developed previously are reviewed briefly. A novel discretization method for FRFT is presented in this paper. It has some advantages such as being easily understood and implemented compared with the previous DFRFT methods. Especially, it needs a small amount of computation because only a diagonal matrix has to be recomputed when the rotational angle is changed. In addition, it does not need to consider the match between eigenvalues and eigenvectors, or to orthogonalize the DFT Hermite eigenvectors. A few simulation results for some typical signals are provided to verify the correctness of the proposed method.","PeriodicalId":366998,"journal":{"name":"2001 CIE International Conference on Radar Proceedings (Cat No.01TH8559)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2001-10-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127739461","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to perform fault detection, localization and isolation effectively, it is necessary to design a built-in self-testing (BIST) module specific to the corresponding system. This paper presents a BIST method based. on compressed 2-dimensional signature analysis. The principle of compression and performance of test are discussed in detail. Using the presented method, a high faulty coverage ratio (FCR) can be achieved with a short signature compressed in both time domain and space domain. Theoretical analysis shows that this method is reliable and it can be easily implemented in hardware.","PeriodicalId":366998,"journal":{"name":"2001 CIE International Conference on Radar Proceedings (Cat No.01TH8559)","volume":"76 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2001-10-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128407058","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
