This paper derives in detail the mean, variance and distribution of the monopulse ratio for a Rayleigh target and explains their physical meaning. The result is the CAOS (cell averaging ordered statistic) CFAR. Against this background, a new CFAR algorithm is introduced. It is called CASH (cell averaging statistic Hofele (1997)) CFAR. Compared with the thresholds of the other CFARs (CA, CAGO, OS, CAOS), the thresholds of this new CFAR algorithm is of exceptionally high quality. Moreover, the processing power required by the CASH-CFAR is significantly less than for the OS- and CAOS-CFAR.","PeriodicalId":366998,"journal":{"name":"2001 CIE International Conference on Radar Proceedings (Cat No.01TH8559)","volume":"196 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2001-10-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124367377","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Then, the extraction algorithm of high-resolution target feature vectors for ATR in the presence of colored Gaussian noise is developed, which is not restricted by the low SNR and Rayleigh resolution limit. Therefore, an eight-stage ATR scheme based on the hybrid algorithm is proposed. The DSP chips are used with parallel architecture. Each node has its private input and output memory. It adopts several parallel techniques, such as parallel storage, parallel processing, parallel code loading and parallel data organization to achieve high efficiency. It has a simple structure, excellent flexibility and easiness in developing. ARPS2 is going to be applied to an airborne radar.
