Sandwich panels having diverse prismatic cores have been investigated and comparisons have been carried out for finding the best design. For this reason, the importance of optimization techniques particularly metaheuristics is understood. Water cycle algorithm (WCA), as a recently developed optimizer, is inspired from water cycle process. The optimum dimensions and the minimum weight have been calculated in order to design ultra-light weight sandwich panels. The imposed constraints in this problem are buckling load and yield stress. The obtained figures and results conclude that the diamond prismatic topology (having corrugation order of 4) is the most weight efficient among other existing designs under specific loading direction.","PeriodicalId":366262,"journal":{"name":"2013 Fourth Global Congress on Intelligent Systems","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125092665","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The optimization of the model parameters, including penalty factor and kernel function variance, is realized by the artificial fish swarm algorithm. The model is used to predict nine foreign exchange rate data with updating and rolling. At the same time, simulating by the cross validation, genetic algorithm, particle swarm optimization algorithm and then evaluating the results from the total error (TE), relative error (RE), absolute root mean square error (ARMSE) and correct trend rate (CTR) comprehensively, the comparison shows that the errors of the model based on SVR optimized by artificial fish swarm algorithm are all minimum and CTR are maximum. In the end, in order to improve the convergence speed and precision further, the self-adaption artificial fish swarm algorithm is presented which is joined the attenuation factor and based on the average distance visual. The result is ideal. Therefore, SVR optimized by the improved artificial fish swarm algorithm can be effectively used in forex prediction.","PeriodicalId":366262,"journal":{"name":"2013 Fourth Global Congress on Intelligent Systems","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129507986","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Estimating Signal Parameter via Rotational Invariance Technique (ESPRIT) is firstly used to extract the pattern from the image of the patterned fabric. Then, the shape and location of the flawed areas are detected by comparing the pattern image and the source image. A rough set classifier is trained and tested to detect the types of defects in the patterned fabric image. Experimental results show that this method can successfully analyze and recognize oil warp and weft defects in patterned fabrics with nearly 96% success rate.","PeriodicalId":366262,"journal":{"name":"2013 Fourth Global Congress on Intelligent Systems","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130772450","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition, long-term memory had a proactive interference to short-term memory that could be found by observing the changes of potentials in the brain. In clinical trials, subjects randomly selected a poker card (target) to be memorized. Subsequently, they were tested by the recognition task that was comprised of a target card and two different cards. The changes of ERPs during card presentation reflected the retrieval process of memory in the brain. Experimental results revealed that the amplitude of P300 of ERPs was related to the short-term memory and could be used to identify whether the presented card was in one's memory or not. The card that was memorized in the short-term memory elicited a larger P300 than other cards without memorization. However, experimental results also found that some meaningful cards, for example spade-2, existed in one's long-term memory and elicited larger P300 amplitude than memorized cards in short-term memory, achieving significant levels. Thus, long-term memory affected the recognition task of short-term memory. The electrophysiological changes are an indicator to memory process and reflect the degree of meaning of objects in the memory. The research provided valuable results that support theories about memory in psychology.","PeriodicalId":366262,"journal":{"name":"2013 Fourth Global Congress on Intelligent Systems","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129484072","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For solving long-term effects in aquatic ecosystems due to the human-induced actions, we need to use benthic macro invertebrates instead of a chemical analysis. The use of benthic macro invertebrates requires their identification which is a laborius and cost-intensive task. By means of automated taxa identification of macro invertebrates the costs can be reduced and the identification process can be speeded up. However, the identification demands reliable tools. In this research we extended the use of one-vs-one method from Support Vector Machines into several other classification methods and we examined the tie situation problem which is encountered in one-vs-one method. Overall, we used 15 different classification methods in this paper. By thorough experimental tests we achieved 96.8% accuracy by using Support Vector Machines with the quadratic kernel. Tie situation analysis revealed that ties were more frequent when using Support Vector Machines together with one-vs-one classification framework and majority voting method than other classification methods.","PeriodicalId":366262,"journal":{"name":"2013 Fourth Global Congress on Intelligent Systems","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121786849","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since then, China faces an inefficient controlling and critical situation which is just like other developing countries at past 20years. It can be seen easily from present situation of AIDS transmission that the key of AIDS epidemic prevention and control is on prevention and control of AIDS transmission speed and range. That means that AIDS should implement the \"prevention is better than cure\" strategy. With information technology in-depth applications in prevention and control of AIDS transmission, information technology provides a new technical mode for prevent and control of AIDS transmission. This paper developed a time-space simulation of AIDS transmission and Assistant Decision Support System which based on the technology of Agent-based modeling (ABM) and Geographic information system (GIS) and took Kunming for example. OBJECTVIES: (1) Constructing AIDS agent model which will simulate the propagation of AIDS, (2) Implementing the functions of spatial analysis, spatial query, spatial statistics, dynamics spatially trend analysis of AIDS transmission, making and administrating of AIDS preparedness, monitoring and early warning analysis of AIDS epidemic, decision support spread of AIDS epidemic in a GIS environment. (3) Helping decision-makers decide on the best strategy to mitigate the spread of infection.
