Therefore, the determinants of \u0000corporate and retail credit risks in the banking sector of Egypt during \u00002013-2020 were studied in the present work to provide better \u0000insight into how the macroeconomic and microeconomic \u0000determinants affect the level of credit risks. \u0000Methodology: the present research utilized the Dickey-Fuller test to \u0000assess the stationarity of the panel data and then employed the \u0000generalized method of moments (GMM) for data analysis.\u0000Findings: it was found that asset size, loans-to-deposits, inflation, \u0000gross domestic product (GDP), and lending interest rate were \u0000negatively associated with the corporate credit risk, while the capital \u0000adequacy ratio, foreign direct investment (FDI), and public debt were \u0000positively related. Moreover, the loans-to-deposits ratio was \u0000negatively associated with retail credit risk, while the capital \u0000adequacy ratio was positively related.\u0000Originality/Value: In this context, classifying the credit risk into \u0000corporate and retail credit risk was very crucial as it illustrated that \u0000the corporate credit risk was more sensitive to the determinants than \u0000the retail ones.

In order to categorise 22 skills into four \u0000groups—business, soft, technical, digital, and ethical skills—data was \u0000collected from 91 respondents (28.3% response rate) during the \u0000course of the month of February 2023\u0000Findings: According to the study's results, today's accountants place \u0000a higher value on time management, problem-solving, critical \u0000thinking, knowledge of and ability to interpret accounting standards, \u0000leadership (SS), business knowledge (BS), professional behaviour, \u0000adherence to the code of conduct (ES), financial statement \u0000preparation, interpretation, and analysis (TDS), as well as other \u0000skills. The independent variables "business skills" (BS), "technical \u0000and digital skills" (TDS), and the control variable "continental \u0000location" (CL) all significantly improve the employment performance \u0000of accountants, according to the findings of the regression analysis.\u0000Originality/Value: This study advances both theory and \u0000application. It places a strong emphasis on educating professional \u0000accountants about the need to arm themselves with the newest skill \u0000sets in light of a changing environment in order to improve their \u0000performance at work. It also looks at the most important skills that \u0000affect how well professional accountants perform. The study \u0000recommends that colleges and institutions provide accounting \u0000students enough time to acquire each of the four skill sets. The data required is \u0000correlated to financial performance, free cash flow, cash \u0000holding, and company overinvestment. Data is input \u0000manually from the financial reports obtained from the \u0000website of each firm. To examine the hypothesis, this \u0000study applied multiple regression analysis methods. \u0000Findings: The results show that free cash flow has a \u0000significant and negative effect on overinvestment. It \u0000illustrates that higher free cash flow does not encourage \u0000a manager to overinvestment. This result support \u0000hypothesis 1 (H1). Cash holding affects overinvestment \u0000positively and significantly. These results indicate that \u0000higher cash holdings inspire managers to \u0000overinvestment. These results support hypothesis 2 (H2). \u0000Firm performance influences overinvestment negatively \u0000and significantly. This result indicates that higher firm \u0000performance does not motivate a manager to \u0000overinvestment. It is\u0000reported that during the COVID-19 pandemic, businesses have \u0000used accounting discretion in order to cope with difficult \u0000economic conditions. The use of discretion in the accounting \u0000process may instigate earnings manipulations which reduce \u0000earnings quality. This raises the following research question: \u0000has earnings quality decreased during the COVID-19 \u0000pandemic? This paper aimed at examining earnings quality \u0000(EQ) of South African listed firms during the COVID-19 \u0000pandemic. Specifically, the study examined the EQ of these \u0000firms before and during the COVID-19 pandemic.\u0000Methodology: Weighted least square regression was used to \u0000analyze a sample of 132 non-financial firms listed on the \u0000Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) over the period of 2018 to \u00002021. The sampled firms were extracted from the IRESS \u0000research domain. Conservatism and accrual quality were used \u0000to measure earnings quality because these two measures \u0000required the exercise of discretion.\u0000Findings: The results attained were mixed and suggested that, \u0000although the sampled firms did not apply accounting \u0000conservatism in reported earnings during the COVID-19 \u0000pandemic period as compared to the period before the \u0000pandemic, there is no evidence of the use of accrual quality to \u0000manipulate earnings during the pandemic period as compared \u0000to the period before the pandemic.\u0000Originality/Value: The paper will shed light on whether \u0000accounting information remains reliable during unstable \u0000economic conditions. Unemployment forecasting is\u0000vital for informed policymaking, particularly in countries like \u0000Tanzania.\u0000Methodology: This study employs a quantitative research design \u0000and adopts Box Jenkin's methodology and the ARIMA \u0000(AutoRegressive Integrated Moving Average) model for \u0000unemployment forecasting in Tanzania. The entire available dataset \u0000for the specified period is utilized, employing a non-probability \u0000sampling technique. Diagnostic tests, including ACF (AutoCorrelation \u0000Function), PACF (Partial AutoCorrelation Function), and unit root \u0000analysis, are conducted to guide the optimal model selection. \u0000Differencing addresses non-stationarity in the time series data by \u0000removing trend and seasonality effects. The optimal model selection\u0000is based on criteria such as AIC (Akaike Information Criterion), \u0000Schwartz, and Hannan-Quinn.\u0000Findings: The study finds that the ARIMA (3,1,4) model \u0000demonstrates superior performance in forecasting the \u0000unemployment rate in Tanzania. Diagnostic checks validate the \u0000adequacy of the model, revealing white noise residuals. The forecasts \u0000indicate a consistent downward trend in unemployment rates over \u0000the next nine years, suggesting potential labour market \u0000improvements in Tanzania. These findings enhance our \u0000understanding of Tanzania's unemployment dynamics and provide \u0000valuable insights for policymakers.\u0000Originality/Value: The study lies in its application of Box Jenkin's \u0000methodology and the ARIMA model to unemployment forecasting in \u0000Tanzania. By utilizing the entire available dataset and employing \u0000diagnostic tests for model selection, the study enhances the \u0000reliability of the forecasting approach.
