The proposed method inherits the Vdc ~ ω droop control for inertia emulation and frequency control, and Q ~ V droop control for AC voltage support. The current-limiting property, which is a critical issue for the protection of grid interface inverters throughout the whole operation including the grid faults is proven analytically for VI-based VSCs using nonlinear control theory. Furthermore, small-signal stability of the system is examined considering the effects of different controller gains in order to provide guidance for the selection of their values. To validate both the small-signal stability and nonlinear current limitation proof, extensive Matlab/Simulink simulations are performed.","PeriodicalId":365956,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 30th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE)","volume":"71 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131595682","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This practice may be misleading to the quality control management, not providing an effective and error-prone quality control operation. This paper proposes a cost-effective solution for supporting the realization of gauge inspection control procedures by using emergent technologies, namely Human-Machine interfaces and virtual reality, to guide more efficiently the operators during the execution of their tasks, and using Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud technologies to dynamically collect and store the inspection results. The proposed solution was deployed in an industrial production facility, with the achieved results showing its efficiency and robustness, as well as a very positive feedback from the operators. This solution also contributes for a faster and more efficient execution of inspection tests, particularly reducing the setup time required to change the product reference being inspected.","PeriodicalId":365956,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 30th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122661642","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To avoid the installation of measurement devices for each PEV, a resilient distributed frequency estimation strategy is presented for PEVs with the frequency measurements taken only at distribution substations. Since the communication links among PEVs are vulnerable to cyber attacks, this strategy integrates a credibility-based intrusion detection unit to distinguish compromised PEVs. Then, a maximal power acquisition algorithm is designed for well-being PEVs, to obtain sufficient power capacity for the frequency regulation. In simulations, we validate the effectiveness of the credibility-based distributed frequency estimation scheme for PEVs under strongly connected interaction topology. Also, we verify the rapidity of LFC with the coordination of well-being PEVs compared with its conventional counterpart.","PeriodicalId":365956,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 30th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE)","volume":"95 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126916476","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However its performance is severely compromised when backlash is present in the transmission, as the reengaging of the mechanical components causes a excessive impact torque in the system. Conventional gear impact suppression methods require the use of load-side encoders and backlash models, which could be costly and difficult to implement, particularly in robots. This paper proposes a gear impact suppression method based on a impact torque suppressor (ITS), which consists of scheduled torque-derivative-feedback directly to the joint torsional dynamics. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by simulation and experimental results.","PeriodicalId":365956,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 30th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE)","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125764084","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Within the German cluster of excellence “Internet of Production” (IoP), model-based control strategies are researched using collective knowledge accumulated in shared databases, and adapted online according to sensor acquired data. With their inherent generalization ability and affinity for greybox modeling, Support Vector Machines (SVM) are very suitable for such online identification and adaption. However, the computational efficiency of the identification, while maintaining accuracy, is crucial for the real-time capability of the overall framework. This work compares different definitions of the learning problem with SVM for the identification of dynamic systems. Computational efficiency within the given framework is thereby of particular interest. In addition, an extension of existing libraries by transfer learning capabilities is investigated to further speed up the recurrent online identification scheme. The results suggest that SVM with “Sequential Minimal Optimization” (SMO) qualify as a real-time capable general purpose identification approach for model-based control of the derived framework. The addition of transfer learning heavily contributes to the real-time capability.","PeriodicalId":365956,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 30th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE)","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124433731","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In general, this is welcome but it also introduces new challenges. The diversity of electrical energy production grows and puts stress on the grid, its operators, and energy distribution planning. New ways for compensating the introduced instabilities are needed. Energy communities can address distributed production issues by adjusting the local demand as good as locally possible. This paper presents a methodology for simulating an energy community controller to test mechanism for smoothing grid load by aggregating available flexibilities of energy community members on a communal level. The controller tries to minimize load from or to the community by using different flexibilities and prediction algorithms within the community.","PeriodicalId":365956,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 30th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122220429","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed motor topology is fed by four, three-phase voltage inverters with two isolated DC sources. The FOC technique requires a precise knowledge of some machine's variables such as rotor position and rotor flux which are difficult to measure. Usually, the rotor position and motor speed are measured by a shaft-mounted encoder, but that makes the maintenance activities more difficult, and reduces system's reliability. Motor flux measurement is more complicated and requires machine's built in sensors. Therefore, a rotor flux-based model reference adaptive system (RF-MRAS) is proposed in this paper for the estimation of both rotor flux and rotor speed. In addition, the classic integral proportional (PI) controller is replaced by a FL controller to achieve better speed response at different operating points. The proposed control scheme is built within the Simulink environment combined with the Real-Time platform. Real time results are obtained to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed control under different operating conditions.","PeriodicalId":365956,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 30th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE)","volume":"99 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132881002","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
