First, the incremental prediction model is used to eliminate the influence of permanent magnet flux linkage, and discrete space modulation technique is applied to improve the steady-state error and decrease the current fluctuation. Then, the prediction error caused by parameter mismatch is derived and a novel feed-forward compensation method is proposed. In order to improve the accuracy of compensation term and mitigate the negative influence caused by current sampling noise, the compensation coefficient is filtered. Simulation results confirm that good transient and steady-state performance can be guaranteed using the proposed method even when motor parameters deviate sharply from their nominal values. In addition, the method proposed is also robust to disturbance existing in current sampling and DC bus voltage.","PeriodicalId":365956,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 30th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE)","volume":"127 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115148109","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Collaboration can only happen in situations, where the human and robot is separated with a distance, which allows safety sensors to stop the robot system in any point if the human is in too close proximity of the robot. Safety sensors cannot decide over risks, consequences, neither any counter measures to prevent undesired outcome (e.g. collision between human and robot). Safety sensors are only reacting on proximity and can only give severity signal to the robotic system (e.g. no human, slow speed, full stop). This paper presents a new way to address safety sensors: voxel based, dynamic, collision state-space monitoring for human-robot collaboration with high payload robots. The general architecture and some initial test are presented, along with introduction of the problem statement.","PeriodicalId":365956,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 30th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115710821","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Through a rearrangement of the traditional power conversion structures, the converter only processes a fraction of the total power while the rest is directly transmitted to the load. Consequently, a significant reduction in size and cost of the converter is achieved through the use of low-power ratings devices, allowing also higher efficiencies. Partial power converters have been proposed for various applications, such as photovoltaic (PV) systems. In PV applications single-phase grid-connected PV inverter are composed usually by two-stage power conversion, a full power DC-DC converter and a hard-switched high frequency PWM inverter. Although, different DC-DC partial power converter have been proposed as a first stage, most of the existing solutions deals with constant DC-DC regulation voltage, then the DC-AC grid tied inverter stage still requires to perform all the inversion through hard-switched PWM strategy. In this paper a partial power unfolding dc-dc stage is proposed, which generates a rectified sinusoidal current, leaving only the unfolding duty to the inverter stage. As a result, only one hard-switched PWM partial power stage composes the system, increasing the efficiency. The proposed partial power inverter is applied on a 3.3kW PV string inverter. Simulation results are provide to verify the interest of the proposed partial power DC-AC inverter.","PeriodicalId":365956,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 30th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121085537","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two parameters of the first principles state-space model of the servo system are optimally tuned using a metaheuristic Grey Wolf Optimizer algorithm in terms of several runs that lead to the parameter intervals. The derivation of the TP model starts with the linear parameter varying model of the servo system, which is next transformed to the strictly speaking TP model, inserted in a series connection with the servo system nonlinearity. The behaviors of the servo system, the TP model and the first principles model are tested in a different scenario to the parameter identification one, and the outputs are measured. The experimental results on a servo system laboratory equipment show that the TP model derived for this system ensures good performance in terms of small relative modeling errors.","PeriodicalId":365956,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 30th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE)","volume":"147 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124706176","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The low frequency dynamics of lithium-ion batteries are rarely described accurately in existing models, which leads to the inability to establish the equivalence relationship between the time-domain model and the frequency-domain model. In this study, the equivalence of time and frequency domain modeling of lithium-ion batteries is illustrated based on a comparison between the parameter values of the equivalent circuit model (ECM) obtained from the time domain and those of the same ECM from the frequency domain. The time-domain parameters are extracted from the Hybrid Pulse Power Characterization (HPPC), and the frequency-domain ECM is fitted by the Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The equivalence is verified by theoretical derivation and experiments.","PeriodicalId":365956,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 30th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE)","volume":"86 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124798459","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These signals are analyzed both under starting and under steady-state regimes for two different types of flux sensors. Furthermore, a new fault indicator based on the SVD of the envelope of the spectral kurtosis is proposed, yielding satisfactory results for fault classification, observing a common trend in both cases at starting and in steady-state independent of the flux sensor type and position. A comparative analysis between the two motor operating regimes is carried out, obtaining several conclusions about the suitability of each regime for the application of the methodology in real applications.","PeriodicalId":365956,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 30th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125784861","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

LIME is one of the low-light image enhancement methods based on Retinex theory. Retinex theory assumes that the image is decomposed into the illumination component and the reflectance component. In LIME, the illumination map is estimated by solving optimization problem for edge-aware smoothing and the output image is obtained by adjusting the illumination map. Though LIME significantly enhances the contrast in dark regions, it tends to cause clipping in the bright regions. In this paper, we propose a new method of low-light image enhancement. In the proposed method, firstly the illumination map is estimated by the soft-closing operation using smoothed local histogram. Then, the output image is obtained by adjusting the illumination in the same way as LIME. The proposed method can improve the contrast of the image overall while suppressing clipping in bright regions. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by experiments using various images.","PeriodicalId":365956,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 30th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126757180","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

VIENNA rectifier is a three-phase active PFC rectifier topology, which consists of a diode bridge accompanied by a neutral point connection via reverse-blocking switches. The factors affecting the optimal switch choice include the used switching frequency, maximum allowed input current total harmonic distortion, and initial investment cost. In this paper, the suitability of Si IGBTs and SiC MOSFETs in a VIENNA rectifier is evaluated with a technical and economical comparison. The findings indicate that for a 15 kW VIENNA rectifier with a 5 % THD specification, Si IGBTs are a more cost-effective alternative than SiC MOSFETs. This is mainly due to the high initial investment cost of SiC MOSFETS, and no distinct technical advantage in using over 30 kHz switching frequencies.","PeriodicalId":365956,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 30th International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (ISIE)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126828072","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
