The MCO has had an undeniably profound effect on students, with many now having to switch to online learning and forgoing their usual routines and interactions with peers. Unfortunately, some students have been struggling to adjust to the new normal, and this has led to a lack of manners among the younger generation. The MCO has caused huge disruption to their lives, and this can lead to a lack of respect for authority figures and a general lack of courtesy. Some students have been observed using inappropriate language, speaking disrespectfully to teachers, and failing to show consideration for others. Parents and teachers need to address these issues as soon as possible and remind students of the importance of good manners. Parents should ensure that their children understand the importance of treating others with respect and showing consideration for those around them. Teachers should also ensure that their students understand the consequences of their actions and the importance of maintaining a positive attitude. Parents and teachers should also focus on the importance of communication and actively encourage students to talk about their feelings and concerns. Finally, it is important to remember that the MCO will eventually come to an end and that students will once again be able to attend school and interact with their peers. Until then, parents and teachers should continue to do their best to ensure that students maintain good manners and continue to uphold the values of respect and courtesy.","PeriodicalId":36486,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Modern Education and Computer Science","volume":"22 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"72674818","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

After enroll and undergo the subject, it turns out that non-Muslim students are at a significant level of acceptance of Islam, especially when talking with Muslim students at UiTM. Understanding the subject of Islam for non-Muslim students is not easy even if at the beginning level. There are various questions, doubts, and uncertainties among non-Muslim students about Islam before they enroll to the subject of Islam. In addition, the reality is more challenging when there are many negative perceptions and misunderstandings about Islam in the mass media that they perceive from the wrong perspectives. Therefore, this study aims to explore the experience and teaching methods of two subject codes, namely IDA 202 (Islamic Society and State) and IDA 102 (Man and Religion) at UITM Perlis in order to identify the level of acceptance of non-Muslim students for the subject of Islam. The analysis of non-Muslim students intake semester one and three in October 2022 to February 2023. The data was retrieved from the commitment of teaching staff during teaching and learning process throughout the semester. Furthermore, the study will present the results of the SUFO (Student Feedback Online Survey) and the final test scores to analyze the effectiveness of teaching the subject of Islam to non-Muslim students at UiTM Perlis. The results of the study found that the IDA subject content was able to explain the negative perception of non-Muslim students toward the knowledge of Islam. Nevertheless, there are still taboo that relates sun exposure and skin cancer and this phenomenon makes people prefer staying indoor most of the time. Many international studies have been conducted to assess the public perceptions towards sun exposure. To date, there is scarce data on this topic among students in Malaysia. Objectives: This study aimed to assess the knowledge, awareness and behaviours towards sun exposure among the Diploma in Pharmacy students of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). Methods: An online cross-sectional study was conducted from March to May 2022 among the Diploma of Pharmacy students in UiTM Cawangan Pulau Pinang. A self-administered questionnaire was constructed in Google Forms consisting of multiple-choice closed-ended questions. Descriptive analysis were used to summarise the sociodemographic profile of the respondents while Chi-square test was used to explore the association between sociodemographic variables and adequacy of knowledge, awareness and behaviour. Result: A total of 176 students with a 100% response rate participated in the study. Majority of the students had high knowledge on the benefits of sun exposure and high awareness on harmful effects of lacking sun exposure. They also showed slightly positive behaviour towards sun exposure. Conclusion: Education and awareness regarding the effects of sun exposure on human health, particularly among students, has to be more progressive. With good instruction and understanding from everyone, we could inform the public about the benefits of sun exposure and encourage them to practise it safely.","PeriodicalId":36486,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Modern Education and Computer Science","volume":"31 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79532707","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As part of the curriculum objectives, online assessments are carried out to assess students' comprehension and to evaluate the effectiveness and quality of the teaching and learning process. Many students were heavily affected by these sudden transformations from traditional face-to-face (F2F) to forced online assessments. Thus, making it intriguing for academics to explore students' experiences of online assessment at the higher education level. Our study investigates students’ perceptions and challenges faced of online assessments. A cross-sectional study was conducted by distributing questionnaire to pharmacy students at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Kampus Bertam through online Google Form. Data obtained from the questionnaire which consisted of demographic information, perceptions and challenges of online assessments were tabulated and analysed using Microsoft Excel and SPSS. Our findings on perceptions revealed that online assessments were conducted in many ways (92.3%) and using multiple platforms (91.6%). Online assessments enhanced self-learning (89.5%), convenient and flexible (86.0%) and faster compared to paper assessments (78.3%). Nevertheless, respondents stated that online assessments are neither applicable for all courses (70.6%) nor for all students (60.8%) whilst 86.7% of respondents stated the vulnerability of online assessments to cheating. Likewise, most students indicated distractions at home or from others (86.0%) as the challenge of online assessments followed by difficulties in answering questions within time limit (76.9%), lack of motivation (75.5%) and do not have enough time to check all answers (72.7%). Suggestions from respondents to improve online assessment approaches include allocating more time during assessment, increase engagement and feedback between students and lecturers and tighten up security to prevent students from dishonesty. In general, the study illustrates the acceptance and the constructive approach of online assessments amongst students. Though, the challenges encountered need to be acknowledged and resolved accordingly.","PeriodicalId":36486,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Modern Education and Computer Science","volume":"106 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88993299","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Some argued there are similarities between the Malay’s practices, words and literature influences to the Hindus as well as Buddhists while some strongly refuted, saying that all aspect are solely influenced by Islamic traits. This research was carried out to prove that Islamization serves as the key factor in the Malay society’s transformation particularly in terms of language, literature and culture. It is in accordance with a Western Philosopher’s ideology, \"a revolution from within\" which stated that the Malay’s strength was not attributed to its race, culture and literature, but it is because of Islam. The research methodology used encompasses the literature review and analysis of information obtained from previous studies. The data findings revealed that there were indeed Hinduism and Buddhism in the Malay Peninsula particularly and the Malay Archipelago however the arrival of Islam has resulted in numerous changes in the traditional Malay society. The religion introduced a new system of law and values, thus resulting in a significant transformation in the Malay worldview. Perhaps the most noticeable change it caused was the emergence and development of the Malay language and literature. Islam's arrival has also led to other cultural shifts in the Malay Archipelago from various aspects, for instance the learning development that was mostly driven by the introduction of the religion's holy scripture known as Quran which was written in the Arabic language. Following Islamization, the Malay society learned recitation of the Quran to enable them to perform prayers and other religious rituals. Conversion to Islam involving all Malays in the Malay peninsula occurred without disrupting the harmony among the societies. In the political aspect, Islamization has brought about a new system of law and government.","PeriodicalId":36486,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Modern Education and Computer Science","volume":"8 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87609252","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

After the COVID-19 pandemic breakout in 2020, the issue of GE had become a serious concern. Further investigation by the Department of Statistics of Malaysia (DOSM), highlighted a concerning fact that the rate of graduates with skill-related underemployment is continuing to rise, reaching 33.9% in 2021 as compared to 31.2% in 2020. Graduates who experience skill-related underemployment are classified as having the wrong career or profession for them given their educational background. The rapid development of information and communication technology (ICT) may make occupation mismatch worse, and accounting graduates are not an exception. The accounting profession has been warned that it is also quite likely to become automated and digital in the near future. Accounting graduates with great academic qualifications may nevertheless struggle to find employment because employers may think that the standards for certificates and approvals are insufficient. Instead, they demand more basic advantages like teamwork abilities, soft skills, and communication abilities. Even before to graduating, it is important that students have a comprehensive understanding of the abilities that employers are looking for in candidates. To address this issue, the objectives of this conceptual paper is to summarize the existing research studies regarding the appropriate knowledge, technical and other skills that should be equipped by accounting graduates to ensure they will be employed in accounting related fields. This conceptual paper will provide the valuable insight to help teachers, lecturers, other academician, and education institutions in producing qualified accounting graduates.","PeriodicalId":36486,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Modern Education and Computer Science","volume":"64 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85027865","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
