Additionally, a method to select aliasing-free bandpass sampling frequency is derived. This method is suitable for subcarrier multiplexing (SCM) scenario with the presence of independent free-running optical local oscillator (LO) caused frequency offset. Analytical assessment and simulations are used to determine the ultimate performance with respect to ADC bits resolution and laser linewidth. In this approach, we realized DCS of OFDM subcarriers in single polarization (or channel), denoted as SP-DCS-OFDM. In this paper, we show that another approach is in dual polarizations, or DP-DCS-OFDM. We prove that both approaches can reduce the ICI due to phase noise, including laser phase noise and nonlinear phase noise. We discuss their improved phase noise tolerance in simulation. This MOSFET was capable of driving the TO phase shifter because of its large current capability. By tuning the gate voltage of the MOSFET, the switching state of MZS was successfully controlled. We will also present our work on the robust switch design with the intention to minimize the negative influences on switching performance due to so many MOSFET process steps. For this purpose, we had proposed a new 3dB directional coupler which was more robust to the gap variation than the conventional one. Since the linear and nonlinear phase noise is transferred with the data to the converted wavelength in AOWC subsystem, it is imperative to optimize the operation condition in AOWC to suppress noise to allow compatibility phase-noise sensitive high-order QAM formats. We investigate the orthogonality condition of this technology and discuss its electronic and optical domain implementation. It is shown that discrete-Fourier-transform based offset-QAM orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) can greatly relax the required length of guard interval for dispersion compensation compared to conventional OFDM, and reduce the implementation complexity compared to Nyquist FDM. Thanh to the stocks wave recycling loop, the SBS threshold is reduced and the SBS conversion efficiency is greatly improved, leading to increased number and enhanced flatness of the generated comb lines. An experiment is carried out. An OFC with a frequency spacing of 9.5 GHz is generated. The comb line number is increased from 6 to 9 by using the stocks wave recycling loop, and the flatness is also significantly improved.
