Towards upper layer, openness is also being considered, an open framework to dynamically adapt Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) has already been proposed. However, openness in queue management, which plays a key role in Optical Packet Switching and has direct impact on link congestion and latency, is seldom studied. This paper addresses the need for adaptively control Active Queue Management (AQM) in SDON and proposes an AQM adaptation framework called OpenAQM. We describe the framework and give proof of concept by NS2 simulation. The results show that major improvement in queuing delay and decreasing jitter is achieved under OpenAQM.","PeriodicalId":364683,"journal":{"name":"2014 13th International Conference on Optical Communications and Networks (ICOCN)","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126842932","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The OSSB signal, is generated by utilizing one low-bandwidth intensity modulator (IM) under frequency quadrupling modulation scheme with low-frequency local oscillator (LO) signal and one low-bandwidth IM biased at the null point in combination with fiber grating. With this up-converted SSB technique, a 26 GHz optical SSB radio frequency (RF) signal is generated by mixing a low frequency local oscillator (LO) signal (5.5GHz) and an intermediate frequency (IF) signal (4 GHz) carrying 80 Mbps quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK) vector signal. The signal is transmitted over 45 km standard single-mode fiber (SMF) successfully and shows negligible dispersion-induced carrier suppression effect. The received signal error vector magnitude (EVM) is 13% rms and 15.7 % rms before and after transmission over 45-km SMF.","PeriodicalId":364683,"journal":{"name":"2014 13th International Conference on Optical Communications and Networks (ICOCN)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130681102","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The MIMO VLC system using the popular mobile-phone camera as the optical receiver (Rx) to receive MIMO signal from n × n Red-Green-Blue (RGB) LED array is desirable. The key step of decoding the received RGB LED array signals is detecting the direction of received array signals. If the LED transmitter (Tx) is rotated, the signal may not be received correctly and cause an error in the received signal. In this work, we propose and demonstrate a novel hierarchical transmission scheme which can reduce the computation complexity of rotation detection in LED array VLC system. We use the n × n RGB LED array as the MIMO Tx. A novel two dimension Hadamard coding scheme is proposed and demonstrated. The detection correction rate is above 95% in the indoor usage distance. Experimental results confirm the feasibility of the proposed scheme.","PeriodicalId":364683,"journal":{"name":"2014 13th International Conference on Optical Communications and Networks (ICOCN)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126156228","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
