Photonic electret media can also help in concentration of solar energy and produce higher efficiency solar cells. This paper provides an overview of developments in advanced electroceramic materials showing photo-induced polarization. During 1970s and 1980s studies on photoelectret properties of organic materials and silicon based thin films were carried out. Recent investigations of photoelectret effect in nanomaterials and their proposed applications as high efficiency solar energy producers and in sensing environment pollutants are discussed.","PeriodicalId":364651,"journal":{"name":"2005 12th International Symposium on Electrets","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127108016","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Generally in diaphragm electret type, as the temperature characteristic of diaphragm stiffness and gain characteristic of FET is opposite. These properties make the temperature characteristics of the sensitivity compensated to be almost flat. On the other hand, as fixed electrode electret type using PET diaphragm which has the same temperature coefficient as FET, consequently it is difficult to compensate the temperature characteristics. It is insufficient to say that still it is robust to temperature. In order to improve the temperature characteristic, an evaluation method about the temperature dependence of acoustic characteristics of electret condenser microphone is proposed. This report refers to the temperature dependence of the dominant parameter which the sensitivity of the microphone is being determined, and reported about the design method of the microphone that a temperature characteristic is stable. Finally, the silicone of the inorganic material is applied to the diaphragm and source follower circuit is effective about the high temperature 80 degrees C in impedance converter The possibility of electret condenser microphone which has a flat temperature characteristic was proposed.","PeriodicalId":364651,"journal":{"name":"2005 12th International Symposium on Electrets","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121341988","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the electret properties of the two kinds of casting prepared P(VDF-HFP) copolymer films whose content of HFP is 4.7% and 5.9% respectively were discussed with the focus on the influences of mechanically thermal stretching process and of the content of HFP on electret properties of the said copolymer. Experimental results point out that the said copolymer electret film is a polar material, i.e. there exist both oriented dipoles and deposited space charges in the film after charging. The mechanically thermal stretching process not only increases the density of oriented dipoles and deposited space charges but also improves the stability of deposited space charges; however, the increase of HFP content in the copolymer has a negative impact on the density of oriented dipoles and deposited space charges. The measurement result by means of Laser Doppler Vibrometer shows the copolymer in which the HFP content is 4.7% has a notable converse coefficient as high as 130pm/V.","PeriodicalId":364651,"journal":{"name":"2005 12th International Symposium on Electrets","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128935664","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the as obtained LB films of these materials, several TSC peaks were observed below and above the melting point of bulk materials. TSC peaks observed below the melting point were attributed to the pre-melting and the melting of two-dimensional LB layers. Peaks of TSC above the melting point of bulk materials may be caused by the aluminum oxide films formed on the electrode and by the reorientation of residual water molecules in the layers. In the corona-charged LB layers, the same types of TSC curves were obtained. However, the current values were larger and TSC were clearer. The activation energy for pre-melting peaks was obtained to be 135 kJ/mol in average and that of water in the one layer stearyl alcohol film was 77 kJ/mol. It is concluded that the head polar groups have an effect on the TSC appearance and peak position.","PeriodicalId":364651,"journal":{"name":"2005 12th International Symposium on Electrets","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116924944","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is shown that polarization reversal is considerably slowed down, but is completed eventually even if the pulse width is reduced to 1/100 of the conventional switching time. Removing the dielectric contribution from the observed charge response extracts the time evolution of intrinsic ferroelectric component which clearly demonstrates the transition from the nucleation process to the growth process during polarization reversal.","PeriodicalId":364651,"journal":{"name":"2005 12th International Symposium on Electrets","volume":"124 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124194174","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
