We tried to discover the factors that affect micro-enterprises’ social innovations and sustainable development outcomes. The qualitative data analysis method is summarized using exploratory data analysis. This study reveals that the key drivers of social innovation for microbusiness clusters are shared value proposition and actor engagement, as per the multiple cases through interviews and observations. This study emphasizes that online-to-offline (O2O) e-commerce is an important part of service platforms, especially in the application of microbusiness clustering social innovation, because social innovation can impact their sustainable development by enhancing their ICT ability, which can also increase the application level of service platforms. The sustainable development of microbusiness is one type of sustainable transformation. There are four types of social innovations in microbusiness clusters: the Branding model, the customer interaction mode, the collaboration and profit sharing mode, and the sustainable development mode. However, compared to other sectors, construction companies have been relatively slow to adopt new technologies, while most companies in different sectors have already begun to adopt the latest technologies to renovate their way of doing business and improve their overall performance. Therefore, Construction 4.0, as the digital transformation of construction companies in the era of Industry 4.0, attracts the attention of both practitioners and researchers. This empirical study aims to uncover the complex relations among Construction 4.0, Business Model Innovation (BMI), and firm performance in a developing country context. We propose an original model of relations purporting that BMI mediates the positive effects of Construction 4.0 on firm performance, drawing mainly on the dynamic capabilities view. All statistical analyses were performed by using R statistical language. Data was gathered from 152 managers in the Turkish construction sector via the convenience sampling method. Descriptive statistics, validity, reliability, correlation, and PROCESS mediation analyses were used to test research hypotheses. The results show that both digital and physical layers of Construction 4.0 positively relate to firm performance and that BMI fully mediates this positive relation. Managerial and further research implications are forwarded.</div></div>","PeriodicalId":36449,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Innovation Studies","volume":"9 1","pages":"Pages 77-89"},"PeriodicalIF":4.2,"publicationDate":"2025-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"143169253","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In parallel, research and practice in innovation have evolved over the last years, surpassing the sphere of new product development to address recent domains such as service development, business model innovation, and sustainability-oriented innovation. Henceforth, there is a need for comprehensive research to update the joint knowledge about innovation development and risk management. Through a systematic literature review, this research analyses and consolidates the knowledge of 98 articles published between 1998 and 2022. This analysis contributes to the literature by i) highlighting specific risks associated with the innovation development process; ii) classifying the methods and tools used to manage risks in innovation development projects; and iii) drawing out the future research directions crossing these two domains. The added value of our systematic review is based on an extended time frame and a broader definition of innovation, considering not only product or technology-oriented innovations but also service and business models ones. In practical terms, the study consolidates and presents the main risks project managers have to manage and the best methods to manage them, the importance of human-based approaches, especially in radical innovations.</div></div>","PeriodicalId":36449,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Innovation Studies","volume":"9 1","pages":"Pages 1-15"},"PeriodicalIF":4.2,"publicationDate":"2025-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"143169248","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is especially imperative for developing countries due to the unfolding economic crisis and the urgency of achieving economic growth based on innovation. Global external threats and challenges have been put on the agenda, such as increasing the level of trust in society to form and maintain social harmony and solidarity. This study addresses certain issues regarding trust and solidarity as communicative values of modern society and their role in regional innovation development. In this study, we argue that there is a relationship between the level of trust of citizens and organizations in public and state institutions and the degree of solidarity in society. This study also highlights the overall relationships among the level of trust in public and state institutions, the economic activity of economic entities, and the positive responsibility of citizens and organizations. This study is beneficial due to the confirmed relationship between the trust of citizens and businesses in government and the level of solidarity in society, which are correlated with the innovative activity of a certain territory. The research results constitute the basis for building mechanisms to increase trust in public and state institutions in a region to enhance the solidarity of government, business, and society. The conclusions are expected to be beneficial for promoting practical activities of state authorities empowered by the problems of regional innovation and socio-economic development problems.</div></div>","PeriodicalId":36449,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Innovation Studies","volume":"9 1","pages":"Pages 60-76"},"PeriodicalIF":4.2,"publicationDate":"2025-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"143169252","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study uses the strategy tripod view theory to develop a novel theoretical model to explain how perceived political instability and informal competition impact the relationship between foreign technologies and product innovation. Our empirical model, which is based on survey and national-level data from thousands of firms across several emerging markets, shows that (i) low levels of perceived political instability and increased foreign technologies marginally increase the chances of introducing new products or services. (ii) Low levels of informal competition and high levels of foreign technologies marginally increase product innovation. The current paper evaluates the mechanism through which green human resource management affects green organizational commitment, green innovation practices and low-carbon behaviour among 610 employees in South Africa. The study further evaluates the mediation connection among the variables and the moderating influence of green transformational leadership through social cognitive theory. The stratified sampling approach was applied in selecting the respondents, and the structural equation model was applied to test the hypotheses. The empirical outcome of this research is as follows: (1) GHRM has a positive and substantial effect on green organizational commitment, green innovation practices and low-carbon behaviour. (2) The findings also revealed that green organizational commitment and green innovation practices affect low-carbon behaviour among staff. (3) The results suggest that green organizational commitment and green innovation practices have a substantial mediation influence on the connection between green human resource management and low-carbon behaviour. (4) Last, green transformational leadership discovered a positive moderating effect on the link between green human resource management and low-carbon behaviour.
