Digital banking is a relatively emerging research context that helps to complement and clarify marketing structures more clearly when combined with different factors to reflect convenience, usefulness, and distinct digital experiences for customers, thereby enhancing brand value for banks. Collecting data from 400 customers of banks in Vietnam is done through an online survey to ensure safety during the epidemic season. Data are analyzed according to the procedure from Cronbach's Alpha test, EFA to CFA, and tested by the SEM model. The results show that the perceived security factor has the most substantial influence on customers' behavioral intentions, thereby driving their actual behavior. Additionally, the usefulness, simplicity, and social influence of behavioral intentions for digital banking services all stimulate customer behavior. In the digital environment, this study suggests that following social phenomena and ensuring customer information security and transactions are extremely important. The results lead to shaping a culture-technology acceptance model based on TAM. That provides important insights and implications for the theoretical underpinnings of security perception, social influence, and usage behavior, such as how they are formed, roles, and relationships interrelationships between them in the digital environment.","PeriodicalId":36430,"journal":{"name":"Edelweiss Applied Science and Technology","volume":"16 11","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139214324","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research aimed to obtain an accurate and comprehensive picture of teacher independence and creativity in developing evaluations of mathematics learning based on understanding the concept of Understanding by Design (UbD). It used mixed methods by design, which combined quantitative and qualitative approaches. The population was all mathematics teachers in inclusive schools in the provinces of Bali, Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB), and Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT). The sample selection used the cluster random sampling technique, with a total sample of 465 math teachers. Furthermore, the data were collected using a questionnaire. The results of the group mean difference test on teacher independence in developing evaluations of learning mathematics in inclusive schools were obtained at 11500.249, and on teacher creativity in developing learning mathematics evaluations in inclusive schools, they were obtained at 13129.593. It showed that understanding the concept of Understanding by Design (UbD) influences teacher independence and creativity in developing evaluations of learning mathematics in inclusive schools. Increasing the independence and creativity of teachers in the provinces of Bali, NTB, and NTT to develop Understanding by Design (UbD)-based learning evaluations can be done by preparing guidelines for developing Understanding by Design (UbD)-based learning evaluations that can be utilized by teachers studying independently.","PeriodicalId":36430,"journal":{"name":"Edelweiss Applied Science and Technology","volume":"61 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139256330","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is generally believed that when economies are liberalized, the SUSWG increases, especially in poor economies. Our study uses a two-step estimation methodology. We used two measures for SUSWG at sectoral and regional levels. We employed Oaxaca-Blinder decomposition for residual wage-gap, and log-wage-gap. For empirical (i.e., sectoral and regional) analysis, we employed Fixed effects (FE), Random effects (RE) and FE with Driscoll-Kraay Standard Errors (DKSEs), feasible generalized-least-squares (FGLS), and Panel-corrected Standard Errors (PCSE). We used sectoral panel data for sectoral analysis and provincial panel data for regional analysis, using the data from 1990 to 2005. Our study finds that protection rates and SUSWG are associated in Pakistan. Trade liberalization increases the SUSWG. The sectoral and regional analysis reveal similar findings on the impact of liberalization on SUSWG. Moreover, our results are robust and insensitive to various controls, measurement approaches (i.e., the log wage gap and the residual wage gap), and econometric techniques. We also find that lagged tariffs increase the SUSWG. Our findings will provide guidelines for policymakers to make future policies regarding trade liberalization and SUSWG in Pakistan.","PeriodicalId":36430,"journal":{"name":"Edelweiss Applied Science and Technology","volume":"26 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139262694","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The considered supply chain includes the levels of suppliers, production centers, and distribution, which are taken into account in the decisions of the location of capacity facilities, optimal allocation of flow, and vehicle routing at the same time. Due to the indeterminacy of the problem environment, the two-stage probabilistic programming method has been used to control the model, and the new WOGA algorithm has been used to solve the problem. The presented algorithm is a combination of the Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA) and Genetic Algorithm (GA) algorithms, which are used to minimize the costs of the entire designed network. The results obtained from the model analysis show that WOGA has a high efficiency in solving the developed mathematical model compared to GA and WOA. There was no significant difference between the averages of the objective function and the computational time between different solution methods. Since the perishability of the drug in transportation was considered in this article, it was observed that the cost of the entire network reaches its highest level if the period of perishability is 1. Because the production and distribution centers cannot have inventory in their warehouses and must meet the demand of pharmacies in every period.","PeriodicalId":36430,"journal":{"name":"Edelweiss Applied Science and Technology","volume":"5 7","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139263377","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main benefit of coil tubing in drilling operations over wireline jobs is the ability to pump chemicals through the coil and the ability to push it into the hole rather than relying on gravity. Inappropriate selection of the drilling mud is one of the contributing factors to hole problems. Different experiments were conducted to determine the mud rheology of multiple mud samples. Certain parameters, like the critical velocity, are calculated using a numerical approach for the coiled tubing applications. In addition, it is crucial to determine the pump pressure required to maintain a specific flow rate. It is noted that drilling operations become more efficient at lower plastic viscosities; however, plastic viscosity is reduced through dilution; hence, the rate of penetration is improved. Moreover, a higher yield point is capable of transporting the cuttings more effectively than a lower yield point. The critical velocity indicated the boundaries between the laminar and turbulent flow regimes. As the mud flow rate inside the tubing increased, the velocity increased, causing the shear stress at the tubing wall to increase.","PeriodicalId":36430,"journal":{"name":"Edelweiss Applied Science and Technology","volume":"27 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139274567","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The health status of an economy can be effectively assessed through its significant indicators. In situations where mortality rates are elevated, there is a corresponding increase in the fertility rate as parents seek to compensate for the higher likelihood of child mortality. This leads to a decrease in the allocation of resources per child in terms of education and healthcare, inadvertently hindering the development of human capital and perpetuating the cycle of poverty and illness. National GDP is lowered by high death rates. This study estimates the roles of dependency ratio and economic growth on child mortality using cross-country data for SAARC countries. The study applies panel data techniques (Fixed Effect Model, Random Effect Model, Generalized Least Square Regression, and Panel Corrected Standard Error regression). Based on the Hausman Specification Test, the preferred model is Random effect model. In the case of heteroscedasticity, the better choice is GLS regression, especially when T is greater than cross-sections N. However, the study also estimates panel-corrected standard error regression. The findings reveal that there is a positive relationship between child mortality and the dependency ratio and a negative one between child mortality and economic growth. The study additionally evaluates the cumulative impacts of both variables on it. The findings indicate that the impact of both variables remains consistent. The policy implications are that economic growth-maximizing and dependency ratio-minimizing policies should be adopted. The study contributes to the existing literature by finding the role of dependency ratio in child mortality, at least with respect to SAARC countries.","PeriodicalId":36430,"journal":{"name":"Edelweiss Applied Science and Technology","volume":"371 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139360797","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Specifically, this study examines the effect of each of the ESG pillars, namely, environmental, social, and government disclosure, on firm performance. A content analysis was utilised in this study using a fixed effects model over a 6-year period from 2015 to 2020. This study shows that among the three ESG pillars, government disclosure has a significant positive relationship with firm performance as measured by return on assets. On the other hand, environmental and social factors do not significantly influence the performance of the firms listed in the FTSE, Bursa Malaysia Top 100 Index in Malaysia. The findings of this study shed light on the relationship between each ESG pillar and firm performance in the context of Malaysia as an emerging market and from a developing country perspective. Furthermore, this study makes a valuable contribution by presenting empirical data that supports the notion that ESG recommendations facilitate the entry of enterprises into new markets and the expansion of their presence in current markets. Furthermore, it offers valuable insights into the primary determinants that impact the success of an organisation. This helps companies direct more attention towards this particular component and formulate business plans that empower them to optimise the use of ESG data reporting.","PeriodicalId":36430,"journal":{"name":"Edelweiss Applied Science and Technology","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135859347","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The secondary objective was to assess the impact of race and comorbidities on readmission rates and the extent to which patients were escalated to another care provider.\u0000Methods: Electronic medical records were reviewed for COVID-19 patients discharged from 3 NYMA hospitals in March 2020. Follow up data regarding medical status, ability to perform activities of daily living and functional status was also obtained from patients via phone call. The Chi-square, Fishers exact test and t-tests were used to analyze the data.\u0000Results: 349 patients were included in the analysis. The hospital readmission rate was 10.6% (58.8% for pulmonary reasons) and did not differ by race. 74.3% of readmissions were <14 days after release. The post-discharge mortality rate was 2.6%. Hypertension was the most common comorbidity (43%). There was a statistically significant association between mortality and number of comorbidities (p=<0.0001). 82% of patients were contacted by phone. 66.6% of patients returned to pre-COVID baseline function in ≥1 month. As a result of information obtained on the follow up phone call, 4.2% of patients required “escalation” to another provider.\u0000Conclusion: Discharging COVID-19 patients without prearranged follow up was associated with high readmission and mortality rates. While the majority of patients recovered, prolonged weakness, lengthy recovery, and the need for additional medical intervention was noted. Further work to assess the effectiveness COVID-19 post-discharge programs is warranted.","PeriodicalId":36430,"journal":{"name":"Edelweiss Applied Science and Technology","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43329407","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
