Any disruptions in this process can have serious and far-reaching consequences, not only in terms of the credibility and integrity of the author themselves, but – most importantly – in terms of the confidence in their achievements. Attempts to distort the review process have so far occurred most often in medical and exact sciences. The case of „The Critique of Law” discussed herein shows that attempts at scientific fraud affect also legal sciences. Her death brings up the question of what the future holds for the monarchy. The paper explores the monarch’s role – both at home and abroad – as head of state. It also analyses how the new king will have to adapt to socio-political and demographic changes the United Kingdom has been going through. Britain is now recovering from Brexit and the Covid-19 pandemic and dealing with the ongoing economic crisis and growing calls for Scottish independence and the change of status of Northern Ireland. The background of the considerations are the results of empirical research on communication in the courtroom, which, among other things, show that judges are significantly active in giving instructions. Drawing on research conducted within the “plain language” movement, the author points out those elements of instructions that increase their communicativeness and those that decrease it. Among those, there is a question of material (content-dependent) criteria of legal validity, namely whether legal norms may actually have any content and remain binding elements of the law. It becomes palpable due to the legislative initiatives to decriminalize some violations of law committed by governmental officials. Such regulation deserves discussion in the light of theoretical conceptions of the claim to correctness (justice, righteousness) as a necessary feature of each act of enacting or applying the law. Munnich","doi":"10.7206/kp.2080-1084.542","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.7206/kp.2080-1084.542","url":null,"abstract":"This article provides only a small contribution to the inevitable scholarly discussion on whether excluding the primacy of the literal rule in favour of the priority of a pro-EU teleological interpretation in the judicial and administrative applications of Polish tax law is really reasonable. Firstly, this article sets out to discuss the stages of the transposition of the concept of a household from EU legislation into the provisions of the Excise Duty Act. Secondly, it presents the evolution in the lines of the interpretation of this term as used by tax authorities and national courts. Dąbrowski","doi":"10.7206/kp.2080-1084.537","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.7206/kp.2080-1084.537","url":null,"abstract":"The purpose of the article, which has not been analysed so far, is the assessment of the correct implementation of Article 4 of Directive 2008/52/EC in the Polish legal system. The starting point for the considerations made herein has been the determination of the required minimum harmonisation level and the indication of results which are binding for the state authorities. At a further stage, an analysis has been made of applicable Polish regulations on preliminary and continuing training for mediators and of actions undertaken to develop ethical and deontological codes and to make them commonly observed by mediators in the context of the results indicated in Article 4 of Directive 2008/52/EC.
