It employed a case study approach (as a privatization) wherein a qualitative data collection was conducted. It used interviews to identify key issues from the perspective of those employed in the case study organization as well as the documentary methods. With special reference to Thailand, the case of the privatization of the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) was examined as a transformational change. The findings of the research will provide a comprehensive insight into the concept of privatization in a state-owned enterprise (SOE) in the context of internal marketing. As such the results cannot be generalized to other organizational environments because they have different complexity systems. On the other hand, the research should provide significant insights into how knowledge management in the direction of internal communication can facilitate a privatization process in a state-owned enterprise in Thailand. It is anticipated that it will present these notions in positive light, thus encouraging more widespread application to assure successful outcomes in similar projects.","PeriodicalId":363851,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Economics, Business and Management Research","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121104451","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, the more motivated employees (respectively software developers) are, the results obtained by them are higher, because the achievement of the individual objectives is closely related to the achievement of the organization's objectives. Therefore, this paper aims to study the link between motivating software developers and organizational performance for a multinational company in Romania using Charles Handy’s theory of motivation. Starting from the 4 “E” factors (energy, excitement, effort and expenditure), a quantitative research was carried out by applying a questionnaire among 32 software developers. The questionnaire was made up of Likert-scale questions, so that each software developer could choose the option that seemed most appropriate. The results revealed that there is a strong link between the four motivational factors (e factors) and organizational performance within software developers. Also, for the study of the concepts most often encountered together with motivation, software developers and performance, bibliometric research was carried out.","PeriodicalId":363851,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Economics, Business and Management Research","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125946841","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One consequence of the imposition of these fixed prices is a chronic shortage of those staff who provide direct supports and services to people who have disabilities. Because agencies have no control over the prices they can charge for the provision of supports and services, they are unable to raise staff wages sufficiently to create an equilibrium between supply of and demand for staff. Instead, equilibrium must be sought by cost reduction measures. Strategies to reduce costs are essential to the continuation of this service model as substantial increases in governmental funding are unlikely. Reference based pricing for employee health insurance is described and proposed as a cost reduction strategy within the intellectual and developmental disability community. An example of the adoption of this strategy within the intellectual disability field is provided.","PeriodicalId":363851,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Economics, Business and Management Research","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125317320","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main focus of this study is to determine the impact of social networking sites on the academic performance of youth. A sample of 309 youth was selected, and the primary data was collected through the questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS. The results were exciting; the results show that SNS is affecting the student’s academic performance. The study further confirmed that most respondents visit the SNS daily for an average of half an hour to more than 3 hours. The study further reveals that the number of active friends increases the youths’ academic performance. Since the study confirmed that the usage had affected children's academic performance, there is an urgent need for counseling and advice to the youths regarding the dangers of addiction to SNS the school authorities and parents. The other factor is that students' time on SNS affects their academic performance, and they cannot finish the portion within the assigned time. Based on these findings, it can be used to propose the appropriate methods for students to manage and balance their time without affecting their academic performance.","PeriodicalId":363851,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Economics, Business and Management Research","volume":"87 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115022833","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, credit uptake by youth is believed to be depended on and enhanced by the possession of business and entrepreneurial skills which are critical components of financial literacy. The biggest challenge to most youth is financial illiteracy which makes them lack the ability to integrate what they know with what they can do to earn a living. This study sought to examine how financial literacy influences credit uptake by youth enterprises in Machakos Town, Kenya. Specifically, the study focused on establishing the influence of bookkeeping skills, budgeting skills, debt management skills, and financial knowledge on credit uptake by youth entrepreneurs in Machakos Town, Kenya. The study employed a descriptive research design. From a target population of 1704 youth enterprises, a sample of 314 were selected randomly to participate as respondents. A structured questionnaire was used to collect data. Simple and Multiple regressions were used to test hypotheses. The regression results revealed an R2 of 0.754. This meant that holding other variables constant, financial literacy variables account for 75.4% of the variability in credit uptake by the sampled youth entrepreneurs. Generally, all the measures of financial literacy had a positive significant influence on the dependent variable. Specifically, the coefficients of bookkeeping skills, budgeting skills, debt management skills, and financial knowledge all had a p = 0.000. The findings of this study provide a guide on the policy that targets financial literacy as a critical component in enhancing self-employment by youth in Kenya.","PeriodicalId":363851,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Economics, Business and Management Research","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122313886","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Achieving the objective necessarily involves answering the following questions: what is the staff recruitment process in the decentralized communities of the District of Bamako? Does the personnel of the decentralized communities of the District of Bamako allow to improve their public management? It is for us, to choose the quantitative method to validate or invalidate the hypotheses. We opted for surveys as the data collection strategy. For this quantitative research, the selection of our sample is made by the non-probabilistic method and the reasoned choice technique. It should be noted that our sample is made up of seven local authorities in the District of Bamako. Out of a sample of forty-nine managers questioned, thirty-two of them answered the questionnaire. The data were subjected to descriptive bivariate analysis accompanied by chi-square tests. The main results thus obtained show that the staff recruitment process for the decentralized communities of the District of Bamako is inadequate and that it is the cause of the poor quality of the staff. Our results also indicate that the management of personnel in the decentralized communities of the District of Bamako does not promote the improvement of local management to the extent desired.","PeriodicalId":363851,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Economics, Business and Management Research","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122690487","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, for each stock, we use the previous seven years of data in order to compute over 36 firm-specific factors. Second, we perform features selection using elastic net regularization. Finally, we train a deep neural network in order to learn portfolio weights and hold this portfolio until the end of the month T. Compared with momentum, long-term reversal, and short-term reversal strategies, our approach demonstrates a superior performance in terms of the monthly rate of return (2% versus 1.22% for long-term reversal, 1.15% for momentum, and only 0.68% for short-term reversal), Sharpe ratio (21.67% versus 19.31% for momentum, 15.51% for long-term reversal, and 8.69% for short-term reversal), and the monthly risk-adjusted return (1.85% versus 0.74% for momentum, 0.72% for long-term reversal, and 0.31% for shortterm reversal).
