Hand drilling is commonly applied for making small diameter holes, especially in hard-to-reach places. In the case of manual drilling, an important parameter is drilling resistance, especially torque. Drilling tools are subject to wear, which has a negative impact on the process of drilling, including resistance and efficiency. A blunt tool lowers the drilling speed and puts more strain on the operator. The article presents the results of laboratory tests of selected parameters of the drilling process carried out with a hydraulic rotary drill. The tests were performed with the use of new drill bits as well as drills characterized by a various degree of wear. The tests were carried out for popular, frequently applied rotary drilling tools, on a unique laboratory stand that enabled setting the feed force and measuring the torque, rotational speed, drilling path, drilling speed as well as the in and out pressure of the drill. A number of characteristics were determined as a function of time and depth of the drilled hole. It was found that tool blunting affects the drilling process in various ways, whereas the intensity of this influence is determined by the type of blunting. The test results can provide a basis for developing a criterion for replacing a drill bit with a new one.","PeriodicalId":36269,"journal":{"name":"Production Engineering Archives","volume":"29 1","pages":"304 - 310"},"PeriodicalIF":2.3,"publicationDate":"2023-08-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45662164","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the main elements of the production of the reinforced concrete industry is beams. The analysis of the experimental tests showed that the bearing capacity of reinforced concrete beams with damaged tensile main reinforcement decreases according to control undamaged samples due to the reduction of the reinforcement cross-section. However, the bearing capacity of reinforced concrete beams with tensile main reinforcement Ø20А500C, damaged to the cross-section area equal the rebar Ø16mm is more on 3.7… 24.0% than the bearing capacity of reinforced concrete beams with undamaged Ø16mm rebar. This is due to the non-uniform material properties of used thermally strengthened reinforcement A500C. When during testing the tensile main reinforcement is damaged by drilling a hole, the most damages occur in the core with lower physical and mechanical characteristics. In contrast, the outer thermally strengthened layer with bigger physical and mechanical characteristics is damaged to a lesser extent. The analysis of the obtained results shows that during design of reinforced concrete beams with damaged, it is necessary to consider using thermally strengthened non-uniform steel A500C as tensile main reinforcement.","PeriodicalId":36269,"journal":{"name":"Production Engineering Archives","volume":"29 1","pages":"298 - 303"},"PeriodicalIF":2.3,"publicationDate":"2023-08-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43841861","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed systemological model of information support for making managerial decisions regarding the technical operation of machines. The given analogy between the factors of technical influence and the resources required for this is substantiated. These are: “action” - “human resource”; “means” - “material resource”; “environment” - “information resource”. The priority of the information resource in ensuring the efficiency of the technical operation of the machines is determined by expert evaluation methods. The proposed systemological model consists of the structuring and systematization of information resources of dispatch reports and the procedure for performing further analytical procedures performed by information and analytical maintenance of enterprises with the help of software to obtain relevant information. Such continuous monitoring of equipment operation processes provides engineers with the necessary data for: the analysis and selection of an effective model of technical operation of the equipment; to develop alternative management decisions and make the optimal one; development of individual models and maintenance strategies with their adjustment and adaptation to real operating conditions. Also, this model provides professionals with a tool for comprehensive evaluation of the efficiency of the enterprise’s production organization, the dynamics of its development, and the consequences of management decisions in different periods. It makes it possible to make informed decisions regarding the improvement of the management system and the subsequent formation of an effective strategy for the technical operation of machines.","PeriodicalId":36269,"journal":{"name":"Production Engineering Archives","volume":"29 1","pages":"337 - 347"},"PeriodicalIF":2.3,"publicationDate":"2023-08-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48686487","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to maintain the continuity and efficiency of this process, it is necessary to take measures to reduce this hazard. The paper addresses this issue by presenting a developed methodology for using model studies and numerical simulations to support the process of monitoring methane hazards. Its basis is the developed model of the region of underground mining exploitation along with the ventilation phenomena occurring in it. To develop it, the ANSYS Fluent program was used, based on the finite volume method classified as computational fluid mechanics. The model reflects both the geometries and physical and chemical phenomena occurring in the studied area, as well as the auxiliary ventilation equipment used during operation. The research was conducted for two variants of methane emissions from goaf zones, the first of which concerned the actual state of the mining area, and the second of which concerned increased methane emissions from these goaf zones. The purpose of the study was to determine the distribution of methane concentrations in the most dangerous part of the studied area, which is the intersection of the longwall and the tailgate, as well as the distribution of ventilation air flow velocities affecting them. The studies for both variants made it possible to determine places particularly exposed to the occurrence of dangerous concentrations of methane in this region. The methodology developed represent a new approach to studying the impact of methane emissions from goaf zones into mine workings.","PeriodicalId":36269,"journal":{"name":"Production Engineering Archives","volume":" ","pages":"319 - 327"},"PeriodicalIF":2.3,"publicationDate":"2023-08-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48790541","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research uses data obtained from 30 randomly selected Polish enterprises to explore the levels of entrepreneurial networks and their information effects (as performance indicator). The research limitations are the following: the research is limited exclusively to Polish randomly selected entities, and the results cannot be generalized. The originality/value of this paper consists in the fact that this study constitutes both the contribution to the development of the discipline of management and practical guidelines for managers-entrepreneurs since it should be pinpointed that the recognition of the efficiency of gathering information from social networks can be the basis for the conscious creation of the effectiveness of acquiring information from social networks, and thus the conscious use of social networks in economic activity. The novelty of the results presented consists in filling the gap while conducting the research taking into account the assessment of entrepreneurial networks performance using DEA method.","PeriodicalId":36269,"journal":{"name":"Production Engineering Archives","volume":"29 1","pages":"271 - 278"},"PeriodicalIF":2.3,"publicationDate":"2023-08-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46921173","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These initiatives have a significant impact on the employees in production organizations, especially in automotive sector. The main aim of the presented study is to expertly assess the importance of general competencies for transforming job positions in the automotive industry in Slovakia. The starting point of the presented study were the results of research focused on emerging positions in the automotive industry and the competencies required by employers in Slovakia. Based on the expert assessment, the hierarchical structure of the solved problem was created and the importance of competencies for analysed job positions was assessed by applying the Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP) method. The results pointed to the growing importance of non-technical competencies. Analyses have shown that actually the most important work competencies are: basic literacy, professional knowledge, problem solving, digital skills and analytical thinking. The development of the necessary competencies will be important both, from the point of view of employers, but also of employees working in professions that are in decline, become endangered and need to be transformed into the required professions.","PeriodicalId":36269,"journal":{"name":"Production Engineering Archives","volume":"29 1","pages":"254 - 262"},"PeriodicalIF":2.3,"publicationDate":"2023-08-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44137710","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The process take place in an inert gas (helium) without using catalyst. Nano CuO was deposited on a glass slide, using helium as carrier gas heated to 100, 200, 300, and 400 °C, respectively on heated glass substrates at 300°C. The effect of structural and electrical properties was examined at each temperature for each film. AFM images show that the CuO thin film have different diameters ranging from 80 to 600 nm, and low surface roughness about 20.9 nm. The measured value of copper oxide resistivity was found to be decrease very much with the increasing temperature. All the result showed that copper oxide is suitable material for photovoltaic applications. This research is part of a larger work for the solar cells industry. Therefore, the aim of this research is to study the electrical properties of solar cells in the primary stages of manufacturing from available materials at low costs.","PeriodicalId":36269,"journal":{"name":"Production Engineering Archives","volume":"29 1","pages":"225 - 230"},"PeriodicalIF":2.3,"publicationDate":"2023-04-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43448584","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

PMS can be defined as a group of indicators in an information system. There are several types of PMS, however, the relationship between indicators in a PMS is still an issue that needs to be explored, as the KPIs in a production system are not independent and may have an intrinsic relationship. The purpose of this paper is to present a multilevel structure and its intrinsic structural relation for managing and analysing KPIs for a value stream production system. This hierarchical structure has different KPI levels such as Improvement KPIs, Monitoring KPIs, and Results KPIs or KPR (Key Performance Results), intrinsically related from the strategic levels to the operational levels. This provides a useful tool for the management of production systems, being used to analyse, and support the organization's continuous improvement processes.","PeriodicalId":36269,"journal":{"name":"Production Engineering Archives","volume":"29 1","pages":"175 - 185"},"PeriodicalIF":2.3,"publicationDate":"2023-04-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46192041","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, cargo movements in Japan have undergone significant changes. This study analyses cargo movements in Japan by showing correlation coefficients to indicate the extent to which each industry was affected by the spread of the new coronavirus to infected persons. The heightened awareness of the pandemic caused by the state of emergency led to the closure of many stores and a decline in outbound shipments. Although the volume of incoming shipments increased, the volume of outgoing shipments did not. As a result, warehouse vacancy rates declined. Therefore, the study revealed that distribution centers in Japan are becoming more self-sufficient, and cloud-based logistics information systems are becoming more widely used.","PeriodicalId":36269,"journal":{"name":"Production Engineering Archives","volume":"29 1","pages":"147 - 154"},"PeriodicalIF":2.3,"publicationDate":"2023-04-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48524717","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are several articles that investigated AV market share with a variety of methods, however, they show a huge variation depending on the market specifications. The aim of this research is to calculate private AV adoption rates over time depending on the Hungarian automobile market characteristics. The research empirically estimates, using the Gompertz function, the projected growth rates of private autonomous passenger vehicles in Hungary using historical patterns of human-driven vehicle ownership data on the basis of projected per capita GDP.The study's findings suggest that, in an optimistic and moderate scenario, the Hungarian car market is projected to become saturated due to AVs by 2067 and 2076, respectively. However, a pessimistic estimation indicates that saturation is unlikely to occur before 2100. This study’s contribution to the literature is through a mathematical approach that predicts AVs market penetration rate and saturation year, in which the assumptions and the used parameters of the model can be modified depending on different case studies, or they can be updated due to the advancement in technology and improvement in knowledge of the studied market.","PeriodicalId":36269,"journal":{"name":"Production Engineering Archives","volume":"29 1","pages":"155 - 161"},"PeriodicalIF":2.3,"publicationDate":"2023-04-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48708787","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
