Ha erre összepontosítunk, akkor egyúttal „szakítunk a történelem szokásos normatív szemléletével és megítélésével. Ennek a szemléletváltásnak a megerősítéséül szolgálhat az is, hogy a temporalitás, a történetiség hatalmi kezelése és értelmezése olykor szintúgy ellentmond a »fejlődés«, a modernizációnak megfeleltetett lineáris időbeliség rigorózus követelményének.” (Gyáni Gábor) Jelen dolgozat azonban egyet visszább lép, és az időbeliség e szokásos szemléletének kialakulását és módosulásait követi nyomon. Feltételezése szerint az időbeli folyamatok vizuális leképezéseinek történeti-kritikai vizsgálata új szempontból képes a modernitás időről, történelemről és történetekről alkotott elképzeléseit leírni. Ennek érdekében az idősoros grafikonok kultúrtörténetének felvázolására tesz kísérletet. A vállalkozás tétjét növeli, hogy napjaink adattudományi és digitális bölcsészeti munkáiban szintén ezek a grafikonok tekinthetők a legelterjedtebbnek, nagy hatást gyakorolva az időben zajló változások elgondolására. Miközben az eszmetörténet helyett magukból a leképezésekből kiindulva – a médiatörténet „valóságossága” mellett – lehetőség nyílik hagyományosan külön kezelt diskurzusok közötti kapcsolatok felismerésére is.","PeriodicalId":36251,"journal":{"name":"Literatura","volume":"49 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138955548","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This article offers a re-reading of Kultura on a global scale, using the tools of georeferencing and geoanalysis to demonstrate its widest spheres of dissemination among the diaspora. This approach, sometimes labeled “distant reading” is an attempt to illuminate new aspects of literary form and culture than can only be seen through a macro lens, including large-scale changes over space and time. This study of Kultura reveals new points of connection which were hidden by assumptions we have carried with us when reading it as a ‘dissident’ journal or a purely ‘émigré’ phenomenon. By illustrating a global framework for the journal’s reception, this chapter can begin to bridge the cartographic chasm caused by isolationist readings of Cold War texts.","PeriodicalId":36251,"journal":{"name":"Literatura","volume":"81 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139170994","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Her poetry was strongly influenced by the terrifying experiences of the concentration camps, as well as by intellectual currents linked to the Jewish tradition (the Kabbalah and philosophical theories of dialogue) and avant-garde movements, above all surrealist art and literature. As with the Surrealists, an interest in “archaic” cultures and the influence of the “archaic imagination” can also be observed in Mándy’s poems. At the centre of Stefánia Mándy’s work in art history was the oeuvre of Lajos Vajda, a posthumous member of the European School, who died in 1941; Mándy integrated the inspiration and motifs of Vajda’s painting into her own poetic language and the symbolic world of her poems. The motifs of the Jewish tradition, the memory of the Shoah, and the surrealist influences together created a remarkable synergy between the European School’s programme and aspirations and Mándy’s poetry.","PeriodicalId":36251,"journal":{"name":"Literatura","volume":"158 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139320961","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
