They proposed different test scenarios for the circuit board based on the signature analysis. The single-shot (SS) circuit is important element on the circuit board level in the industrial applications. In this paper, a new testing design is presented to functionally test the SS circuit on the circuit board. It can test the SS circuit by measuring the time duration based on the edge detecting of the stimulated pulse. This time duration is considered the signature of its proper functionality. Two testing designs are proposed. Different pulse durations with different rising and falling time are applied to the proposed testing design. The experimental results illustrate the efficiency of the presented testing design in both the millisecond range and the microsecond range.","PeriodicalId":362288,"journal":{"name":"2016 Fourth International Japan-Egypt Conference on Electronics, Communications and Computers (JEC-ECC)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134641972","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In time-based ADCs, the input voltage is first converted into a pulse in time by using a Voltage-to-Time Converter (VTC) circuit, and then the pulse is converted to a digital output by using a Time-to-Digital Converter (TDC) circuit. In this paper, a TADC is proposed with a VTC that achieves high linearity and large dynamic input range and a TDC that achieves a time resolution of 3.9 ps. A 200MS/S, 8-bit TADC with effective number of bits (ENOB) equals 7.6 bits is proposed.","PeriodicalId":362288,"journal":{"name":"2016 Fourth International Japan-Egypt Conference on Electronics, Communications and Computers (JEC-ECC)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125867870","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this work a dynamically adopted Proportional Fair (PF) scheduling strategy for capacity enhancement of LTE system is proposed. Performance comparison with the conventional PF downlink scheduler and the Best-Channel Quality Indicator (Best-CQI) scheduling algorithm is presented. The results of the simulation demonstrate that the introduced scheduling strategy enhances the overall system capacity and also provides a high level of fairness among all active Users Equipment (UEs). The proposed algorithm improves the average cell throughput by more than 31 %, with a slight degradation in the fairness level with respect to the conventional PF scheduling strategy.","PeriodicalId":362288,"journal":{"name":"2016 Fourth International Japan-Egypt Conference on Electronics, Communications and Computers (JEC-ECC)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128757910","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recently, protection of digital audio signals has taken a great attention from the researchers. This paper proposed a new audio watermarking scheme based on Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT), Singular Value Decomposition (SVD), and Quantization Index Modulation (QIM) with synchronization code embedded within double encrypted watermark images or logos into stereo audio signal. In the algorithm, an original audio signal is split into blocks and each block is decomposed into two levels discrete wavelet transform, and then the approximate low frequency sub-band coefficients are decomposed by the SVD transform, obtaining a diagonal matrix. The prepared watermarking and synchronization code bit stream is embedded into the diagonal matrix using Quantization Index Modulation (QIM). After that, we apply ISVD and IDWT to obtain the watermarked audio signal. The watermark can be blindly extracted without knowledge of the original audio signal. Experimental results show that the transparency and imperceptibility of the proposed algorithm is satisfactory, and robustness is strong against popular audio signal processing attacks. High watermark payload is achieved and performance analysis is presented.","PeriodicalId":362288,"journal":{"name":"2016 Fourth International Japan-Egypt Conference on Electronics, Communications and Computers (JEC-ECC)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126873240","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Blind equalizers may be implemented with linear prediction error filters (LPEF) but the delay (D) cannot be controlled with one-step predictors to minimize the mean square error (MSE). Consequently, multi-step prediction error filters (MSPEF) has been suggested as a solution to the problem. But the slowness of the convergence process will remain a problem, so we propose a new technique to fast the convergence rate. In this paper, a blind equalizer composed of a modified algorithm (MA) cascaded with MSPEF is proposed (MAMSPEF). Simulation results show comparable improvements of the proposed equalizer relative to the LPEF or the MSPEF equalizers and compared also with CMAMSPEF for symmetric constellation QAM.","PeriodicalId":362288,"journal":{"name":"2016 Fourth International Japan-Egypt Conference on Electronics, Communications and Computers (JEC-ECC)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115838026","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents a practical generator of heart sounds and murmurs for educational and research purposes. The developed generator produces graphical representations of normal and two diseased heart sounds; namely aortic stenosis and mitral insufficient. Three datasets of real heart sounds have been preprocessed using discrete wavelet transform, in order to reduce the noise and decompose these cardiac signals to the third approximated level based on Daubechies four-coefficient wavelet. For the design and implementation of the heart sounds generator, the ATmega 2560 microcontroller was used to produce the output of all preprocessed datasets. The developed embedded generator showed successfully different cases of the heart sounds and murmurs, allowing to be used further for evaluating new automatic classification methods of cardiac valve abnormalities.","PeriodicalId":362288,"journal":{"name":"2016 Fourth International Japan-Egypt Conference on Electronics, Communications and Computers (JEC-ECC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130298085","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed DFDM introduces spectral efficient multicarrier modulation scheme through getting rid of CP which represents loss in power and bandwidth, while accounting for ISI resulting from multi-path time dispersion. By employment of exponentially damped waveform, it is possible to have symbols with highly attenuated end (damped tail). Under time dispersion channel, the damped tail will cause minimal interference effect on the next symbol. DFDM can be incorporated as OFDM alternative for increasing data rate for local area communication (i.e., under high SNR).","PeriodicalId":362288,"journal":{"name":"2016 Fourth International Japan-Egypt Conference on Electronics, Communications and Computers (JEC-ECC)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127814193","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To deny the radar detection, the jammer should use high jamming power to overcome this high processing gain which increases the required Jamming-to-Signal Ratio (JSR) is, in most cases, extravagant and unachievable. This paper introduces a novel jamming technique designated as bandwidth shift jamming. The proposed jamming technique generates a replica of the intercepted radar signal but with a small shift in bandwidth. Jamming effectiveness of the proposed technique is evaluated on a typical modern search radar model with three different types of detectors: fixed threshold, Cell Average and Greatest Of Constant False Alarm Rate (CA-CFAR, GO-CFAR). Moreover, matched filter response to the proposed jamming signal is determined and the optimum parameters of the jamming signal are identified to maximize jamming effectiveness. The results show that the proposed jamming technique needs a JSR of -6 dB at least to be effective against LFM-PC search radar.","PeriodicalId":362288,"journal":{"name":"2016 Fourth International Japan-Egypt Conference on Electronics, Communications and Computers (JEC-ECC)","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117139458","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
