The research method used is descriptive qualitative by applying SWOT and QSPM analysis. The results of the SWOT analysis show that the strategic position of PT Takaful Keluarga Medan is in quadrant 1 (positive strategy), between strengths and opportunities. Strategic recommendations include consistent development of Sharia products, increasing public trust through excellent service, platform diversification for better accessibility, training and socialization about waqf benefits, and improving the quality of human resources. QSPM analysis indicates that the prioritized development strategy is to leverage the Sharia insurance brand and enhance customer trust through digital platforms, increase the number of marketers, improve product quality, workforce understanding, and collaboration with Islamic institutions. The researchers hope that these findings can serve as considerations for students in selecting alternative strategies, while for future researchers, it is hoped that they can analyze other factors and variables not explored in this study.","PeriodicalId":361475,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Economics Development Research (IJEDR)","volume":"67 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140476919","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study is based on two waves of nationally-representative household survey data collected in 2005/06 and 2015/16. A measure of livelihood diversification in the sampled households was computed using Simpson Diversity Index. Comparison of means and correlation analysis was used to test the study’s hypothesis on a sample of 8,483 and 12,217 rural households in 2005/06 and 2015/16 respectively. Consistent with the study’s hypothesis, results indicate lower mean values of livelihood diversification indices for rural households that reported loss in welfare due to climate shocks compared to those that reported no adverse effects in both 2005/06 and 2015/16. Correlation analysis results indicate an inverse relationship between livelihood diversification and vulnerability to climate shocks for all sampled households. Distinctive and nuanced differences in results were found when analysis was disaggregated along income classes and agro-ecological zones. Sensitivity analysis confirmed robustness of the results. Based on these results, it is recommended that rural households be supported to pursue a diverse portfolio of income generating activities and assets in order to build resilience against climate shocks.","PeriodicalId":361475,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Economics Development Research (IJEDR)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121420105","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Likewise, it also aimed to determine the relationship between the leadership styles of the principals and its current SBM level of practice. The study was undertaken in eleven (11) public secondary schools in Mandaluyong City with fifty-five (55) teacher-respondents who are members of their respective SBM team.\u0000The mixed method design was used in the study. Correlational method of research was used to determine the relationship between the leadership styles and the corresponding current SBM level of practice. Survey questionnaire was utilized to identify the perceived leadership styles demonstrated by the principals in implementing SBM. An interview through focus group discussion was conducted to determine how leadership styles of the school heads affect the implementation of school-based management. As revealed in the results of the study, most of the members of the SBM team in each school perceived that Transformational leadership, Transactional leadership, Strategic leadership, and Democratic leadership are the frequently leadership styles employed by the principals in the implementation of the school-based management. Likewise, since the computed value 22.00 using the chi-square test is greater than the tabular value 18. 307 at 0.05 alpha and 10 degrees of freedom, the null hypothesis was rejected and concludes that there is a significant relationship between the principals’ leadership style and the status of the SBM level of practice. Most of the participants of the study perceived that leadership styles of the principals directly affect the performance of the whole team in achieving the status of SBM level of practice. A school head with a strong leadership would mean significant and better results as to compare to a school head who most of the time delegated the tasks directly to his team.","PeriodicalId":361475,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Economics Development Research (IJEDR)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132562418","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a result, this paper specifically investigates the trans-Atlantic transmission of interest rate shocks with a view to identifying any macroeconomic concern for Nigeria using Annual time series data from World Bank’s Development Indicators 2020. To achieve the objectives of this study, various econometric tests were carried out on the variables such as the Augmented Dickey- Fuller (ADF) test, variance decomposition test as well as the impulse response test. The impulse response analysis of our VAR model shows that Nigerian variables respond significantly to shocks from foreign variables. The study therefore concluded that shocks in Nigeria are mostly from across the Atlantic. In line with this, the study recommended that monetary authorities in Nigeria should base their policy making on foreign shocks with a view to stabilizing the macroeconomic environment. \u0000 ","PeriodicalId":361475,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Economics Development Research (IJEDR)","volume":"68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132556946","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Ordinary Least Square (OLS) technique was employed in analyzing the data. Empirical results showed a negative and insignificant impact of government health expenditure on under-five child mortality. It was also found that government capital expenditure had a negative and insignificant impact on under-five mortality, while government recurrent expenditure had a negative and significant impact on under-five mortality. Gross fixed capital formation had a positive and significant impact on under-five child mortality. It was also found that child mortality, government capital expenditure and domestic investment had a positive and significant impact on economic growth, while inflation had a negative and significant impact on economic growth. We recommend an increase in the yearly budgetary allocation to the health sector. However, the key to good outcomes is dependent not on the only mere increase in budgetary allocation but rather on implementing a public finance system that is good enough to extend and possibly link particular expenditure and revenue decisions and ensure appropriate usage of the allocated fund as transparently as possible.","PeriodicalId":361475,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Economics Development Research (IJEDR)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124481034","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
