Both fuels were used with same common rail injection system. Combustion experiment showed that low load condition of 0.45 MPa IMEP (indicated mean effective pressure) was tested in metal and optical engines. The gasoline combustion showed higher hydrocarbon and carbon monoxide emissions but lower soot emission compared with diesel combustion. NOx emissions were very high at late injection timing but significantly decreased at early injection timing due to the lean combustion resulted from vigorous mixing process. Direct combustion visualization showed that the diesel combustion was dominated by diffusion combustion exhibiting soot incandescence and the gasoline combustion was mostly consisted of premixed combustion showing blue chemiluminescence.","PeriodicalId":360692,"journal":{"name":"Power System Engineering","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124732852","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The moisture exchange efficiency depends on material characteristics. The material used for ERV is Hwang-to paper based on Han-ji which is Korean traditional paper. The paper has excellent performance in moisture exchange and heat transfer compared with polymer and other papers. To have an anti bacteria performance and to improve moisture exchange performance of Han-ji, Hwang-to is added to the Han-ji. The enthalpy exchange efficiency of the Hwang-to paper shows 5% greater than that of the conventional paper. In case of Escherichia Coli, the reduction rate of bacteria is 96.6% and in case of Pseudomonas, the reduction rate of bacteria is 97.5%. The ERV element made of Hwang-to paper has a great possibility as an ERV element.","PeriodicalId":360692,"journal":{"name":"Power System Engineering","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123526017","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The low cycle fatigue test results of Alloy 617 weldments under 900oC have been statistically estimated through the Coffin-Manson relationship according to the provided strain profile. In addition, the strain energy density-based model is proposed to represent the energy dissipated per cycle as fatigue damage parameter. Based on the results, Alloy 617 weldments followed the Coffin-Manson relationship and strain energy density-based model well, and they were compatible with the experimental data. The predicted lives based on these two proposed models were examined with the experimental data to select a proper life prediction parameter.","PeriodicalId":360692,"journal":{"name":"Power System Engineering","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132645519","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to develop a better turbine or loss models, an experimental study was conducted using a linear cascade experimental apparatus. The total pressure loss and flow structures were measured at two cross-sectional planes located downstream of blade row. Measurement was conducted in a steady state for the several different locations of the blade row along the rotational direction. The blade row moved by 20 % of the pitch, and tip clearance was varied from 2% to 8%. Axial-type blades were used and its blade chord was 200mm. A square nozzle was applied and its size was 200mm x 200mm. The experiment was conducted at a Reynolds number of 3×10 5 based on the chord. Nozzle flow angle sets to 65° based on the axial direction and the solidity of blade row was 1.38. From the experimental results, the total pressure loss was greatly varied in the receding region than in the entering region. The flow properties within the blade passage were strongly changed according to the location of blade row.","PeriodicalId":360692,"journal":{"name":"Power System Engineering","volume":"185 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123208259","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The FSI(Fluid-Structure Interaction) analysis has performed to investigate the safety factor for the watertight damper. When watertight damper of disk was closed, the disk of pressure value is constant. However depending on the opening angle of disk, the flow velocity and pressure are changed. The maximum velocity was appeared at the end of disk on the small outlet area of duct. When the opening angel of disk is 90°, the maximum velocity was appeared at the center of ending disk. So we were found the opening angle of disk is bigger, the flow rate is increased and velocity is also increased from the result of FSI analysis. We can find the least deformation and stress when the opening angel of damper is 90°. When the 45° opening angle of disk, the largest deformation and stress was found and the minimum safety factor 1.3 was calculated. As a result, we found that the structure of watertight damper is safe enough irrespective of opening angel.","PeriodicalId":360692,"journal":{"name":"Power System Engineering","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129867242","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, TIG(tungsten ingot gas) welding was carried out on the stainless steel using the storage vessel of hydrogen. The microscopic structures at each region of TIG welded material such as HAZ, weld and base metals using optical microscope were observed. And the damage behavior of stainless steel that underwent the hydrogen charging using nondestructive evaluation was also studied. Ultrasonic test, which is the most generalized nondestructive technique, was applied to evaluate the relationship between the ultrasonic wave and mechanical properties at each zone of TIG welded stainless steel. The velocity and attenuation coefficients of ultrasonic wave didn’t show a remarkable difference at each region of welded stainless steel. However, the attenuation coefficient was the highest at the weld zone when hydrogen charged stainless steel. In addition, acoustic emission test was also used to study the dynamic behavior of stainless steel experienced both hydrogen charging and weld.
