Moreover, it aims to develop an advanced control technique that improves the characteristics of the three-phase three-level NPC PWM rectifier, in terms of fixed switching frequency operation, unit power factor, low harmonic distortion rate of currents absorbed by the rectifiers and good regulation of the DC bus voltage. A direct predictive power control based on space vector modulation technique, named P-SVM-DPC, has been proposed to solve the problems associated with conventional DPC control algorithms. The proposed control strategy, based on the discrete model of the system, allows predicting the behavior of the system for different control actions, and choosing the most optimal vector for what is applied to the system at the next instant. Numerical simulations show that the proposed predictive control is very accurate and robust to load variations.","PeriodicalId":359645,"journal":{"name":"2021 12th International Symposium on Advanced Topics in Electrical Engineering (ATEE)","volume":"131 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117194352","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to identify the means of improving the degree of pollution produced by these electronic power systems it is necessary to study, model and simulate various configurations of static power converters. This paper focuses on Matlab//Simulink modeling and simulation of power factor control techniques used in three-phase PWM power rectifiers. The aim of the paper is to accomplish a study of the PWM control technique in a three-phase stationary reference and to compare that to the PWM technique in a two-phase synchronous reference frame rotating with electrical speed, both for three phase rectifiers with active PFC systems. The comparison criteria consist in the value of the power factor PF, the harmonic content of the absorbed current THD and the energy efficiency of the studied configurations.","PeriodicalId":359645,"journal":{"name":"2021 12th International Symposium on Advanced Topics in Electrical Engineering (ATEE)","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115604419","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed layer is maintained the antenna and consists of $5 times 5 -$unit cells. The proposed unit cell is designed to has four PIN diodes for structure reconfiguration into states ON and OFF. Therefore, the layer may have many distribution patters of ON-OFF unit cells. Each certain distribution pattern can enhance antenna gain to a certain value. Four patterns of the layer are suggested to enhance the antenna gain of about 1 dBi to 2, 5, 8, and 11 dBi. An equivalent circuit is introduced to describe the performance of the proposed unit cell. Besides, full CST MWS simulations for the system are conducted. To experimentally verify the presented method, a prototype of the system is fabricated and partially tested. The measurements show a good agreement with simulations.","PeriodicalId":359645,"journal":{"name":"2021 12th International Symposium on Advanced Topics in Electrical Engineering (ATEE)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114157470","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Laser-using systems belong to a category called LiDAR scannerless where the entire object is streaked with the pulse of light, in contrast to systems in which the object is scanned point by point.This paper highlighted the principles of determining absolute distance and relative speed by optical means, as well as identifies the main LiDAR modules available on the market.The most important application of this method is the frontal distance long-range measurement used for vehicles. This paper‘s recommendations will be used for selecting LIDAR sensor and control electronics, which can be used to make mobile experimental models for measuring distance and relative speed of vehicles.Since not all Manufacturers of LiDAR modules are presenting their product’s technical characteristics and performances under the same test conditions, the authors recommend a platform to test these sensors in the form of experimental models on which can be performed comparative tests of available sensors.Several tests performed using the experimental model are presented and interpreted for the use of future research.","PeriodicalId":359645,"journal":{"name":"2021 12th International Symposium on Advanced Topics in Electrical Engineering (ATEE)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114807401","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Among the wide array of technological approaches to managing power supply, Li-Ion battery applications are widely used to increase power capabilities and to better integrate renewable energy sources. The improvement of Li-Ion batteries’ reliability and safety requires BMS (battery management system) technology for the energy systems’ optimal functionality and more sustainable batteries with ultra-high performances. This paper aims to introduce the need to incorporate information technology within the current energy storage applications for better performance and reduced costs. Artificial intelligence based BMSs facilitate parameter predictions and state estimations, thus improving efficiency and lowering overall maintenance costs.","PeriodicalId":359645,"journal":{"name":"2021 12th International Symposium on Advanced Topics in Electrical Engineering (ATEE)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124382364","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
