Due to heavy burdens in every pharmacy, patients in Ethiopia do not get proper advice about the medicinal drugs they’re taking from the pharmacist. Moreover, it is far tough to recognize and interpret the various written instruction on remedy labels or package deal leaflet while not heaving the domain knowledge. As Ethiopia is an importer of many medicinal drugs from abroad, very often the package leaflets are not written in the local language. Therefore, due to language barrier, most of the patients cannot comprehend the information on medication labels and on package leaflet. In this regards most patients purchase the medication without a proper understanding of how to use the medication. This necessitates a technological based solution which serves patients in their language when they want an advice. This study demonstrates the design and implementation of a mobile-based solution to minimize such challenges and improve patient access to the medicinal drugs information. The requirements of the proposed system gathered using interview from pharmacist, doctors, technical expert, and client. Finally, a mobile application prototype is developed and evaluated for its effectiveness.","PeriodicalId":359510,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Computer and Information Technology(2279-0764)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126742438","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, these design processes encounter several challenges which make most of the designed interactive systems, notably in higher learning institutions fail to suitably satisfy targeted users’ needs despite the fact that they are normally designed based on their requirements. \u0000This study begins by exploring the challenges facing main communication and interaction means used in Tanzania higher learning institutions. The study then provides a review of challenges related to key research areas associated with interactive systems’ design. Based on the reviewed challenges, authors combined design science research with activity theory to come up with suited techniques through which user-involved interactive communication frameworks needed for suitable design of human activity-based interactive communication systems’ can be obtained. \u0000Based on that approach, authors came up with a suited four phase Design Science Research methodology to be used in designing of applicable frameworks. In its first phase and following a crucial user-centred design process, authors were able to come up with a Human-Activity Design Centred Framework for capturing most of the users’ needs in the design process through activities performed as well as a Human Factors’ Approach to interactive communication systems design in HLIs’.","PeriodicalId":359510,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Computer and Information Technology(2279-0764)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132021889","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cake is one of the unique variations of food include traditional cake. A variety of custom-made cakes will make the taste special, even though the name is the same. Traditional cakes are foods that are part of the ancestral culture that has been passed down from generation to generation explicitly in the region or Indonesian society. Machine learning methods are suitable for consistent and clear object recognition, this requires complex image pre-processing and feature extraction methods. The proposed model of our research is MobileNetv2 which was customized and then we did fine tuning then all of our training datasets do data-augmentation to create new datasets with various patterns so that the train dataset can be more numerous and avoid overfitting and the model can detect cake differences with an accuracy rate of 94% and loss 0.06.","PeriodicalId":359510,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Computer and Information Technology(2279-0764)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129215534","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

High surface roughness is an example of bad surface finish that is normally reduced by manual polishing after conventional milling machining process. Therefore, in order to avoid disadvantages by manual polishing and disadvantage by the machining, a sequence of two machining operations is proposed. The main operation is run by the machining and followed by Rotary Ultrasonic Machining Assisted Milling (RUMAM). However, this sequence operation requires optimum input parameters to generate the lowest surface roughness. Hence, this paper aims to optimize the input parameters for both machining operations by three soft-computing approaches – Genetic Algorithm, Tabu Search, and Particle Swarm Optimization. The method adopted in this paper begins with a fitness function development, optimization approach usage and ends up with result evaluation and validation. The soft-computing approaches result outperforms the experiment result in having minimum surface roughness. Based on the findings, the conclusion suggests that the lower surface roughness can be obtained by applying the input parameters at maximum for the cutting speed and vibration frequency, and at minimum for machining feed rate. This finding assists manufacturers to apply proper input values to obtain parts with minimum surface roughness.","PeriodicalId":359510,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Computer and Information Technology(2279-0764)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114385100","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The informational practices induced by Web technologies and data exploitation are accompanied by a paradigm that disrupts the process of sharing and communicating information in organization. Knowledge generated by human and social activities broadens the scope of knowledge management systems. New forms of technologies are changing system’s design approaches. It is on these evolving aspects of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) that we will highlight the different challenges faced by organizations. In reviewing the literature on ICTs, several researches work highlight the importance of digital revolutions in the development of IS in general, and in particular Knowledge Management (KM) systems. In order to understand the evolution of KM Systems, we carry out the postulate that different angles of view have a positive correlation with our research perimeter: We identify that collaborative practices and decision-making approach are positively related to Knowledge Management systems’ design. The conceptual model links our hypothesis with the concept of knowledge management systems. We develop a conceptual model according to a review of literature in information science. Research finding can be used for designing Knowledge Management systems. Several actors can benefit from the repercussions on a pragmatic level. System designers can identify modern developments to provide more pragmatic applications. Decision-makers can identify how to harness Knowledge Management systems and also identify good practices in terms of collaborative approaches and decision-making processes.","PeriodicalId":359510,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Computer and Information Technology(2279-0764)","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127880851","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper proposes a methodology to segment and classify brain tumors using magnetic resonance images (MRI). Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) are one of the effective detection methods and have been employed for tumor segmentation. We optimized the total number of layers and epochs in the model. First, we run the CNN with 1000 epochs to see its best-optimized number. Then we consider six models, increasing the number of layers from one to six. This leads to low throughput, a lot of energy consumption, delay and low packet delivery ratio. In order to ensure that the route is not rediscovered over and over, multipath routing protocols such as Adhoc Multipath Distance Vector (AOMDV) is used in order to utilize the alternate routes. However, nodes that have low residual energy can die and add to the problem of disconnection of network and route rediscovery. This paper proposes a multipath routing algorithm based on AOMDV and genetic mutation. It takes into account residual energy, hop count, congestion and received signal strength for primary route selection. For secondary path selection it uses residual energy, hop count, congestion and received signal strength together with mutation. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm gives better performance results compared to AOMDV by 11% for residual energy, 45% throughput, 3% packet delivery ratio, and 63% less delay.","PeriodicalId":359510,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Computer and Information Technology(2279-0764)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117273091","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
