This study aims to investigate how the growth of the medicinal mushroom C. militaris is influenced by the culture medium and culture conditions in a controlled laboratory setting. The results indicate that aromatic brown rice (BT7) significantly increases the fresh weight of all three collected materials of C. militaris. Shoot length and body weight were promoted by the glucose content, silkworm pupa powder and pH of the culture medium ranging from 6.0 to 7.0, with the optimal glucose content being 30.0g per bottle. The optimal temperature for growth is between 22°C and below 25°C, with a light intensity of 600-700 lux. For higher cordycepin content, the recommended harvesting time is 65 days, while for adenosine content should be 55 days after inoculation. These findings provide valuable information to improve both the biomass and quality of C. militaris, which is crucial for large-scale production in the pharmaceutical industry.","PeriodicalId":35945,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Zoology","volume":"11 12","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140697225","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Zebrafish has become an ideal model for studying environmental and embryo toxicity. The present study was carried out using zebrafish embryos for assessing the environmental toxicity of Di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) which is universally considered to be an omnipresent environmental contaminant as it is the most widely used plasticizer. The embryos were exposed to DEHP for a range of five concentrations of 0.2, 20, 80, 140 and 200 μg/L for the duration of 96 hours. The treatment resulted in increased mortality and decreased hatch rate, hatchability and heartrate. It also induced teratogenic endpoints like yolk sac edema, pericardial edema and spinal deformity in the embryos which increased in dose and time dependent manner.","PeriodicalId":35945,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Zoology","volume":"26 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140717537","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our system is considered as a bioinformatics system, it uses artificial intelligence techniques to create an inference engine able to automatically recognize and classify a new insect. It also uses database creation techniques to create the knowledge and fact bases necessary for the proper functioning of the inference engine. Due to its interactive graphic interface, and by guiding its user, step by step, the system starts with the introduction of the morphological characteristics of the insect and the result is to automatically classify the insect in the database in the appropriate species. Our classification is focused on Hymenoptera precisely on the Apidae family, we have given a detailed classification of the Apidae family with its three subfamilies: Apinae, Xylocopinae and Nomadini. Our system is implemented completely in JAVA programming language using phpMyadmin as a database management system.","PeriodicalId":35945,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Zoology","volume":"24 19","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140753454","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cardiovascular risk does not have a linear relationship between LDL – cholesterol levels, and other substantial risk factors of cardiovascular events are being disregarded.The aim of this study is, to identify modifiable risk factors of cardiovascular events other than those well proved to cause dyslipidemia. A cross-sectional study was conducted with 652 participants in a tertiary care hospital. Patients were grouped into two, based on the history of cardiovascular events. Demographics and patient responses captured using pre-validated questionnaires were analyzed. 5mL blood samples were collected by venipuncture and lipid profile was estimated. Association between cardiovascular events and explanatory variables. was determined using Chi square test and Odds ratio at 95% confidence intervals. Higher risk of CV events was found among smokers 0.232 [0.144 – 0.373]. Consumption of white sugar, refined oil, processed cold beverages and fast food products increased CV risk respectively. Moreover, total cholesterol, LDL-C and triglycerides were found to decrease after one year of counselling the patients. The classical hypothesis of dyslipidemia induced atherosclerosis may not be the predominant cause of CV events. Herein, we report no association between high fat diet and CV risk while we observed higher risk in consumers of refined and ultra processed food products. However, significant control of cholesterol was observed in patients who shifted to Unrefined food products.","PeriodicalId":35945,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Zoology","volume":"127 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140078665","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
