Our recommender system consists of two major components: 1) place recommendation and 2) Android mobile application component. A user-based collaborative filtering scheme is applied to predict the nearest places for the android user based on his/her GPS position from a mobile device. To make the personalization, we propose a social-driven recommendation algorithm that incorporates real-world check-in spots from Foursquare, a location-based social network service. We also implement an android application to use the recommender system via a mobile device. Offline experimental results demonstrated that our recommender system can achieve satisfying precision and recall of recommended places.","PeriodicalId":359355,"journal":{"name":"2016 Fifth ICT International Student Project Conference (ICT-ISPC)","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134319789","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, visually impaired people is difficult to use the general navigation system due to the low positioning accuracy and the non-user-friendly interfaces for them. Therefore, the goal of this study was to develop a navigation system for visually impaired people. Currently, GPS is a prevailing technology as a way of outdoor positioning. Among them, the quasi-zenith satellite system (QZSS) “MICHIBIKI” has been attracting attention in Japan because it can get extremely higher accurate position than conventional GPS. Meanwhile, indoor positioning technology using various methods such as Wi-Fi, RFID, and iBeacon has been rapidly developed. In this paper, we apply the QZSS and RFID in the UHF band to the location positioning in the indoor and outdoor for navigating visually impaired people. For this purpose, we measured the radio field intensity of RFID tags in a various situation. As a result, we verified that position estimation based on RFID can be utilized for navigation. Furthermore, we also propose an algorithm for estimating the self-position by combining the position data of MICHIBIKI and RFID.","PeriodicalId":359355,"journal":{"name":"2016 Fifth ICT International Student Project Conference (ICT-ISPC)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123849983","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The university is one of the organizations that need to use beneficial information from an evaluation system. In addition, to support the key performance indicator (KPI) of the university, the evaluation form should be generated with the questions that can measure the KPIs. Matching questions in the evaluation form with KPIs is still some of the problematic such that the answers cannot be used for assessing the performance based on KPIs. BeEvaluator was introduced and developed to provide a user-friendly evaluation system for generating an evaluation and suggesting questions that related to KPIs of the event via web-based system. BeEvaluator system also provides feature that requestor can edit and delete evaluation form. In addition, to create an effective evaluation form, it has to approve by the administrative team before the system generates the evaluation form. The benefits of this system are to reduce resources such as paper and time of collecting and analysing the data manually. The system will produce more accurate result in real time. Moreover, BeEvaluator system generates the QR code which will be scanned by evaluator in order to evaluate the evaluation form. This will allow evaluator to access the form conveniently anywhere on their mobile phones.","PeriodicalId":359355,"journal":{"name":"2016 Fifth ICT International Student Project Conference (ICT-ISPC)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125811194","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study was designed by using the principles of text mining including Document Clustering and Document Classification. The experimental results showed that the performance of the model could be as effective as the human performance with the 86.51 percentage of average accuracy and correlation coefficient at moderate level (R= .60. The research findings indicated that the proposed model could reduce the scoring times. This model also could help instructors to teach big-sized classes as well as decrease the budget to hire teacher assistants. Additionally, it could increase times for instructors to conduct their research, develop teaching materials, and create other innovative works needed in teaching and learning processes.","PeriodicalId":359355,"journal":{"name":"2016 Fifth ICT International Student Project Conference (ICT-ISPC)","volume":"14 11","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132968594","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is a casual game that the player will be present as a car driver who has to reach the destination in a specific time and also have to follow the driving rules. The game scenes have simulated the real situation from the road in Thailand. They also consist of some obstacles such as road constructions, road-side shops, and parking cars. In addition, the finite state machine is used to make different cars in game be able to think by themselves and to provide the different behaviors. Moreover, there is the mission system to set the aims for the player and the shop systems where the player can spend money in the game to upgrade the performance of the game play. The player will win when reaching the destination or the game will be terminated if the player hits other cars or obstacles for three times. At the end of the game, the player will get rewards (i.e. money in the game) for good behaviors of car driving during the game play. The proposed application has been evaluated mainly in three aspects including entertainment, awareness of good practices in driving car, and challenging missions.","PeriodicalId":359355,"journal":{"name":"2016 Fifth ICT International Student Project Conference (ICT-ISPC)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114791472","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
