The heat exchangers considered are rectangular in cross section and trapezoidal in longitudinal section. Coolant is supplied from both sides (models M1 and M2) or from one side only (in model M3). Heat escapes though a hole in the smaller side of the trapezium. The flow and thermal characteristics of the heat exchangers are compared. The method takes account of the initial geometric deviation, the productivity, and the kinematic parameters. Additive technologies based on melting the starting material face a number of problems related to controlling the quality of the created material, which are primarily associated with overheating of the material in the working area and non-stationary thermal conditions during formation of the product. The possibility of creating monolithic metal products of significant size and weight with specified material characteristics by the method of layer-by-layer plasma metallization is currently effectively unexplored. The defect rate, chemical composition, structure, and properties of the material formed by plasma metallization are determined by thermochemical and gas-kinetic processes at all stages—from melting and wire spaying to the collision of particles on the substrate and the formation of the monolith. Development of a technology for the formation of a monolithic, defect-free material with a controlled chemical composition, structure, and properties by layer-by-layer plasma metallization would solve the problem of manufacturing large-sized products with a developed surface, ensure high process productivity, and reduce residual internal stresses and plastic deformations during additive manufacturing of special-purpose products. This article presents the results of a study of the possibility of additive manufacturing of workpieces by layer-by-layer plasma metallization from 308 LSi steel. It is shown that control over the structure and properties of the formed material can be achieved. Provided certain conditions for the formation of the two-phase plasma jet are fulfilled, it is possible to ensure that the structure and properties of the resulting material are close to those obtained by traditional methods. A practical option is presented to form financial models of commercializing the result of an innovative project to create a software and hardware complex (PAC) for automated visual inspection control (VIC) of boilers of thermal power plants (TPPs). The research is based on the principles of the formation of financial models for the commercialization of R&amp;D results. A sales plan as the volume of services provided for the inspection of TPP equipment and an operation schedule with account for the potential PAC capabilities are proposed, and the price of the service is justified. The cost of a flight hour of operation of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is taken as a unit of service. The efficiency of R&amp;D investments has been calculated considering the profit that ensures the payback of the project. By this means it is possible to produce electrodes of high precision and complex geometry, with distinctive properties. In addition, the results of topological optimization in electrode design are presented. Topological optimization permits the production of wire electrodes that are more efficient in the given operating conditions. Currently, manufacturers in the engineering industry must take account of the short product life cycle and the volatility of market demand. Consequently, manufacturers must be nimble, responsive, and flexible. The ongoing introduction of digital technologies inaugurates a new era in manufacturing and permits improvement in production and industrial processes. The Internet of Things (the industrial Internet) allows manufacturers to collect and analyze huge quantities of data in real time from smart sensors, actuators in production lines, and products in the course of their operation. The goal is to speed up the introduction of more precise management methods. In the present work, trends in the digital transformation of industry are noted, and strategic prospects for their development are identified. Current approaches to digital technologies are still fragmentary and static.
