Dies hat sich auch durch die Fortschritte in vielen anderen diagnostischen Bereichen wie beispielsweise in der Bildgebung nicht verändert. Allerdings können bildgebende Verfahren die Effizienz der EMG-Untersuchung steigern.</p></div><div><p>For many decades, and to this day, EMG is particularly important in the diagnosis of peripheral nerve diseases or generalized diseases involving the peripheral motoneuron and also diseases of the musculature. This has not changed with advances in many other diagnostic areas such as imaging techniques. Beispielhaft wird die Anwendung von Trockenelektroden-EEG-Hauben zur EEG-Aufzeichnung und telemedizinischer Übertragung und Befundung anhand des Projektes ANNOTeM (Akut Neurologische Versorgung in Nord-Ost-Deutschland mit telemedizinischer Unterstützung) dargestellt.</p></div><div><p>The article describes the concept of Tele-EEG and use of dry-electrode EEG in this context. Mit fortschreitender Technik und dem Wunsch nach natürlicheren Umgebungsbedingungen erfreut sich das mobile EEG (drahtlos und tragbar) immer größerer Beliebtheit. Im folgenden Artikel werden neue Methodik, Anwendungsfelder sowie technologische Möglichkeiten dargelegt.</p></div><div><p>Traditionally EEG in functional diagnostics is measured in stationary settings.</p><p>Due to technological advances, and with the users wish to reach more realistic research settings, the interest in mobile EEG has been growing continuously. Elektrodengel ist notwendig um die Impedanz zwischen den Elektroden und der Haut zu veringern. Die Haut muss für die Vorbereitung unter jeder Elektrode abgerieben werden, was auch unangenehm für den Probanden sein kann. Trockenelektroden bieten dabei eine gute Alternative. Sie können schnell und für den Probanden angenehm auf der Kopfhaut platziert werden. Eine besondere Anwendung von EEG-Elektroden findet sich in Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI). BCI Systeme nutzen verschiedene EEG Signaltypen für ihre Steuerung und Bedienung: P300, Steady-State Visual evozierte Potentiale und Event-Related Desynchronisation. In diesem Artikel werden Trockenelektroden vorgestellt und mit Gel-basierten EEG Elektroden verglichen mit besonderen Fokus auf ihre Anwendung in BCI Systemen.</p></div><div><p>Gel-based electrodes for encephalography (EEG) have some features hampering them in their application. Gel is needed to reduce the impedance between the EEG-electrode and the skin. The skin also need preparation. At the electrode locations the subject's skin requires abrasion for conventional EEG recordings. This could also be unpleasant for the subject. Dry EEG-electrodes are a good alternative, because they are quick to apply. A special field of application are brain computer interfaces (BCI). BCIs are using different features in the EEG signal: P300, steady-state visual evoked potentials and event-related desynchronization.
